Features
Overview: The Fujinon XF14 F2.8 R is an ultra wide angle lens. It has a Fujifilm X-mount, and is designed
exclusively for Fujifilm X-mount digital cameras, such as the X-E1 and X-Pro1. Its 14mm focal
length is equivalent to 21mm in 35mm photography. The XF14 F2.8 R lens can be used for a
wide variety of landscape and architectural photos, as well as in confined
spaces.
Firmware Update Required: The X-E1 and X-Pro 1 cameras must go
through a firmware update before the lens can be used. The updated firmware for
both cameras is included with the lens on an SD memory card. The process takes
only about 90 seconds, and the camera's battery should be fully charged before
you begin.
Optics: The XF14 F2.8 R has 10 elements in 7 groups,
including 2 aspherical and 3 extra low dispersion elements. The lens has a 58mm
filter thread for adding screw-on filters.
Lens Hood: The lens comes with a bayonet-type lens hood to reduce glare and to protect the front element. When attached, the
lens hood adds almost 1-7/16" to the overall length of the lens.
Focus Mode: The XF14 F2.8 R has a focus ring that slides
forward or backward to set the focus mode. When the focus ring is in the forward
position, it is in Autofocus mode and cannot be rotated. Sliding the focus ring
backward places the lens in Manual focus mode, allowing you to rotate the ring
to focus on your subject.
Depth-of-Field Indicator: The lens has a Depth-of-Field
Indicator on the barrel. The scale runs from 0.7' to infinity, indicating the
approximate distance in front of and behind the focus point that appears to be
in focus. The scale has marks at 0.7', 1', 2', 5', and infinity. as well as
0.18m, 0.25m, 0.5m, and 3m.
