I was very excited to put these in my '03 Xterra, let me just say that right off the bat. I also added the RF 6x9's for the back. However after the install and replacing the receiver as well, I was certainly let down, especially after reading a lot of the reviews on Crutchfield. My set up is powered by a new Sony head unit with 40 RMS / 52 PK power. They DO crank from high mids, to high highs, but zero low mids to bass. If you even try to adjust an EQ, they almost want to pop a bit when turned up. I also went as far as to triple check my wire connections, all wired correctly. Looks like it is time to add a subwoofer, and I'm not that much of a bass head either, but I need to feel the music a bit. Look elsewhere if you need PUNCH without the subwoofer.

Good mids to highs

Cons:

Zero bass for the money spent, look elsewhere.

An excellent replacement for factory speakers. A lot of reviews complained of poor bass I actually turned mine down cause I am not a fan of bass thumping. The sound is clear and the listening experience is enjoyable

I put these in the back of my car and now I'm going to have to switch em out, there really is no bass and it does sound like crap when you turn it up I was highly dissapointed for the price I paid for themp

Zero Bass/Low End

They sound good with some old rock and roll music, but anything newer with a bit of hard bass or bass drum is a disaster. I put these in all 4 doors but am now going to have to get different ones for the front doors, they sound that bad.

I installed these in my 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. I am not very mechanically inclined so was leary of taking on this project alone. I watched a youtube video on how to remove my door panels and was on my own from there. In a little over an hour I had new speakers in all four doors. Everything I needed was included with the price! Why would anyone buy from anywhere else? Nice job guys!

Pros:

These sound 10 times better than the stock speakers ever did. I should have done this years ago!

Cons:

As other reviews say, there is not alot of bass. If you want to listen to annoying rap, these are not for you. I am not a huge bass fan anyway, so these are fine by me!

Rockford Fosgate Prime 6 1/2, 2 ways

These things are excellent!! Really - far beyond what I expected for the moey. I put them in my 2008 Subaru WRX Hatchback. I have the "Premium" Subaru sound system, but it was not cutting it, so I started doing some inexpensive mods. I picked these speakers because of the great reviews and now I am one of the 5-star voters! I didn't realize that my OEM system already had 2-ways in the door, so when I pulled off the door panel and saw them, I was wondering what difference the Rockford Fosgate versions could make since they were almost the same speaker. AMAZING - the cripsness of the tweeters is so great, and they even added some good bass response for just a little 6 1/2. I have stock Subary component sail tweeters in door already, but these Rockford Fostgate speakers added to high's and detail of the sound and seem to work well with the sail tweeters. The overall improvement to the sound quality was way more than I anticipated! And I only installed them in the front doors! (I might have to do the rears now!) And of course, the Crutchfield installtion instructions were fantastic and the included adapter worked perfectly. I took my son and I just an hour to put in both speakers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE SPEAKERS if you want ramp up the quality of your OEM system for little $$.

Pros:

AWESOME!! Great sound, crisp highs, added to the bass response, very good upgrade from my factory system.

Great sound for a great price No distortion unless playing at MAX valume Incredibly easy to install

Cons:

Grill didnt fit my car For the first couple days it made a weird buzzing noise but thats gone now

Great speakers - May need to upgrade head unit

I used this to upgrade my 2012 Toyota Tacoma stock speakers, which were unimaginable cheap, with a magnet the size of a quarter, versus this speaker's hockey puck size magnet. Using the stock Tacoma head unit, the sound went from bad to OK. Once I changed the head unit to an Alpine CDE-HD137BT, with HD Radio, Bluetooth, and USB/MP3 capability, the sound went to OK to great. I guess Toyota puts horrible sound equipment in base versions in their cars just to get people to upgrade to the expensive JBL sound system.

Like others have said, these speakers sound good but not great. They do not have as much low frequency response as the factory Infinity speakers I replaced in my son's Durango. That was a little disappointing. However, the speakers are clear and crisp as they should be. I guess we need to look for a sub-woofer now,

Not enough low end for me or my son.

They are very good speakers for the price paid. I will say I expect a bit more boom to them, than what I got, but they are only 6.5 inch speakers running off of a factory radio.

Pros:

Price would be the biggest factor.

Cons:

The install screws that came with the speakers were about 3 inches long, and totally useless for anyone who was not drilling these into a 57 Chevy pickup door. (Large flat door).

I read a lot of the reviews here before I purchased these. If you want to upgrade the paper speakers in 10 or 11 year old truck, these will do! Although I couldnt tell that much of a difference until I turned it up, way up. The highs are clear, and mids are decent. I guess it will depend on what you listen to. I also replaced the deck at the same time so I guess my expectations where set a little higher because of these reviews. OR, some of the reviewies had a nastiers sounding stereo than I did. If I had to do it all over again, well, I'd probably still do it because they are cost effective!

Pros:

inexpensive, has warranty

I had higher expectation for RF.

Highs and no Lows

Solid speakers with clear highs. They have no low end whatsoever. The sound that comes out of them is okay, but not worth writing home about. I am not an audiophile and while these are a significant improvement over stock speakers for sound quality, they lack bass. Maybe I am just stating something that I should have known, like they aren't supposed to have bass, but it was a bit disappointing (Less bass than factory speakers). I am adding a self powered amp to the system so I am not too concerned. Not bad for the money, but if I hadn't installed them and had to take a road trip later that day I would have probably removed them and sent them back.

Pros:

Solidly built Clear Highs Easy Fit Price

Cons:

They get distorted easily.

I installed these in the front and rear doors of my 2011 Cheverolet Silverado Crew Cab. The installation was a breeze with the free brackets and wiring harnesses. With regards to the sound quality, to be honest, I was really expecting more. They are louder and clearer than the stock speakers but lack all the bass. They lack so much bass that I just purchased a powered 6.5 Bazooka Tube to compensate.

Pros:

Easy Install Clear sound

Cons:

Little to no bass (in my vehicle anyway)
