I've purchased a number of Polk products. Quality is good. Sound is accurate for mid-priced speakers and subwoofers. I bought the db651s for my 2008 Dodge Dakota. Stock speakers appeared to be cheap Chinese made junk (c'mon Chrysler, are you ALREADY falling back on past mistakes made prior to the government bailout?). I replaced a total of four speakers in my truck and powered them with an RER MyGig factory unit. The db651s are simply too bright. Little to no bass with a factory unit. If one has an aftermarket unit allowing adjustment of crossover freqs, then they may provide SOME punch but even with bass maxed out on my factory unit, they disappoint in the bass department. Mid to high freq notes sound fine. Nice and clear. In the end, I had to buy a powered sub and line converter to get the sound I wanted in this small truck. Pros: Came with adapters to make installation easy. High freq sound reproduction is fine. Cruthfield service is excellent. They recommended stock speaker wire adapters to further facilitate/ ease installation. Unless you want to solder, but the wire adapters. Cons: Little to no bass when paired with factory head units. I had to replace the "Infinity" Speakers in the rear doors of my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab because one of them went belly up and started making scratchy noises on base notes. The replacement from Chrysler cost about $175 (for one speaker!!) so I decided good old Crutchfield was the sensible way to go. I got both of the db651s's (to have a matched set of course) for $100 complete with wire connectors, speaker mount adaptors and very good instructions. Nothing could have been easier and like I said before, they performed as good or better than the old speakers. Pros: Excellent quality, both for the money and compared to the much more expensive Chrysler "Infinity" speakers. Let me tell you, these speakers are AWESOME! Produces good Lows and Crisp Highs. The Mids are clear as well although lost a little in comparison to the Lows. They are fairly punchy but if you want Bass that will kick you in the chest, install a sub. That is my next step. I also put the 4x6 Polk plate speakers of the same series in the back for even sound They really brought added depth and clarity to the system. When the system is properly tuned, the result is impressive given suck small speakers. Pros: Easy install. They look great. Very good frequency range. Better than expected performance at higher volumes. Cons: The mounting kit supplied from Crutchfied (for free I might add) allows for some looseness when the speakers are installed in the door. This creates a rattle at certain bass frequencies. I suggest adding a couple of extra screws to secure the mounting plates, or using some foam as a cushion under the mounting plates. Quality is good. Sound is accurate for mid-priced speakers and subwoofers. I bought the db651s for my 2008 Dodge Dakota. Stock speakers appeared to be cheap Chinese made junk (c'mon Chrysler, are you ALREADY falling back on past mistakes made prior to the government bailout?). I replaced a total of four speakers in my truck and powered them with an RER MyGig factory unit. The db651s are simply too bright. Little to no bass with a factory unit. If one has an aftermarket unit allowing adjustment of crossover freqs, then they may provide SOME punch but even with bass maxed out on my factory unit, they disappoint in the bass department. Mid to high freq notes sound fine. Nice and clear. In the end, I had to buy a powered sub and line converter to get the sound I wanted in this small truck. Pros: Came with adapters to make installation easy. High freq sound reproduction is fine. Cruthfield service is excellent. They recommended stock speaker wire adapters to further facilitate/ ease installation. Unless you want to solder, but the wire adapters. Cons: Little to no bass when paired with factory head units. A great improvement over the factory speakers which looked very basic once I saw them out of the car doors. Plus, living in a rather wet area of the USA, having speakers that are for wet environments is a big plus. Polk speakers are hard to beat. Crutchfield made it so easy to find the speakers I needed and provided me with detailed instructions on how to install them. My Honda S2000 is over 13 years old and the right side speaker went bad. The pair of Crutchfield speakers were much less expensive than one replacement speaker from Honda and came with instructions. It has been years since I bought a product from Crutchfield but it won't be years before I go back! (P.S. The speakers also sound great!) The speakers perform exactly as expected. I had to replace the "Infinity" Speakers in the rear doors of my 2000 Dakota Quad Cab because one of them went belly up and started making scratchy noises on base notes. The replacement from Chrysler cost about $175 (for one speaker!!) so I decided good old Crutchfield was the sensible way to go. I got both of the db651s's (to have a matched set of course) for $100 complete with wire connectors, speaker mount adaptors and very good instructions. Nothing could have been easier and like I said before, they performed as good or better than the old speakers. Pros: Excellent quality, both for the money and compared to the much more expensive Chrysler "Infinity" speakers. These are a great replacement speaker to upgrade from factory speakers. They have nice highs and well defined mids, although they are lacking in the bass (that is what the sub is for). Installation was almost perfect with the supplied wiring harness connector and adapter installation ring. The only issue when installing is that depending on the spacing of the existing holes in your vehicle, you might have to file/drill/cut the slot in the adapter ring to get the holes to line up. I installed them myself with the Crutchfield included factory wire harness adapter and speaker mounting brackets. They are powered by a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X395. Let me tell you, these speakers are AWESOME! Produces good Lows and Crisp Highs. The Mids are clear as well although lost a little in comparison to the Lows. They are fairly punchy but if you want Bass that will kick you in the chest, install a sub. That is my next step. I also put the 4x6 Polk plate speakers of the same series in the back for even sound They really brought added depth and clarity to the system. When the system is properly tuned, the result is impressive given suck small speakers. Pros: Easy install. They look great. Very good frequency range. Better than expected performance at higher volumes. Cons: The mounting kit supplied from Crutchfied (for free I might add) allows for some looseness when the speakers are installed in the door. This creates a rattle at certain bass frequencies. I suggest adding a couple of extra screws to secure the mounting plates, or using some foam as a cushion under the mounting plates. I have had these speakers for about 1 week now and they are doing Good. Very good Highs and Mids and the Bass is ok. Jeep factories had around the same amount of Bass but these PS's handle a little more volume with less distortion because there is some. I have them running off a JVC KD-X250BT Digital Media Reciever which i really like and even on the "normal" setting i get some distortion. but they are definetly a good speaker with nice crisp sound. 4 stars cause i have tried multiple setting to get great sound but have not found it yet. Shipment came on time, Good Quality, easy install even having to drill holes and Crutch sent me everything i needed. Thanks and i WOULD Definetly recommend these.
