The Bose SoundDock® Portable digital music system lets you enjoy music from your iPod or iPhone just about anywhere. This compact speaker system gives you full, natural sound in an easy-to-carry design. Just swivel out the built-in dock, put in your iPod, and you're ready to listen. A tuned port on the back helps reinforce the bass frequencies and doubles as a convenient handle.

You can control both your iPod and the SoundDock® Portable system with the provided credit card-sized remote. Change, skip or pause songs and adjust the volume.     Features

    Overview: The Bose Portable SoundDock is a powered, portable speaker system designed specifically for Apple iPod digital music players. The iPod is docked directly to the unit, allowing you to easily play your music files. The unit's rotating iPod dock folds neatly in place for protection during transit. The Portable SoundDock also features a built-in carry handle to allow for quick and easy transport of this unit.

    Proprietary Acoustic Design: The system's patented Waveguide Speaker Technology and powerful neodymium speakers provide efficient and high quality audio reproduction.

    iPod Compatibility: The Portable SoundDock features a hide-away, rotating iPod dock in the front of the unit for connecting your iPod. The unit works with any iPod with a Click Wheel; these include the nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th generations), mini (1st/2nd generation), photo (4th generation), video (5th generation), and classic (80/120/160GB) models. This unit also supports the iPod touch (1st/2nd generation).

    Controls: The Bose Portable SoundDock does not contain any controls on the unit itself. The unit is operated from the supplied IR wireless remote control. In addition to controlling the Sound Dock's volume, the supplied remote control turns your iPod on or off and controls basic iPod functions, such as Play, Pause, Track Seek and Playlist Select. Your iPod will remain fully functional when connected to this unit so you can still use the iPod's click-wheel to control advanced functions of your iPod.

    Auxiliary Input: The Portable SoundDock features a rear-panel 3.5mm auxiliary input which lets you play other audio sources, such as a portable CD player or other MP3 players through the unit.

    Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery: The Portable SoundDock operates off of the supplied rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. The battery is partially charged out of the box but a full charge is recommended before initial use. It may take up to 10 hours to recharge the battery completely. The Lithium-ion battery provides up to 3 hours of use with the Portable SoundDock set to full volume. You can extend this time significantly by choosing a lower volume. The battery is charged by the supplied AC adaptor. The SoundDock will turn itself off when your iPod is inactive or silent for 10 minutes to prolong battery life.

    Power Supply: The unit can also be powered by the supplied AC adapter. The AC adapter also charges the supplied Lithium-ion battery.

    iPod Charger: The SoundDock provides power to charge your iPod from either AC or battery power during operation. The unit supports charging of the following iPods: nano (1st/2nd/3rd/4th generations), mini (1st/2nd generation), photo (4th generation), video (5th generation), classic (80/120/160GB), and iPod touch (1st/2nd generation) models. iPod charging is suspended when the unit is turned off.

    Note: If your iPod has four buttons above the "click wheel" the Portable SoundDock will not charge the iPod.

    Headphones: The headphone output on your iPod is independent of the Dock connector so both the SoundDock and headphones can be used simultaneously, with independent volume control.

    Non-Slip Feet: The bottom of the SoundDock features four surface-gripping rubber pads to provide a stable platform on most surfaces.

    This product fill all my needs and expectations. It's small, portable and rechargable with a great sound quality that caracterized Bose. Take some time to decide the purchase of this product but thinking of sound quality and the portability. The main purpose to buy this product was to use it in my pool area and works great in that area, really booms the area. The rechargeable battery that lasted over 4 hours it's a feature that not many sounds systems provide and for the area it is a great feature.
    Pros:
    Portability and sound.
    Cons:
    For the price at least can include the cable to connect other products that do not fit in the ipod dock.

    This sound dock is sounds awesome the battery life is decent I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a iPod dock the only thing that would make this dock perfect is if it was Bluetooth but I bought a Bluetooth chip that plugs it that make it Bluetooth that works great for short range 20 feet

    The portable sound dock is fantastic. Have owned many Bose products and have never had a disappointment. A bit pricey compared to some other portable units but well worth the cost. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quality portable sound system.

    I bought this because I was looking for a quality sounding dock that was portable. It has exceeded expectations. It sounds like a full blown stereo system. The volume can be cranked up and there is no distortion. It's light and small. If you're looking for quality and portability you don't have to look very hard.

    I wanted something small and portable to use out by the pool or on picnics/camping, etc. with great sound to play my Ipod. Everyone marvels at the sound poduced by this small sized speaker system. So far battery life appears to be excellent (5+ hours). I got a case to go along with it so we could take it anywhere safely. I am very happy with the purchase.
    Pros:
    Excellent sound quality from a small sized speaker system. Very portable, especially when you use the case to take it on outings. Battery lasts a long time before requring a recharge. If you can afford the high price, I would definitely recommend it.
    Cons:
    The biggest con in my opinion is the price. I had to think long and hard before making the purchase. Even though I love the sound it produces for it's size, I still feel it is overpriced and think Bose should bring it down at least under $299 (I paid $359 + case).

    My mom gave me this as a Christmas present & I haven't looked back since. The Bose name says it all. The first time I listened to it at work all my co- workers were simply amazed at the sound quality. The portability of it also makes this even more of a must have for people who are always on the go. The carring case makes this a party-on-the-go piece of equipment If you own a ipod this is absolutely a must have and not optional equipment!! You may think you're spending a lot but once you hear the sound quality you'll know you made the right choice in your purchase!

    We have Bose all over the house, and we've gifted Bose to Family. I needed
    this portable Bose for a party in February. The battery life served us well for the
    entire event. Many commented on the amazing sound that came out of this
    sweet thing. We have many musically talented people in our Family, and they
    love it. I take it outside, and I use it in my kitchen when I need my music to help
    me cook.

    I have owned alot of Bose products over the years. Everytime I convince myself to spend the
    extra money to buy Bose products, and everytime I am very pleased with the product. The
    Sounddock is a wonderful compact unit that has amazing sound. So if you can afford it, you
    will not be dissappointed. The extra hundred dollars is well worth the money to make it
    portable as well.

    I bought the Bose Sound Dock portable and I am blown away by the awesome sound
    coming from this small but attractive sound system. This was the best money I have spent in
    a long time and well worth it. The ability to take it anywhere is a definite plus. The sound is
    very rich with a bass that is a perfect fit. Try one for yourself.

    Amazing product! Works perfectly with my Iphone 4. Charges, and stops the music
    when a call comes through and restarts right after. Very small and portable with
    GREAT sound. This thing has a lot of power and you know when you buy Bose you
    are getting clear and perfect sound. Playing it on half way volume can pretty
    much throw a party on its own. Im scared to see how loud I can get it up to.

    Only negative it there is no external buttons to change the songs. You have to
    use the remote or touch the Ipod. Only buttons on the box are the volume buttons

    What a great product!! I did A LOT of research trying to find the perfect portable sound
    dock for my husband's birthday. This one got the best reviews and definitely has the
    best sound of all the ones I tested and listened to at the store. Bose always has great
    products, so I expected nothing less than the best. We just had a party at our house and
    used this sound dock - everyone was impressed! It looks nice and has amazing
    sound. It is a bit pricey, but it is worth every penny! As my husband says, it's awesome!!
