    Features

Overview: The PinPoint AM40 side clamping bookshelf speaker wall mount has been designed for traditional wood cabinet bookshelf style speakers that were not provided with a standard mounting point by the manufacturer. Using a solid platform with side clamps, the AM40 offers a 90 degree swivel, 7 degree tilt and can support a speaker 5.5" to 11" wide, up to 13" deep and a maximum of 50 lbs. Side clamps have specialized non-marking, non-slip isolation pads to provide a safe and secure contact point for the speaker. The AM40 comes with a decorative cover for the wall plate to conceal mounting screws for a clean installation. All mounting hardware is included and sold as a pair for mounting 2 speakers.

Note: The AM40 is available only in black.

Clamp-style Speaker Mounting: Speakers are held in place using two adjustable side clamps. When installed on the side clamps, the included Ultragrip pads allow the side clamps to grip the sides of a speaker securely, with relatively little pressure. For additional security, the supplied 1/2" screws may be used to attach the brackets to the speaker sides or bottom.

Speaker Compatibility: Each bracket will hold speakers from 5.5" to 11" wide and up to 13" deep. The bracket will hold speakers up to 50 lbs.

Tilt and Swivel Adjustability: The bracket platforms may be turned to the left or right (180 degrees), and may be tilted from -7 degrees below to 7 degrees above horizontal.

Materials: The bracket parts and wall plate are made of metal finished in a smooth satin black. The ball joint end cap is plastic.

Wall Mounting: The included wall-mount plates must be secured to a stud or other solid surface capable of supporting the total of the mount and speaker.

Note: Attaching the wall-plate to drywall using drywall anchors will decrease the maximum weight handling and is done at the customers own risk.

    Good Mount

These speaker mounts work great for wall mounting bigger speakers. They include the hardware you need and the speaker mount plates have a good range of movement for flexible positioning. However there are no holes or channels for the wires to be routed through.

    Very well made mounts

Written By Paul, Woodbridge, Va. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As soon as I got these mounts out of the box I knew they were going to work just great for my Polk Audio TSi100's. They have 4 mounting holes for wall mounting and a nice black plastic cover that hides the mounting screws. The clamp that actually holds the speaker also has small predrilled holes so you can put a small screw through it into the speaker if you wish. I chose not to do this as the included rubber "gripper strips" that also came with the mounts will hold the speakers just fine. The brackets are a little pricey, but when you consider the quality, and the piece of mind knowing they're not gonna let your expensive new speakers hit the ground, they're well worth it.
    Pros:
Very stout brackets, good design, quality workmanship.
    Cons:
nothing I could find. Even the price was ok considering you really get what you pay for. You could probably find a cheaper mount, but it would look it too.

    Works great

Written By Seattlejo, Seattle, WA on Tuesday, October 09, 2012

Works great. Very sturdy and clean looking. I don't have to angle my cambrdige s30 speakers very much, so I'm not using any of the extra screws. The design helps ensure a good solid fit without worrying about the speaker dropping. Should have bought these for my S20 surroungs as well, but I made a mistake a bought the cheaper sanus stand
    Pros:
Very Sturdy/Solid, well thought out configurable design.
    Cons:
May be a bit bulky compared to other minimilistic designs. Main tightening nut was a little tough to get on the bolt (bad machining??)

Heavy duty and mounted up quirky. Assembly was a snap and pretty intuitive. It could use a way to channel the wire from the wall to the speaker, but that is really the only suggestion. Great product.
    Pros:
    Heavy duty. Ease of assembly.
    Cons:
No channel, holes, or other routing for speaker wire.

    Versatile and Sturdy

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worked well for older speakers for which I no longer had the specific wall mounts. Lack of good instructions made final install slow, until we found that brute force and ignorance were needed to make the mounts stable. But well-made and attractive once on the wall.

Poor welding quality and optimistic specifications

Written By The Listener, S. E. Pa. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Manufacturer should revisit their quality control department as one of my brackets had two pea-sized welds that hadn't penetrated the metal at all. You could slide a piece of paper between the parts! It's also a stretch to claim that these can support a 50lb. speaker up to 11" wide. My Yamaha HS80M monitors at 25lbs, fall within the advertised specifications, but when mounted, were precariously unbalanced front to back. With some delicate TIG welding, I added a square-tube front support arm to better support the monitor, and repaired the faulty factory welds. In my opinion these are only suitable for smaller speakers and monitors such as the HS50M.

Here is a tip to insure a stable mount

Written By Jeff Ronan, Selma, OR on Saturday, April 02, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am using two pairs of these to mount my Vienna Acoustic Haydn Grands
which weigh about 25 lbs. each as part of a 7.1 setup. Find a stud and you get
a very stable mount and a good base for the speakers to be tightly anchored.
There is one issue I found. They supply sticky foam pads for the side clamps to
protect the speaker. I found that if I cut off about 1/4" of the pad and stuck on the
back where the speaker will contact the mounting base it gives takes out a little
play that you might get if you don't. My speakers are a bueatiful piano balck
finish so no way am I drilling holes in them. Fortunately The Haydns come with
an embedded 8mm threaded in their bases for mounting to a floor standing
speaker stand. I was able to use machine screws with fender washer to
secure the speakers through the base of the stand. This will prevent any
possiblity of the speaker tipping oput of the standard mount. My placement
constraints have them a buit higher than optimal so they are pointed donw to
the maximum possible. The undermount screws really work well. Very nice
    mounts for the price.

    Good product

Written By Steve H., Rock Island, Illinois on Thursday, March 03, 2011
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well made, sturdy and good looking wall mount. Easy to install. There are four screw for each mount to drive into the studs. The instructions say that you can install into dry wall, but it isn't recommended. I suspect the closer you get to the maximum weight for the mounts (50 lbs), the more likely they may pull out of the dry wall. I can't seen any issue if you drive them into studs. Bought these for my Infinity 162 (20 lbs) and it handles them quite well. Bought these, a pair of INfinity 162, pair of Infinity 362, Infinity 210, and a Sony 810 from Crutchfield and the Crutchfiled were great to deal with. Product almost always shipped immediately and arrived within a few business days. I originally bought the Sony 810 locally, however, their service (at this particular store) is so bad and their employees so unknowledgeable that they couldn't answer basic questions, such as how to drive all four speakers from my iPad. They also never had their speaker display working and I went there on four seperate occassions. Crutchfield, on the other hand, was very knowledgable about the products and were able to address all questions immediately and correctly.
