    Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for power and control. Polypropylene woofers are also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

    Santoprene Surrounds: The woofer surrounds are made of Santoprene rubber to allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. Santoprene is durable and resists moisture for a long life.

    3/4" Titanium Dome Tweeters: The 3/4" titanium dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.

    1" Titanium Dome Midrange: The 1" titanium dome midranges provide a strong response in the critical midrange band where the majority of the vocals are located. Like the tweeters, the midranges are also equipped with strong neodymium magnets.

    Grilles: The KS693s include graphite-colored high-impact plastic grilles. The grilles include black plastic mounting rings which attach to the speaker frames. The grilles snap into place over the mounting rings.

    These speakers really are great. The bass is outstanding, The highs are pretty average. I have these hooked up to a Sony Xplod amp that outputs 75 watts Rms x4 and these speakers sound amazing. The only thing that could be better was if the high's and the mid's were a little crisper. These speakers were built for bass and will not disappoint you.

    Just as the title of this review suggests......these Kicker 6 X 9 three way speakers are a great value, they sound amazing, the build quality is awesome, and the price through Crutchfield is excellent.

    I've had these installed in a 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5S sedan in the rear deck for a little over 9 months now. Despite Crutchfield saying that they will notfit.....they do. I had them professionally installed, and the installer said that he did not need to make any special adjustments or modifications for them to fit.

    Immediately, they were an upgrade over the stock Clarion 6 X 9 speakers that came with the car. The sound and range were much improved....the bass sounded deep, responsive, more true and natural.....and the mids and highs were a HUGE improvement over the Clarions. Volumes that used to be near distortion level with the stock speakers are now much clearer through the same JVC KW-NT3HDT Navigation receiver that I purchased through Crutchfield last year. I have these speakers paired with a set of Kicker KS6.2 6-1/2" components in the front, and the sound is truly amazing. I don't have a sub or an amp currently installed, and it sounds terrific. I'll probably add an amp at some point, but the bass that these produce is good enough that as long as you aren't trying to shake the fenders off of your car or win contests, they will definitely get the job done. (I probably won't even add a sub to go with them)

    Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend these speakers.

    Cons:
    Nothing concerning the speakers....but the Crutchfield guide that "shows you what fits" says that they will not fit in my car (and other vehicles).....but they do.

    Excellent for the simple speaker upgrade!!!!!

    I have a 2010 Mitsubishi Galant and I didn't want to change out my head unit because it's built into my dash so I wanted to get the best bang for my buck without breaking my bank account, while also getting good sound. These Kicker 6x9 in my rear deck do just that. Excellent highs that are not to overwhelming and tingle the ear. The bass is PERFECT. I turned my volume up to max and it still was perfect with absolutely zero distortion of sound quality. I purchased the 6 1/2 KS speakers for the front so they can be uniform. I will be putting them in tomorrow. But for now these are awesome. And all of that with the stock head unit. I can't believe it. The speakers do need to be broken in to reach there full potential but even now they sound great. Some people may say they sound just like the stock speakers but most stock speakers don't have the power these can deliver even at max capacity. I can truly Live Louder with these speakers. Look for my review for the 6.5 KS as well.

    Quality Expected From Kicker

    I put these speakers in SO Bass Bunker boxes and wired them up to a 100x2 watt amp. They sit underneath my back seat in my '97 Ext. Cab Chevy 1500 and provide just the "thump" I want. In a sealed box, they will slightly distort when really low bass hits (<100Hz), but that's cause they are made for car trunks and such. The tweeters sound fantastic and even though the bass doesn't compare to most subwoofer systems, they will produce bass and you won't be disappointed if you are looking to improve your bass and not rattle the tin in your vehicle. All in all, a good product and I will buy Kicker's again.
    Pros:
    Good bass, bright highs. Quality build.
    Cons:
    Reason for 4 stars--> Absolutely no instructions on how to mount grilles. No holes for screws, no clips for clamping or snapping on. Had to put velcro (double-sided tape works fine too) on the grille and the speaker's frame to get it to hold. Perhaps a fluke, but a fluke that if prevented could have given this product 5 stars.

    They sound great even without an amp. Very happy with kicker. I wanted a 6x9 that would have some bass and kicker was my only choice. got them when they were on sale with free ear buds which sound pretty good too. also, the tech said they wouldn't fit in my caliber but the did in the rear doors.

    Although they say they don't fit in a 05 Dodge Ram 1500 they will with slight mods. You will have to take the backing plate off OEM speakers and place on back of these. As far as sound quality they are heavily improved compared to OEM, but what wouldn't be. I am plessed with the set, but will be better once I install amps and take off of head unit amplification.

    They sound really good.. Unfortunately my Chrysler vehicle had an Infinity speaker package which includes individual speaker amps that can't be used and thus the low frequency attenuation is lost. I plan on adding an 800 watt 4 channel amp to fix that. Rewiring ALL the speakers is needed. Anyway, they were simple to install, and I highly recommend them because they have great frequency response and are a fantastic value.

    I came into ownership of the stereotypical "Grandmother's Oldsmobile." She didn't want to drive anymore, so I received her 1988 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham. Garage kept, under 81k miles; and the stock stereo (cassette!) and speakers. So, yeah, sounded bad. Really bad. Used some saved up cash for a pair of rear speakers; and based on reviews here & elsewhere I bought these.

    Wow, what a difference even just the rear speakers make. I replaced the stock stereo with a Sony XPlod head unit with CD player (which I'll likely never use) and the coveted AUX input for the iPhone. I moved most of the audio to the rear, and it still sounds amazing. Someday when I have the money I'll replace the front speakers, but until then even with the stock tweeters in the front & these Kickers in the rear, I'm set. Crisp high end but not tinny; and bass that honestly surprised me with the "thump" it provides, all without an amp of any kind. I wussed out & had them installed professionally as I don't have a garage at my home and it was freezing cold at the time of the install.

    Perhaps it depends on the head unit, i don't know; but other reviews that say the sound is bad or an amp is needed is relative. I don't need an amp, the sound is great & my ears are happy. Highly recommended. A previous review said these sounded great in a pickup truck cab; the sound is that much better in a car. Terrific product.
    Pros:
    The sound; the deep thumping bass; the high end sound is tuned nearly perfectly, and the mids are quite sufficient.
    Cons:
    Absolutely none.

    I replaced every speaker in my minivan. And of them all these I am most disappointed in. All the reviews I read said these are great at those lows you want to hear and that is bogus. I believe if you replace all the speakers in your vehicle it should sound as good if not better than before and you should not have to buy a set of subs and an amp to "round out" the sound in you car. However with the subs installed they do sound nice

    I run 2 pr of these 6x9s in my pickup. And let me just say they are out standing. I use to run infinitis and then polk, until i tried these. They are crystal clear no matter what volume you play them at. And the sonic response is far above any other 6x9s on the market today. you can crank them till your eardrums are about to burst. And then you still want to keep turning them up. Even at when cranked there is absolutely 0 distortion. They are the most realistic live sounding speakers bar none. I am constantly getting stopped by the youngsters asking me what i have in my system. And when i let them sit in side, its so cool to see the look on their faces. they are just amazed. System total $814. 2pr kicker 6x9s, 1pr 4x6, 1 12"sub (kicker cvr dvc) 1-4 channel 600 watt max amp, 1-600 watt mono amp,1pr tweeters and clarion cz501 head unit. And all the cables and wires required. Good luck all and keep on rockn/jammin. I know i will.

    This is my second pair you can't go wrong buying these speakers. If you like Highs
    only and don't like having a sub well with these you don't need a sub. They out put good
    low clean bass and great mids along with the tweeters. Don't forget these are made for
    highs set the crossover just right and these things are going to sound loud! As KICKER
    likes to put it Living LOUD. Let me tell you I have four 6x9s and people think I got subs. I
    can only have the volume up for so long because my ears start to hurt. This happens
    with the Vol set at 15 and I can turn it up to 21 and still they will play clear.
