Onboard Navigation
Built-in GPS Navigation System: The
built-in GoGoNav navigation system from EnGIS Technologies supports map data for
the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada. A rich feature set delivers
multilingual voice guidance powered by Loquendo's compact yet high-performing
embedded Text-To-Speech (TTS), a 3 Million Points of Interest (POI) database,
Signpost and Lane Guidance, automatic rerouting plus many more features.
Map Data (via MicroSD): The unit comes supplied with a TeleAtlas
(2010) 2GB MicroSD-card which must remain
installed for navigation operation (comes pre-installed). The TeleAtlas MicroSD-card contains maps of the
United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada, along with approximately 3 million points of interest.
Note: Please visit
www.gogonav.com for map updates.
GPS Antenna: The DDN-868W comes supplied with an external GPS antenna
which features a magnetic base and 10' antenna cord terminated by an SMB
connector which plugs into the back of the unit and mounts to the outside of
your vehicle.
Map Display: As you travel, the DDN-868W's on-screen map
guides you to your destination with a highlighted route, directional arrows, and
turn directions at the top of the map (with estimated distance to next
maneuver). The bottom of the map indicates your current speed, the current time,
the remaining travel time, remaining travel distance, and your expected time of
arrival. If you depart from the original route, the navigation system
recalculates the route and provides new directions. You can adjust the map color
(Daytime/Nighttime) and orientation (2D/3D).
- 2D/3D Map: You can changes the perspective of the map
from 2D North-Up (displays the map in 2 dimensions with North at the top),

Voice Guidance (Text-To-Speech): In addition to
on-screen visual guidance, the DDN-868W utilizes turn-by-turn instructions with
Text-to-Speech voice guidance (powered by Loquendo) so you don't
have to take your eyes off the road. The unit offers 3 voice languages (English,
French, Spanish). You can also adjust the volume level of the voice guidance
system.
Lane Guidance: Lane Guidance helps you safely prepare for your next
maneuver by displaying the correct lane(s) to stay in.
Signposts: Signposts provide a realistic representation of actual
signposts at complex highway junctions. As you approach a highway junction, the
signpost displays route shields, route directions, locality, exit, and lane
information.
Turn-By-Turn Screen: The Turn-by-Turn Screen offers a more simplified
guidance mode. The Turn-by-Turn mode presents an enlarged maneuver image and
text to indicate the next turn. The distance remaining to the next maneuver is
