Features

MP3 Playback: This unit can play MP3 files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2 and Joliet formats. This unit is compatible with constant and variable bit rates from 32kbps to 320kbps. Each disc should have a maximum of 250 files and 250 albums (folders). During MP3 playback, the following functions are available:

• Album (Folder) up/down
• File up/down
• File audible search
• File scan: the first 10 seconds of each file on a disc are played
• Folder scan: the first 10 seconds of the first file in each folder are played
• File repeat
• Folder repeat
• File Mix Play: all the files in the current folder are played in random order
• Folder Mix Play: all the files on the disc are played in random order
• ID3 Tag Display: displays ID3 Tag information for files that have been recorded with ID3 tag information

WMA Playback: This unit can play WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2 and Joliet formats. This unit is compatible with constant and variable bit rates from 64kbps to 160kbps with a sampling rate of 44.1k. Each disc should have a maximum of 250 files and 250 albums (folders). During WMA playback, the following functions are available:

• Album (Folder) up/down
• File up/down
• File audible search
• File scan: the first 10 seconds of each file on a disc are played
• Folder scan: the first 10 seconds of the first file in each folder are played
• File repeat
• Folder repeat
• File Mix Play: all the files in the current folder are played in random order
• Folder Mix Play: all the files on the disc are played in random order

Note: ID3 Tags are not supported for WMA files.

Display/Button Illumination: This unit has a negative blue display with white indicators. The buttons are backlit with red illumination.

Level Meter Displays: There is a channel level meter along the left portion of the display. You may select from four meter patterns, or you may turn the meter display off.

Source Tone Memory: Each source (AM/FM/CD) can store its own bass and treble levels.

Selectable Maximum Turn-on Volume: You may set the maximum volume level that will be active when the unit is turned on. Once you've set the maximum turn on volume into memory, you won't have to worry about being overpowered by an unexpected, high-volume blast of output when you turn the unit on.  

X-Bass Bass Boost: The X-Bass feature boosts bass response, centered at 72Hz, for more dynamic sound. You may select from four levels of boost, or you may turn the X-Bass feature off.

Tuner: This unit is equipped with Blaupunkt's ORC V Tuner.

Scan and Preset Scan Tuning: The scan feature allows you to listen to each station in a band (AM or FM) for 8 seconds, until you stop the scan function by selecting the station you want to hear.  The preset scan feature allows you to listen to each preset station in a band (AM or FM) for 8 seconds, until you stop the scan function by selecting the preset station you want to hear.

Station Naming: You can enter names of up to 12 characters each for up to 30 radio stations.

Station Call: Once you've entered names for radio stations, you may search for and select stations by name.

Ignition-off Clock Recall: When the ignition is off, the clock can be displayed for 5 seconds by pressing the display button.

Turn On/Off Messages: When you turn on the unit, "Blaupunkt MP3 - I Want My MP3!" scrolls across the display. When you turn off the unit, "Bye-Bye" scrolls across the display. You may edit the four on/off messages, so messages of your choice are displayed. Each customized message can be up to 12 characters in length.

Auxiliary Input: Stereo RCA jacks on the back of the unit are provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source. Just connect your portable cassette, MD or MP3 player to this unit, and you can listen to the audio from the portable player through the speakers in your mobile audio system.

Optional Wireless Remote: This unit is compatible with the optional RC823 wireless remote.

Illumination/Clock Display Note

Display Illumination/Clock Display: The clock display and display illumination may be set to turn on with the ignition, or you may configure the unit so the clock and display illumination are active only when the unit is on. When your vehicle has no accessory position on the ignition switch and both power wires of the radio are connected to constant power, the unit should be set so the clock and illumination only display when the unit is on.
