Features
Overview: The ESS-9.IR mobile video system contains two
replacement vehicle headrests with 9" LED backlit LCD video monitors
built-in. The monitors have independent inputs, so they can be used to display
different sources (no video source is included with the system). Because the
monitors' inputs are not linked together, and most A/V head units have only
one set of rear monitor outputs, Y-adapters may be necessary to connect both
screens. NTSC and PAL signals are compatible.
Headrests: The system includes two padded vehicle headrests,
available in black, grey, and tan. The headrests include through-the-post wiring
to make it easy to install the wire in your car seats. The headrest posts are
approximately 6.25" in length, with adjustable spacing to accommodate
your vehicle's headrest post opening (between approximately 4.0625" and
7.625"). Once installed, the headrests can be tilted about 15° for the
best viewing angle.
Monitors: Each monitor has two inputs; AV1 has composite
video and stereo audio RCA jacks wired through one of the mounting posts, AV2
is a 3.5mm mini-jack on the front panel, below the screen. Two 3.5mm mini-plug
to female RCA audio/video adapters are supplied. Front panel controls found on
both monitors include power, AV (source), +/- buttons to adjust menu items, menu,
mode (4:3 or 16:9), and system (standard display, reverse, upside down, and upside
down/reversed).
Menu: The menu has these options:
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Color
- Tint
- Volume (default)
- Mode (4:3 or 16:9)
- Source
- IR (infrared output, A or B)
- Language (English, Chinese, Russian, Italian, French,
German)
- System (standard display, reverse, upside down, and
upside down/reversed)
Source: Each monitor has two inputs and the input for each
is selected independently. The input can be changed using the AV button, the
menu, or the included remote control. A video source must be added to the system
(none is included); DVD player, game console, camcorder, etc.
Headphones: Although no headphones are included with the
ESS-9.IR system, either wired or wireless headphones can be added. Each monitor
has a 3.5mm headphone jack below the screen, and each has a dual channel
wireless IR transmitter built-in.
