Crutchfield is fully committed to the Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) program, the only nationally recognized testing program for mobile electronics professionals.
For installers, the MECP program offers three levels of certification: Basic, Advanced, and Master. At each level, applicants must pass a written exam to demonstrate their understanding of and ability to install mobile audio/video, navigation, and security systems. For salespeople and other car audio professionals, MECP offers Mobile Product Specialist certification. Recertification is required every two to four years.
All Crutchfield Product Support Specialists have achieved or are progressing toward Advanced Installer status. As of March, 2006, Crutchfield Advisors are required to attain Mobile Product Specialist certification. Our participation in the MECP program will help us give you better advice about buying, installing, and using car products.
