Features

Bluetooth (A2DP) Technology: The Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II Digital Music System offers built-in Bluetooth (A2DP) Technology which lets you wirelessly connect with many Bluetooth enabled devices; such as your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, or laptop. You'll be able to wirelessly stream music stored on your device or from music apps on your device; like Pandora, iHeartRadio, MOG, or Spotify. And if you need to multitask, you can keep using your device while you listen to music. Bluetooth wireless technology has a range of approximately 30'. The SoundLink Bluetooth system can pair up to 6 Bluetooth-enabled devices (only one can be active). If you are using a smartphone, a phone call interrupts your audio source and plays through your phone only. When the call ends, your music automatically resumes through the SoundLink Mobile speaker II.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II system.

Advanced Sound Performance: Proprietary speaker technologies deliver your music in all its clarity with robust sound unusual for a compact, wireless speaker. Its unique driver configuration allows the small, lightweight speaker to reproduce deep, full sound.

Note: The speaker is designed to sound best when placed on a shelf, counter, desk, or tabletop that is 24-48" high. For best bass response, the speaker should be placed near a wall; bass response decreases as the speaker is placed closer to the center of a room.

Aux Input: The SoundLink Bluetooth has a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input for connecting a external portable audio source other than your Bluetooth-enabled device.

mini-USB Connector: The unit's mini-USB (type-B) port is designed for downloadable software updates that may be available in the future. By registering this product, you will automatically be notified of any necessary updates.

Integrated Cover/Stand: The SoundLink Bluetooth's integrated bi-fold cover protects the speaker during travel and unfolds into a stand for instant playback anywhere.

Rechargeable Battery: The SoundLink Bluetooth Mobile Speaker II is powered by a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. A fully charged battery gives you up to eight hours of continuous playing time in most situations. An empty battery usually takes two to three hours to charge. The battery light shows green when the battery is charged between 70-100%. Yellow indicates a charge between 20-69%. And red means the battery is less than 19% charged.

Note: When the SoundLink Mobile speaker II is unplugged and unused for more than 14 days, it enters battery protection mode to preserve battery power.

AC Power Adapter: The included AC power adapter can be used to charge the integrated battery and power the unit.

Very happy with my Bose sound link 2. Seemed expensive initially, but after using this for about three weeks I love this thing. Worth the price totally. equipment Quality and sound is impressive as to be expected from Bose. Almost more impressive was crutchfields customer service. Returned a product that I was truly unhappy with, in exchange for my sound link and now am very happy with a product I use almost daily! Thanks -John

Pros:

Excellent sound and quality for a retivally small unit. Good wireless range compared with other bluetooth devices. Full charge lasts a while.

Cons:

Happy with the unit, would be sweet if there was a more robust case I could acquire for sound link. Also would be cool if you could remotely turn the unit on and off.

We Love It!

Let me get past the "con" that we had read about this system: it's expensive. Ok, enough said. For us, it was getting the highest sound quality we could get from our iPhones, iPODs, and iPads in a completely PORTABLE package with a well known and respected name on it. The price shouldn't matter. The Soundlink did exactly what we expected of it. And, our little "baby" pumps Lakme' Flower Duet so beautifully well, it's as if Mado Robin was in the room with us. Norah Jones voice is crystal clear. And a Verdi Mandolin piece high notes are crisp. We have had zero problems with our unit. Advice: Read the instructions! We did and we pair easily with the 5 devices we've selected for pairing. We even found a Targus small messenger bag that we use to transport the unit when were out and about. My hubby has also used the unit as an external speaker (wired).

Pros:

We have one!

Cons:

You don't and probably should!

Very easy to use and sounds great. Tried one of the Sony products first, but was really disappointed in the sound, so decided to try out this Bose. Extremely small and portable, case is built-in. Definitely get what you pay for with these bluetooth speaker systems. Don't waste your money on the cheaper products.

A superb well balanced sound, along with with excellent build quality. You will be amazed at the amount of volume and bass response available from such a small unit. Battery life is also excellent at normal volume levels. It connects superbly with all Bluetooth enable units. I could go on and on but all I can say to summarize is buy it. You will not be disappointed in any way.

Needed a new set of speakers for my laptop. Also wanted it more portable than needing a cable to hook up to my laptop. But was worried I'd lose bass without a proper speaker set (i.e. no woofer). I've been very pleased this solid little guy. I place it next to a wall and it really booms thoughtout the entire house. The bluetooth connects on the first try and I've carried it throughout the house. Cut out one time I think, but it's worked in the same place ever since. Took it up Up North for a weekend and used my phone to connect to my local sports station. Friends were really impressed with the sound when I played songs from my phone. Served it's purpose very well and would highly recommend even at this price.

Pros:

Big sound (much better than my old set w/woofer!), battery life seems good so far, bluetooth convenience or an ordinary aux cable. Feels like real solid construction.

Cons:

Pricey. But the last speaker set I had ($70ish) blew out in a few months and wasn't portable.

what can you say, it's Bose. Sounds Great. Given as a birthday gift to our Son. Son in law has one , too and they both LOVEM ........ compact and easy to use. I could have gotten the older version for a little cheaper but it didn't have "6 device" link memory capability which I thought was a needed option for easy multiple device usage. Buying experience from Crutchfields was Exceptional. Would buy again without Hesitation

I had a smaller Braven unit that sounded ok, but was not very tough. Returned that and purchased the Bose. Am happy with the quality and the performance. I use mine mostly with a MP3 player and it works great.

First of all, thank you Crutchfield for doing your part of the job nicely, as always. - I was seriously considering to return it and received a post card from Crutchfield. - and I decide to keep this speaker - just for the sake of supporting a good company that still is doing business the old fashion way.

As of the speaker itself: Due to the high review scores, I have some kind of high expectation. But the minute I set it up, oh boy, how disappointed I am! I can hear some sound out of it and that's it!! high and low? It's got be there but I cannot hear. Now after couple of weeks and playing different kinds of music in different rooms at different sound level, I would say in a quite room when playing certain music at certain volume, I actually can hear the "richness" of the sound to some extend, for this I think at least it worth half of the price. bluetooth paring: very easy for Nexus 4 (android), a little harder for an iPhone 5, but still easy, and have trouble to pair an old phone with Symbian

I have tried and returned the Jambox (why in the world did this tinny little thing get such good reviews?), the TDK A33 (good sound but wouldn't work with my ipad), the Creative D100 (gave this away - tried to return but vendor didn't think it was worth the postage and I agree) as well as Brookstone's Big Blue and Big Blue Live. None of them compare to the Bose which somehow has figured out how to get the best sound out of compressed audio files and to actually work well (pair easily - little interference with sound) with my ipad and iphone. I'm going with Bose from now on.

Pros:

Great sound. Portable. Has some sort of memory so pairs instantly with last device when you turn it on.

Cons:

Short battery life - which isn't a big issue for me. Expensive - but worth it.

Solid Sound!

We've had the speaker for about two weeks. It sounds great (the base is pretty amazing) and is easy to carry around wherever we want to listen to music. The only issue I have at this point is the Bluetooth connections. It states that 5 devices can connect. When we had some friends over, this became a very frustrating task. 5 devices could connect but we had a lot of trouble going back and forth playing music from every persons device. The directions make it sound easy so we'll have to follow step by step next time. Who reads directions anyway? Actually, you should always read directions with electronics.

Pros:

Great sound and portability.

Cons:

Bluetooth connections for multiple devices and the price is much higher than the Jawbone and Beats version. I would be interested to compare the sound of those devices.

Crutchfield shipped the product in a timely fashion, as promised. The Bose Soundlink product was disappointing though. I installed it and linked it to my iPhone, but after two songs it stopped working and failed to pair with any device. I had to spend an hour on the phone with Bose and was told it was faulty and to ship it back. Not what I bargained for a product at a premium price. Given the trade, go with Jambox.

Pros:

Good sound, while it lasted.

Cons:

Bluetooth stopped working after 5 minutes. Faulty product. Expensive. Need I go on?

Classy product; couple minor cons

This speaker is not cheap, but the quality lives up to the cost. It is a well built, solid performing unit. It looks great too, unlike the current competitors. It has overall amazing sound for such a small speaker. My wife and I travel a lot and often like to have music in the hotel or condo rooms. Also, we like a portable speaker for outdoor use.

I have a much less expensive Altec bluetooth speaker. It is nowhere near the quality either, so you get what you pay for. It's only audio advantage is a built in speakerphone for pairing with cell phones, which the Bose lacks. Also, the Altec has better treble than the Bose, which is a bit subdued without modest equalization from the laptop media player's equalizer.

Pros:

Rich, amazing sound. Compact form factor compared to current competitors, which is ideal for travelers. Decent battery life. Classy appearance compared to competitors. Would buy again, no regrets.

Cons:

Subdued treble, although not a deal breaker. Lack of speakerphone capability - again, not a deal breaker.
