    Features

Overview: With this InstallCard (42-1018) a professional installer will install a Mobile Video Player with Navigation into your vehicle. Installation includes removing the factory or aftermarket stereo system and mounting the unit in-dash or in an overhead console (where applicable), installing the GPS Antenna and connecting the unit to existing speakers or amplifier. Installation does not include mounting brackets or wiring adapter harnesses which may be extra. Visit www.InstallCard.com for more information.

Disclaimers: This InstallCard (42-1018) does not include the following installation costs:

    • If the factory wires or dashboard have been cut or damaged due to a previous non-professional installation or theft.
    • Onstar and some other factory security system play through the factory radio and the installation of an after factory stereo may require replacement modules.
    • If the in-dash DVD player has a satellite antenna that has to be mounted on the dashboard or the exterior of the vehicle.
    • In most cases the in-dash DVD player will also take the place of an existing car stereo. In some vehicles, this will require a non-standard installation or rewiring a factory amplifier or steering wheel controls.
    • Some vehicles may require optional mounting brackets or additional labor due to the complexity of the existing radio removal.
    • If the in-dash monitor or headrest has either an optional or required video input that is not built into the unit and has to be mounted separately in the vehicle (such as a Playstation, DVD or VCR, for example).
    • Most headrest units will have a wireless FM modulator that will play the sound through the vehicle's stereo system. If you don't have an FM mod.and you would like one hardwired to the vehicle, there will be additional parts and labor.
    • This InstallCard covers a single pre-loaded headrest and not a pair of headrests.

Defective Equipment: If the equipment installed is found to be defective, or becomes defective after installation, the following apply:

    • If the equipment is determined to be defective during the process of installation, or immediately after (before the customer leaves the facility), the installer will remove and reinstall the replacement equipment at no charge. If the customer leaves the installer's facility, and discovers the equipment is defective, the customer will be responsible for 50% of the charge to have it removed and a replacement item reinstalled.
    • If the equipment is determined to be defective within a period of no longer that one year, and within the manufacturer's warranty, Installer Net will cover 50% of the charge to remove and reinstall replacement equipment. If the customer chooses to remove non-defective equipment (exchanging for a different brand, for example), Installer Net will charge for a completely new installation.

    Installcard = BAD DEAL!

Written By Love_Crutchfield_Hate_Installcard, Maine on Friday, April 19, 2013
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Installcard is not something I would ever do again. Installernet adds a hefty premium on top of what the installer actually charges so if you simply found your own installer you'd pay much less. In my case the installer told me he'd ordinarily have charged less than the amount of the install card for my job. What made matters worse, the installer delivered my vehicle with a nasty noise problem and wanted me to schedule a 2nd appointment to correct. I ended up taking my dash apart and fixing it myself.
    Pros:
Thought installer would be qualified the the value and quality standards I expect from Crutchfield.
    Cons:
Over-charged for under-quality! Installer delivered my vehicle with a nasty noise problem which I ended up fixing myself.

    Good Choice

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I would normally replace a radio on my own, but adding GPS and the microphone made me decide to go with a professional. They know the best location for the antenna and can run the new wiring faster and cleaner than I could. They did the installation quickly and were very professional.. They even gave me the tour of the unit when it was done, including setting up my home GPS location and the first few radio stations.
    Pros:
    Very professional and helpful
    Cons:
I was a little unsure of setting up an appointment with an unknown company before I was notified who would be doing the work.

A Real Treat - Excellent Service - A Must Buy

Written By pflugerbird, Austin, TX on Saturday, February 11, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Was given many choices for an installation professional - I chose the one where they come to your location to install - I was totally blown away - Very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman did an excellent job - Looked like a factory install in all respects. I checked prices around my area for similar services and it was right in line with the price of the card. If it's complicated or you don't want to do it yourself - this is an outstanding buy.
    Pros:
Many choices of reputable professional installers - One that comes to your location is AWESOME!
    Cons:
None - Price is competitive - service was excellent - can't go wrong.

Las Vegas Installer Bad Bad Bad

Local installer was a window tint shop, they aren't fit for dash installs. They scratched my dash in 3 places, head unit fell behind dash TWICE, and they insisted on putting the Sirius antenna under the dash result, I have lousy reception, I will have to pay for a new dash panel and a re-install somewhere else. They never did get my iPod going, I had to fiddle for 2 hours to get it to work (took a reset ) Very unhappy

I tried to set up an appointment for three days. I called and sent 3 emails. All went unanswered. I needed to have install done before the wife came back to town and I explained in emails.

Trying to get these guys on the phone was a joke.

Finally made an tmappoinent myself which was done when I needed. Great install.

    InstallCard

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I liked the idea of having a Cruchfield recommendation for the installer since I didn't have any place in mind. The install shop was not only close to my home, but they were great to work with. They were able to meet the date and time I requested, plus they gave me lots of information about the unit and accessories I purchased. I ended up buying speakers from them and they installed everything quickly and perfectly. They even helped me set up my phone and iPod once it was done. I'd definitely go back to them again!

I liked the idea of this card, but the place that hooked my unit up was not that great with customer service. They scratched my lower dash and denied that they did it, then charged me for the instalation of the rear view camera. I think that you should be able to see the place that is going to be installing the unit before you go there.

    InstallCard: In-dash Navigation

Written By NJZGuy, New Jersey on Saturday, September 13, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you're having a lot of gear installed as I did (head unit, four speakers, two-speaker sub-woofer unit and amp) and have little or no audio installation experience, I highly recommend the InstallCard services, which can save you money and potential grief getting everything hooked up. Note that your actual installation experience may vary depending on which InstallNet audio shop in your area that you choose. If any additional work is required, you'll have to pay out of pocket for it, of course.

I wasn't comfortable with the first installation site I picked. So I called InstallNet and they set up an appointment without any hassles with another local shop that I felt more comfortable entrusting my car with, that did a great job with my install.

Just watching the guys that did the install, I saw that there were so many areas where even with the instructions, I could have made some costly mistakes that would have required paying more than once to "get the job done right" if I did it myself-not to mention that it would have taken me days instead of the five hours it took them to complete the install.

    Who certifies these installers?

Written By Erik, Raleigh, NC on Monday, March 03, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought a Pioneer in-dash navigation unit, w/ Bluetooth, iPod adapter, and HD tuner to install in our new Acadia. It is a new car and I thought I'd save time and headache by purchasing this card and letting a "professional" do the installation. What a BIG mistake! I showed up for my appointment and was told it would take 4 hours to do the install. I thought this was rather long, but I figured they were taking extra time to make sure everything was right. I waited for the 4 hours and when I asked how much longer the install would take, I was told that they hadn't even started on it! Thanks for the heads-up there buddy! Peeved and having no more time to wait, I said I would have it there first thing the next morning.

I drop my car off at 9 the next morning, this time they tell me it will be 2 o'clock until they are done. I get a call at 11:30 from the tech telling me he needs some help finishing the install. Are you kidding? When I arrived, he said he couldn't get the HD tuner to work and that he tried to call Crutchfield, waited on hold for 30 min and gave up. I knew better and by this time, I wanted my car back as soon as possible so I call Crutchfield and I am talking to a very helpful tech within 5-10 min. We finally determine that I have a defective HD tuner and Crutchfield had another one to me within 2 days. Needless to say I installed it myself as well as reconfiguring the Bluetooth unit because that was hooked up improperly!

I love Crutchfield and I hate that this buisiness is associated with them.

Professionally Done But Not Well Explained

Written By Bill, Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, March 02, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had the AVIC -D3X professionally installed and the installer did a great job. My only complaint is that he forgot to tell me that I needed to have my parking brake pulled (in place) for many of the navigation items to work, including inputting the destination and setting up the system. (This is actually a safety item, so that the car is not rolling when these items are being inserted.) I did call both Crutchfield and the installer card group the next morning who were quick to tell me about the parking brake. I was able to figure everything else out by myself, and it now runs extremely well. It took the installer roughly 3.5 hours to complete the installation, including reciever, bluetooth and IPOD adapter. It now looks like it was part of the original car. If you are uncertain about installing this rather complicated piece of hardware yourself, using a professional installer is the way to go.

    Worth every penny!

Written By Anonymous, San Diego, CA on Sunday, October 14, 2007
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was really nervous about buying this card, thinking they would send me to some run down place in a bad part of town with a generic name like "Joe's Audio" or something. But I was 100% wrong! They hooked me up with one of the best custom shops in San Diego - and the install looks amazing! Everyone there was helpful, and took time after the install to show me everything about my system and exactly where everything was put. Very high quality. I got the card for $199 and got an install worth easily $500. What a great deal!
