Cymbals sound like cymbals, voices sound like voices, guitar strings like guitar strings...i think you get the point. Get these!

Pros:

Sound quality, efficiency, durability, price, what else is there?

Surface mount angles awkward

Great sound

Very good sound. Added a very clear treble element to my truck that was missing from the factory tweeters. Little tricky to install, but that's because there's no mounting bracket. Had to make one myself. Overall excellent buy and very pleased.

These tweeters were suggested by Crutchfield tech after I told him my Bose Marine speakers sounded good, but not great. I already had a 300 w power amp on the Bose, but after adding an Access tech woofer and these Polk tweeters, the sound improved 10-fold. I love them.

Pros:

Small, easy to install, look good, GREAT sound. Really brings out the highs. It really helps that they are marine grade so they can get wet.

Cons:

None that I can think of.

Polk Audio Tweeters

Ive got these tweeters mounted in my stock tweeter pods in my 02 mustang gt and the sound amazing, powered just off the headunit, cannot wait to do the polk DB door speakers aswell

dont use for 2012 ford focus usless u can mod and glue alot to make it fit. installation is possible, but not an easy fit. Sound is what you would expect for a tweeter, but not much more.

Pros:

sound is better than OEM

Cons:

bad fit for 2012 focus

Great Speakers! I actually was only going to replace the door speakers in my truck, but decided to get these too....Glad I did! Install manual is vague... So, to save you trouble...The Grey wire/Red Trace is Positive from the stereo to the crossover AND, from the crossover to the speaker. Took me a couple hours to install...But only because I wanted to use the stock brackets.....And I am extremely picky! After an hour+ ....Gave up on using the Nissan stock mounts....They Will NOT work... or more precisely, they would look bad! And who wants a bad looking install? Save yourself the trouble, pop the holes, insert the "cup" & be done with it. I am only powering the 2-Db651's & these Db1001's with my receiver " a "Pioneer DEH-P310UB" & it sounds great. The 1001's come with the Wiring if you were wondering. Went from the dash to the receiver with about 8" to spare. Crutchfield was Great as always!

The instruction manual ( polk ) is worthless for my db1001 tweeters. It doesn't explain how to mount or even more importantly, how to wire the speakers. They give you this strange little resistor packet or crossover, or whatever it is, with no explanation as to what it is, or what I'm supposed to do with it. The crutchfield manual tells me that I'm supposed to fashion a mounting bracket for these speakers. WHAT? And it doesn't even hint as to how I'm supposed to do that! I was able to mount the db651s speakers easily enough, but the supplied wiring harness is garbage, and I'll have to redo it. Can't give an actual review on the speakers until I can figure out how to mount and wire the stupid things.Not happy with POLK at all. Not sure about crutchfield yet.

I installed these awesome tweeters in my 2006 Ford Ranger ex-cab, and they compliment my system very well and open up the soundscape to a new level. I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer DEH-P8300UB, which is awesome, and paired together I am able to hear more of the music than ever before. I can hear intricate guitar parts and vocal harmonies that were muddled before, and the quality of the sound makes you feel like your listening to a live performance! These tweeters actually have that quality, to take the listener into the center of the music and make you "feel like your part of it", when your listening to music in your car, or in my case, my truck. Polk provides mounting hardware for multiple applications which is great, everything you need is in the box which is also nicely packaged. The install was super easy because they went into existing locations and I was done in less than one hour. I reccomend this product to anyone who is looking to enhance their stereo system and "be part of the music"! So get yourself a couple of pairs and "get INTO your music". :^)

I bought these tweeters for my boyfriend's birthday a couple weeks ago. He has upgraded his stereo system in his '07 Dodge Ram with speakers, subs, an amp, and a pioneer flip-out stereo headunit. He said the only thing that was missing was a set of tweeters. He was so excited when he opened these up and had them installed right away. His truck sounds 10X better than before! The Polk tweeters balance the sound out perfectly and create that crisp smooth tone to any song. Amazing product for a great price and fast shipping! Highly recommend.

Installed these tweeters in the front door pillar of an F150 SuperCab, coupled with MM571's in the front door and db571's in the rear. Big difference in presence and staging. I listen to a lot of jazz and vocals and they really bring out the high end, even in an otherwise noisy truck. I was not dissappointed. Their actually a 4 1/2 rating. Now all I have to do is install a sub!

At first I was a little concerned after installing these POLK AUDIO db1001's in my FJ Cruiser dash because these little tweeters were loud and overpowering my door woofers a bit.... But then I discovered that when I turned down my treble on my FJAMMER head unit (factory stereo that is very underated -- I actually love this Toyota FJammer and it has great power!! -- not a normal factory head as you might expect).... Once I turned my treble down on the FJammer, I now have the best blend ever of all my component speakers in my car (Co-Axial woofers in door 6x9), (Bazooka 3.5-inch rear pillars in back), and an (6.5-inch Bazooka Sub in back)...

Anyway, my car is really dialed in with fantastic, controlled, beautiful sound --- the frequencies are all covered nicely and blend well... These POLK AUDIO tweeters are a HUGE part of the overall clean sound and can handle it when I crank up the volume very loud... HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!..... very happy!!!!!

Sweet!!

I installed 2 sets in November of 07 on my 03 F-150 along with some 6X7 momos and they sound sweet! The highs are detailed and sound crisp. I have to recommend these to anyone looking to get a set or two, they are definitely worth it!

I just replaced the dash-mounted 3 1/2s in my Grand Cherokee with these tweeters. They sound great - very crisp and clear, and much better than any 3 1/2s I've heard. It was a very worthwhile upgrade. I'm giving them a 4 because the installation was pretty bad. The instructions in the book didn't really match what was in the box. I expected better than that from Polk.

replaced factory tweeters in my 2008 jeep w/o infinity system...not an easy job in new jeeps. be prepared to take out most of your dash. polk has 1 owners manual for all their speakers, though these tweeters were listed on the cover of the manual they werent mentioned anywhere in the manual. crutchfield doesnt supply wiring harness from 2008 wrangler factory harness(youll have to splice). the positive, they sound very good , very crisp highs, and were reasonably priced. just a pain to install in the factory mounted tweeters in a jeep. that being said, you install them once you listen to them daily so definitely worth it.

Good Metallic Tweets

The first thing you'll notice about these tweeters is sheer weight. They use a larger magnet than most, which is a good indication that they can take alot more abuse than those little plastic tweeters. The crossover is not "adjustable" per say, its actually more like a big in-line bass-blocker than a crossover, but it makes for an easier install without a big box to hide.

They get pretty loud and are reliable, my only complaint would be that metallic tweeters are a little harsh on the ears (but some people like it that way).

order kicker tweeter wasn't happy return them got this open the box. packed them back up and sent them back to cruthfield. i looked in the owner manual i thought crossover u got was adjustable. polk has one manual for all the speaker. crossover was a circuit board in a big piece of heat shrink, not even a plastic case. for this price thought u would at least get that.
