Features
Overview: The Polk Audio DXi Series 3-1/2" two-way speakers
(DXi350) are great in-dash or rear seat speakers. The DXi Series speakers utilize various Polk Audio
technologies for legendary Polk sound in your vehicle.
High Efficiency Design: The Polk Audio DXi Series speakers feature
a
high efficiency design so less amplifier power is needed for more audio output. Meaning better sound and
more volume using less power.
Dynamic Balance Driver Technology: Dynamic Balance is a
proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what
combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance.
Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low
distortion.
Klipple Optimized Components: For a driver to reproduce complex sounds
accurately, the cone must move in exactly the same distance and manner in both
directions of travel. The Klippel distortion analyzer, a device that uses a
laser and sophisticated software to do large-scale analysis of drivers in
motion, lets Polk optimize the speaker's motor structure, voice coil alignment,
and suspension to yield the best possible performance.
Composite Cones: Each Polk DXi350 speaker features a Dynamic
Balance, polymer/mica composite cone woofer. These composite cones feature
tremendous stiffness-to mass ratio. Lower mass means faster transients and finer
detail.
Butyl Rubber Surrounds: For a
smoother response and improved durability, the speaker uses butyl rubber
surrounds.
Silk Soft-Dome Tweeters: Each Polk DXi350 speaker features
a 1/2" silk soft-dome tweeter for
clearer, more accurate highs. Each tweeter employs a light-weight neodymium
magnet for higher efficiency.
2-way Crossover Network: The
built-in 2-way crossover network sends the appropriate frequencies to each
driver for cleaner sound and better imaging.
Bass Blockers: The DXi350 speakers include two 200
micro-farad capacitors which act as 200 Hz high-pass filters to block bass
frequencies from the speakers. These should be installed in-line on the positive
(+) speaker lead of each speaker.
Mounting: The Polk Audio DXi350 speakers fit in a standard 3-1/2
opening with two mounting holes. No grilles are supplied.
