Accele

Our take on the Accele RVCLPMB

by Buck Pomerantz

Thin rear-view camera for your license plate

The safety of those behind your vehicle depends on you having a good view when you're backing up — especially when something's too small to be seen with your regular mirrors. Accele's RVCLPMB rear-view camera mounts on the top or bottom of your license plate to make sure you can get the full picture, from the best angle. You can even swivel the little camera in its housing for a better shot.

The sleek water-resistant metal case almost disappears on your license plate frame, adding a cool stealthiness to the design. The CCD-based color camera shows a clear image even under extreme low-light conditions.

Highlights:

  • rear-view license plate camera
  • black cast metal case
  • mounts in top or bottom position
  • camera swivels for best vertical view
  • 0.1 lux CCD-based camera sees clearly, even in low-light conditions
  • 170-degree wide viewing angle
  • 23' RCA video cable included
  • warranty: 1 year
  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

    Great camera!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this camera. It has a great range. I mounted it on my 03 Sequoia and have had great success with it. It works wonderful with my new Pioneer deck. I like it because it is easily adjustable. The biggest thing is to get the viewing area exactly how you like it. I needed mine angled more downward to see things in my garage and when street parking. Others might want it angled higher to see kids playing behind them. Either option works wonderfully. I really like how slim and easy it mounts on my truck.
    Pros:
Easy of mount and angle range
    Cons:
    None so far

    awesome camera

Written By Jared, Va Beach, VA on Wednesday, April 10, 2013
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Awesome camera. Very clear image. The fisheye from the wideangle lens is a little bit to get used to. Installed in a 99 dodge ram quad cab long bed. Had plenty of wire in the kit. One part of crutchfield said it comes with 16' of cord and the other says 24'. I'm leaning more towards the 24' coming in the kit. Instructions are a little vague though. Took a little common sense, (and a working knowledge considering I'd just done it 2 days before). lol. All in all an awesome product and the perfect addition to any full size pickup as mine is on 35's and is about a chore to park on a good day. lol! That being said i recommend this to everyone in the market!
    Pros:
awesome picture even at night, adjustable, plenty of cord for full size long wheelbase truck,
    Cons:
    vague instructions

Not a bad price for a stylish great working camera but if installing into a larger vehicle you will need a longer composite video cable (25' is what I needed on my 2500 quad cab)
    Pros:
    Very stylish and useful
    Cons:
Cable not long enough and no type of detailed instructions for installation

    good camera for the money!

Written By chode, easthampton,ma on Friday, February 22, 2013

so far this is a great camera for the price. very durable feeling and has an attractive black chrome finish. the backup grids work very well and are accurate as i tested this on my trash can. install was a bit tricky on my 08' D.C. Tundra and i had to buy a 24' video cable (perfect length) as the 16' one that came with it did not even come close. the screen is crisp in the day and night is a bit snowy but comfortable visible. this looks great on my D.D. Pioneer 7" screen and now i have a bit more confidence backing up.
    Pros:
    price, fit&finish, very good picture
    Cons:
NO INSTRUCTIONS and short video cable for trucks

    Worth the money

Great buy for the money, looks good and seems to be made of quality materials. Works great, no complaints. Wire up the camera before you install it, and save yourself 5 minutes turning it over. Don't be dicouraged by all of the cons, just want to inform of everything. Would definately buy again/recomend to a friend.
    Pros:
price looks easy install nothing fancy, does what it is supposed to great viewing angle
    Cons:
Can't tell which way is up on camera, but easy install makes up for that no paperwork, directions, or anything. just camera in box. Thank you tech help, Crutchfield customer service is outstanding. not picture quality clear like $200+ cameras, but it does job, and good enough to see anything on ground Cable just long enough to reach dodge ram quad cab

Nice looking mount,, but no installation directions

Written By Doug, Lake Worth, Fl on Sunday, August 05, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It is good looking and is made of quality materials. The video image is quite good. There is some image saturation when backing towards the sun. Although installation is pretty obvious, I was dissatisfied with the lack of any installation instructions regarding which way is up and whether or not the visible screws are for adjusting the up/down angle of the camera??? Still haven't tried the adjustment beacuse the image is not too far off in vertical adjustment. I think that angling it down somewhat would make the sunlight overexposure problem less pronounced. There is an overlay which appears on the image to indicate danger zones when backing, but no audible collision imminent warning as in the newer factory installed rear view camera / sensors.
    Pros:
    Quality, Appearance
    Cons:
Lack of installation / alignment directions. Video saturation with strong light sources.

Very clear, color resolution on the pioneer dvd screen. 16 ft cable just barley long enough for extended cab, double cab buyers will probably need longer cable.
    Pros:
Very clear picture and easy to install
    Cons:
    No intstructions,
