easy three-speaker systems?
Video: Bose® 3·2·1® Series III Home Entertainment Systems
In this short video, Ralph and Chris review Bose's 3·2·1 GS and GSX Series III home entertainment systems.
Chris: Hi, I'm Chris.
Ralph: And I'm Ralph. And we're here in the Crutchfield studios today to talk about the Bose® 3·2·1 GS and GSX Series III home entertainment systems. Now, what we have here is the GSX system with the graphite speakers. The speakers for both these systems come in either graphite or silver.
Chris: These systems just give you a really simple way to add famous Bose® sound to your room.
Ralph: They do.
Chris: You get a media center that plays DVDs, CDs, or the radio. And two stereo speakers — nice and compact, lightweight. Plus, an Acoustimass® module that takes care of all the low bass frequencies with all your TV shows, movies, and music.
Chris: You get really spacious, deep sound.
Ralph: Yeah, that's a good way to describe it. The nice thing about this system is that it is very compact, as you can see. You can hide the Acoustimass® module just about anyplace — in the corner of the room is a good example. These (speakers) fit very well onto a bookshelf. And this (media center) replaces a whole stack of components. You don't need a separate DVD player, an AM/FM tuner — it's all right here.
Ralph: Looks very nice underneath your TV. And the nice thing about Bose® systems is that they're easy to set up. They give you all the instructions you need, and all the cables you need.
Chris: You've got that right. Bose® even includes an HDMI cable, which is great news for people who have a high-definition TV. If you do, this media console can actually upconvert your DVD video to 1080p resolution, which is the highest it can go, and send the signal to your HDTV. So you get an amazing picture every time.
Ralph: Right. Now, as I said, we have here the GSX system. The only real difference between this and the GS system is that this has uMusic inside. What that means is it's a very simple way that Bose® has come up with to let you create and maintain a digital music library. Instead of having to root through a bunch of CDs, all you do is take your CDs, load them in here one at a time, press the "store" button, and the music is copied over to the media center. Once it's in there, all you have to do is just use your remote and you're good to go. Press the uMusic button. You can play individual songs, a whole album. You can rate the songs — "I like this, I don't like that so much." And you can create playlists, which is nice.
Chris: Right. You can have separate ones for dinner, parties, exercise, or even make one for the kids.
Chris: The nice thing about this uMusic, too, is that it actually learns your preferences, right? So over time, it can start suggesting songs from your library.
Ralph: Yes, right. So you could actually just start with a song, and not have to worry about what comes next because you know it's going to work.
Chris: It takes care of the rest.
Ralph: Now the other nice thing about this is that it also works with other Bose® components in a multi-room system. You can find out more about how Bose® multi-room systems work together by going to our website. The address is crutchfield.com/Bosemultiroom
