General Features

Overview: The Sony MHS-TS10 Bloggie Touch camera can record Full 1080 high definition MPEG-4 video and 12.8 megapixel still images. The integrated software allows you to share your videos and pictures on your favorite social media websites like Facebook or YouTube. You can record up to 2 hours of HD video on the built-in 4 GB flash memory.

3" LCD Screen: The Bloggie Touch features a large 3" LCD touch screen with 288,000 dots for recording and viewing your videos and still pictures. It has a resolution of 720 x 400 dots. The screen will automatically rotate its orientation depending upon how you hold the camera.

Lens: The camera is equipped with a bright F2.8 lens with a fixed focal length of 5.3mm. When converted to a 35mm still camera, the equivalent focal length is 37mm for 16:9 movies and still images and 32mm for 4:3 still images. The Auto Macro feature lets you focus on your subject as little as 4" away. The 4x digital zoom is controlled by sliding your finger across the LCD touch screen.

CMOS Sensor: The Sony Bloggie Touch camera features a 7.35mm (1/2.5") Sony Exmor CMOS sensor with 13,011,000 gross pixels. The effective number of pixels is 12,780,000 (4128 x 3096) for 4:3 still images, 8,294,000 (3840 x 2160) for 16:9 still images and 2,073,600 (1920 x 1080, 30p) for movies.

4 GB Internal Memory: This camera has 4 GB of internal memory for recording up to 2 hours of HD video or over 600 12MP still images. The camera does not have a slot for external memory.

Recording Formats: The Bloggie Touch camera lets you record your favorite moments in High Definition MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) with AAC audio. Still images are captured in JPEG format.

Dual Record Buttons: The camera features separate "Movie" and "Still" buttons that allow you to seamlessly switch from video recording to still photo capture by pressing the appropriate button, without the need to switch shooting modes.

Face Detection: The unit uses Face Detection technology to recognize human faces and optimize camera settings for video and still images.

SteadyShot: The Bloggie Touch is equipped with Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization technology to help reduce blur caused by camera shake.

Self-Timer: You can set the Self-Timer mode to a 10-second or 2-second delay so you can be in the picture or movie.

Multi-Language Menu: You can choose from 4 languages for the camera's menu, including English, French, and Spanish.

Index Playback Screen: The Index Screen will display up to 15 thumbnails of video clips or still images.

Flip-out USB: The Bloggie Touch features a flip-out USB (Type A USB male) arm that lets you connect the camera directly to your PC for uploading pictures and videos. You can also charge the battery via USB. A 6-1/2" USB extension cable is included in case the computer's USB port is recessed.

Tagging: The pre-installed software allows you to "tag" videos and still images in the camera for sharing later. The "tagged" files are placed in a queue and uploaded automatically the next time the camera is connected to a computer.

Beep Confirmation: The Bloggie Touch beeps to confirm functions. This feature can be turned off in the menu, if desired.

Video Functions

Video Recording: The camera will record movies in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264, at 30 or 60 frames per second, depending upon the image size selected. You can record continuously for approximately 29 minutes. MPEG-4 is a popular multimedia format that compresses the size of your audio and video, making your media files small enough to easily transfer to your compatible PC or Mac. MPEG-4 is also highly compatible with the Web, so you can effortlessly upload your media to popular photo or video-sharing websites like Photobucket or YouTube (compatible PC with internet capability required).

Video Resolution: With the Bloggie Touch, you can choose from the following movie image sizes:

Recording Capacity: The camera uses a Variable Bit Rate to automatically adjust image quality to suit the recording scene. This causes fluctuations in the recording time of the internal memory. Movies containing quickly moving and complex images are recorded at a higher bit rate, which reduces total recording time. The approximate minimum and maximum recording times are as follows:

Still Image Functions

Still Image Recording: The Bloggie Touch camera can take sharp JPEG still images up to 12 megapixels in size. There are three still image sizes to choose from, with the following approximate number if images that can be stored in the built in 4 GB memory:

Playback Zoom: When viewing a single still image on the camera's LCD screen you can enlarge the image 2x, 4x, or 8x by "double tapping" on the screen. Once the image is enlarged, you can pan left to right and up or down through the image.

Deleting/Protecting Images: You can delete a selected image, or you can delete all the unprotected images at once. In order to avoid accidentally deleting an image, it can be protected.

Battery Information

Built-in Battery: The camera has a built-in Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery (NP-SP70). It charges continuously whenever it is connected (via USB) to a running computer. A fully depleted battery can be brought to a full charge in approximately 200 minutes. Approximate recording/playback times are:

Connections

HDMI Output: You can connect the Bloggie Touch to an HDTV via HDMI for playback of high definition video and still images. The camera has a mini-HDMI jack (Type C connector). A mini-HDMI-to-HDMI cable is needed (such as item # 158VMC15MH or 158VMC30MH).

USB 2.0 Arm: The camera includes a flip-out Type-A USB interface and a 6.5" extension cable to connect this camera to a compatible PC or Mac for fast transfer of video and still images and charging the battery.

Tripod Compatible: The Bloggie Touch camera can also be mounted to a tripod for added stability when capturing video or still images. The camera has a standard 1/4" tripod receptacle.

Integrated Software

Bloggie Software: The Bloggie Touch camera contains pre-installed Bloggie Software (Version 1.0) for importing images to a computer, and upload images to a network service. When the camera is first connected to your computer through the flip-out USB connection, the software can be uploaded to the computer.
