They connect directly to most MP3 players, but also include a full-sized 1/4" adapter for home audio receivers, as well as a 2.5mm headphone adapter for select cell phones. An innovative folding mechanism allows these 'phones to collapse down to a super-compact size for easy carrying. And the advanced driver design ensures clarity and accuracy over a wide frequency range, just like you get with AKG's traditional on-ear models.

The K 450s come with two detachable, single-sided cables, so you can pick the length that's right for you. The cushioned earpads and headband are designed for hours of comfortable listening. And an included carrying case gives you easy storage.

The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones are lightweight and provide a comfortable fit. The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones are foldable and include a carrying case for added convenience.

    Note: Although the packaging says "Navy", the headphones are dark gray/black in color.

    Comfortable Fit: The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones feature a lightweight design, leatherette padded ear-cups, and adjustable headband to provide a comfortable fit.

    Headphone Design: The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones feature a closed-back design that naturally attenuates ambient noise for a more relaxed listening experience.

    Headphone Cable: The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones utilize a detachable single-sided 99.99% oxygen-free cable (OFC) terminated by a gold-plated 3.5mm connector for maximum signal transfer and sound quality. There are two headphone cable lengths supplied (24" & 44").

    Note: The headphones also include a 1/8"-to-1/4" adapter and a 3.5mm-to-2.5mm adapter.

    3D-Axis Folding Design: The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones feature a unique 3D-Axis folding mechanism for ease of handling, storing, and transporting.

    Storage Case: The AKG K 450 mini-on-ear headphones comes supplied with a carrying case that features polyester construction and a zippered closure to protect the headphones during transport or storage.

    I need a pair of closed, on ear headphones for the office and settled on these after researching. First thing I noticed after unboxing was that unlike my AKG K701's that are made in Austria, these are "Designed in Austria" and made in China. Extremely bass heavy with muffled mids & highs out of the box. Burned them in with a mix of music for 3 days and gave them another listen. They sounded much better but still quite an emphasis on the low end. Tried running them through a desktop headphone amp to see if it would change the sound but no luck. They are very efficient & didn't respond much to the amplification. I purchased the AKGs hoping for accurate sound like the 701's but in a portable headphone but the mids and high frequencies are WAY too laid back for my taste. If you like the sound of a good car stereo but with dual subs dominating the sound then these are your dream cans. Thought about keeping them for my son but one of the ear pieces on mine would not rotate freely and made a popping noise when turned. Since the only thing holding the ear piece on is the small plastic peg that was sticking they had to go back. As always, Crutchfield's support to the customer when the product doesn't work out, for whatever reason, is beyond comparison. I'll try the Beyerdynamic DT1350 & Pioneer SE-MJ591. Build looks great on both (but at 3x the price of these AKGs). Always better to spend more & get what you'll enjoy than settle & regret your purchase every time you use it.
    Pros:
    Look great. Very nice carrying case. Adapters and different length cables included. For on ear cans these are very comfortable and make a nice seal on the ear to block out sound. No sound leakage (no one around you will hear them at all).
    Cons:
    Sound quality. Build quality where ear piece connects to head band.

    AKG K 450 are the best headphones for this price, was reviewing GradoSR80i and then finalised on this with the help from Crutchfield's experts. I'm using this along with Fiio E11 and very happy with the sound quality. First time shopping with Crutchfield and all I can tell you is that the service/support and knowledge on the product is very very good. Thank you.
    Pros:
    - good bass - amazing clarity - best comfort
    Cons:
    - none worth mentioning. I would definately recommend reviewing AKG K 451 for users who want mic funtion.
