Features
Overview: The Garmin GTM 60 is an add-on traffic receiver and 12-volt
power adapter for your compatible Garmin nuvi GPS portable navigator. The GTM 60
delivers Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information, including road conditions
and traffic delays, to your compatible Garmin GPS device. When traffic
information is received, your Garmin GPS portable navigator displays traffic
delays on the map and uses the information to avoid traffic delays and find the
fastest routes. The Garmin
GTM 60 traffic receiver provides subscription-free,
advertising-free traffic alerts with Digital 3D Traffic, the world's most
extensive traffic avoidance system. It offers more coverage in more areas with
more timely and accurate traffic condition updates. The GTM 60 uses Garmin's 3D
Traffic and Digital Traffic from the HD radio Broadcasting system to provide
traffic alerts up to 10x faster than traditional traffic receivers.
Note: The Garmin GTM 60 is an add-on device and requires the
connection of a compatible Garmin nuvi GPS portable navigator. The GTM 60
receives signals from the traffic service provider and displays that
information on your compatible GPS device.
Compatibility: The Garmin GTM 60 is compatible with the following
Garmin nuvi GPS portable navigators (as of 1/26/2012).

Note: The GTM 60 is fitted with a right-angle mini-USB (type-B)
connector which plugs into the mini-USB (type-B) port of your compatible
Garmin nuvi GPS portable navigator.
100% Subscription Free Traffic: The Garmin GTM 60 with 3D Traffic
gives you 100% subscription-free lifetime traffic updates. Unlike other traffic
system that may offer a "free trial", after which you are charged a monthly or
annual subscription fee. The subscription activates automatically after your
connected Garmin GPS device acquires satellite signals while receiving traffic
signal from the service provider.
Note: Lifetime traffic extends for the useful life of the Garmin
traffic receiver (as long as you own the compatible Garmin GPS device) or as
long as Garmin receives traffic data from its traffic supplier, whichever is
shorter.
Garmin 3D Traffic: Garmin 3D Traffic is broadcast over HD
Radio and is the worlds most extensive
traffic service. It combines historical traffic data & current traffic data from
active devices in transit, and predictive traffic to indentify impeding traffic
backups as well as current non-trend traffic incidents. Digital 3D Traffic, when
delivered over the rapid HD Radio Broadcasting System, updates traffic every 30
seconds (that's 4 to 10x faster than competitive services) allowing you to react
more quickly to changing traffic conditions and keep you moving.
Note: When HD service is not available in your area, the GTM 60
will provide data through an RDS-TMC channel. In that event, the GTM 60 and
GPS device must be in in data range of an FM station transmitting TMC data
to receive traffic information.
Traffic Coverage: Garmin 3D Traffic includes premium traffic content
for the United States for the lifetime of the product.

Traffic Data: Garmin 3D Traffic analyzes traffic flow data that has
been collected from more than 2 billion probe points every month. These 2
billion probe points included -
- data from millions of Garmin device owners
- data from millions of cellular phone owners
- incident reports
- radio feeds of live information
- news stations
- historic traffic data from NAVTEQ Traffic Supply
- historic traffic data from Garmin device owners
- fixed traffic sensors on major roads giving 99.9% accuracy of traffic
reports
Note: The GTM 60 may take up to 5 minutes to acquire data.
Traffic Avoidance: When connected to the GTM 60, your Garmin nuvi
portable navigator not only informs you about delays on your route, it
will also suggest alternate routes and guide you around the trouble spots. It
can even automatically route you around trouble spots without you having to do
anything, but drive.
12-Volt Power Adapter: In addition to free lifetime traffic alerts,
the GTM 60 features a 12-volt power adapter to connect to your vehicle's 12-volt
power/cigarette lighter port which will power and charge your compatible Garmin
nuvi GPS portable navigator.
