GREAT-GREAT-GREAT-GREAT: Great product - picked up 19 stations in Richmond, VA, incl all five networks with super HD reception; Great ease in quick as a flash installation; Great bargain, less than any of the other e-tailers I researched; Great company (Crutchfield) to do business with - quite professional in all aspects.
    Pros:
Works better than advertised and takes up very little room. Adjustments very easily accomplished
    Cons:
    None

The guy at the store was definitely right when he said not to buy their antennaes but look for a terk on-line. Definitely more bang for the buck. I have an antennae that I dont even think about when I turn on the tv. No fading & quality signal every channel! As usual. prompt delidery without a hitch. My 4th item from Crutchfield. Will always go to them for electronics
    Pros:
hi quality for less than store price. Very easy to set up
    Cons:
not familiar w/the antennae world but wish I got more than 44 channels -that may be because of location

This antenna did not pick up any VHF signals for my location (30 - 45 miles away). I did pick up several UHF signals in better than cable appearance, but no VHF at all.
    Pros:
    light weight
    Cons:
big and cumbersome looking in the living room

This is a great antenna if you want to cut the cord from your cable company. The HD picture is better than anything I received from my cable or satellite company. It is very easy to set up. I wish the "ears" were a bit smaller but I'm not sure if that's a realistic expectation.
    Pros:
    Easy to install
    Cons:
    Size

    Very pleased with this purchase

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I dropped cable and bought the Terk HDTVa as a low-cost, easy-to-implement solution for over-the-air reception. If it didn't work I wouldn't have too much invested and could put an outdoor antenna in the attic. After 3 weeks of use I see no need to get a better antenna. Depending upon atmospheric conditions the antenna is able to pick up 2 stations 55 miles to the west in Charlottesville. I have the antenna in a second flood location and am using two-splitters to supply signal to three TVs using three different tuners. One tuner in a digital-to-analog conversion box does not perform as well as the others. My main tower cluster is 10 miles away, slightly west of due south. I still get a strong signal from those towers when pointing the antenna west toward Charlottesville. The VHF has no problem receiving the one local VHF station, also 10 miles away.

At first I attached it to a single Tv on the first floor. Moving it to the second floor resulted in a definite improvement. Placement and tuners are important to getting the most out of this antenna.
    Pros:
Easy to set up. It is not overly directional and can pick up signals when point 90 degrees away. Has the ability to pull in a signal 55 miles away with the right placement under the right conditions and with a good tuner.
    Cons:
It's not too pretty to look at.

A Big Improvement If you Live In a Shadowed area

Written By Oleg, The Woodlands, TX on Thursday, December 20, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After a recent purchase of an HDTV I found that there are no air channels I can receive on a standard home antenna. The only channel I could see was very unstable and it was given just a single picture updated once per minute. With Terk I can receive about 6 perfect quality HDTV programs some more are available depending on weather conditions. It is exactly what I was looking for.
    Pros:
Allows to receive perfect quality programs in an area with low level signals. No setup needed.
    Cons:
The product is perfect for this price. Be ready to manually redirect the antenna if there are more than one transmitter in your area. Somewhat sensitive to noise: most channels disappear when I turn my DVD recorder on.

    Great antenna

Written By ClintB, OKC OK on Friday, December 14, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This antenna was everything I expected. I can get 35 channels and about 9 that broadcast in HD. All local channels both UHF and VHF. Some VHF channels will require outdoor anteena because of distance to tower. Anyway, i am dropping cable as it is way overpriced. Great product.
    Pros:
Picks up more channels for both UHF and VHF than any antenna I have seen. I think it looks cool too
    Cons:
needs to sit on flat surface

    Great downtime alternative

Written By CJ, Long Valley,NJ on Sunday, November 18, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this antenna after hurricane Sandy knocked my cable out for 2 weeks. Was skeptical since I am 40+ miles away from NYC and towers. Hooked it up and only was able to get one channel. Then I put it in my attic pointing towards the city and viola!!! I was very impressed at the quality and number of channels I was able to get. I thought I might get a couple of local channels, but I was able to get 2,4,5,9,11 and a dozen or so other channels that I have yet to explore. For me this is a big win since we loose cable often in the winter months and this is meant only to keep us occupied and in touch until it returns. The total quality of this product and the reception is more then worth the 40 bucks.
    Pros:
I can watch TV when cable is down!
    Cons:
had to put velcro on the bottom of it to keep it steady even on a flat surface...but hey, not really a huge con

This product works like wonder. Easy to set up. Used to get 2 channels with my rabbit ears. Now getting 14 sure shot + some random channels. I use it with a TV tuner with my PC. I just love this weird alien weapon like looking device which gives me uninterrupted HD channels. Check sites like antennaweb and tvfool. If your are has moderate signals I would recommend you get this antenna. Its design looks like it was made to pick up signals from outer space aliens.
    Pros:
UHF easy. adjustment needed for VHF. compact design except the two field pole structures. easy to set up
    Cons:
Balancing. Needs a flat surface for balancing this alien device.

Should have gotten this antenna in the first place

Written By Steve, Dayton, OH suburb on Wednesday, September 26, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I originally bought the Winegard SS-3000 seven months ago. A forum that discusses antennas claimed it was the best with the Terk HDTVa a close second.

Recently, the power injector went out on the Winegard antenna. Since Winegard only warrants the antenna for 90 days, I faced having to pay $25 for a new part when the entire antenna sells for $42 (I paid $48). Winegard was rather nonchalent about assisting me and backing up their product.

I cut my loses and bought the Terk, which has a much better warranty (one year). The reception is much better than with the Winegard, and it doesn't take up nearly as much space. In fact, I receive a few extra stations that I didn't before. I was even pulling in a few Columbus stations 60 miles away although they wouldn't stay in. However, I have great reception on my Dayton locals without having to work with the Terk antenna as much as I did the Winegard, and I even get two local low power analog stations that I couldn't get with the Winegard.
    Pros:
Good warranty, takes up little room, works better than most if not all indoor antennas
    Cons:
    None

    Terk HDTVa antenna

Written By Davidg, Augusta, GA on Monday, September 24, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an excellent antenna. It was very easy to set up and works great. This was a replacement for a HDTV antenna. My old antenna was always losing the picture or I would have to adjust it, the new Terk HDTVa antenna is fantastic, I get more channels, don't have to adjust it and the picture is so clear. I'm really glad I made the investment. I checked on the internet but no one could beat the Crutchfield price.
    Pros:
Easy to install, No adjusting needed after set-up, very clear picture and you can tell it is made well, a real quality antenna.
    Cons:
There is only one suggestion for the antenna. The cable is made to the antenna so you can only place it a certain distance from the TV. It would be nice if it had the cable jack so you could choose the length and quality of the cable.

This antenna is very good. I get a beautiful picture from stations as far away as Ok City. But I can't get NBC or ABC. I was told I had to have an outdoor antenna to get them but I live in an apartment. I have not rotated the antenna because of space issues, maybe I could pick up more channels. Still the best antenna I have used.
    Pros:
Easy to use, great pic, no cable bill.
    Cons:
    No NBC, ABC

Free TV - What more can you say. We decided to get rid of Comcast TV and kept the internet and saved ourselves $50/mo. The antenna pays for itself. HD signals are great on my 60" Samsung and we get 22+ HD channels. Hulu and Amazon on fill in the gaps.
    Pros:
    Easy setup Great signal
    Cons:
Antenna cable is too short. Had to extent with coax cable.

Very happy with the antenna. I live in the 6th floor of a 24 story beachfront condo that has concrete walls inside and out. I have located the antenna close to the ceiling in one of the bedrooms and have excellent reception of all local channels (some 25). Definitely would recommend.
    Pros:
Very easy to install. Stop paying expensive cable TV or dish services.
    Cons:
    Only local channels available.
