An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box. Our take on the Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker by Dominic Devito Sound Ordnance's rugged Bass Bunker enclosures come built to last and ready to help your sub deliver real low-frequency firepower. These unloaded boxes feature high-grade, medium-density fiberboard construction, with sealed inner braces that help combat resonance by reducing vibrations. Rounded outside corners and recessed panels allow them to fit into more vehicles, while tough black carpeting defends against incoming nicks and scratches. Bass Bunkers make a great solution when building your own box is not an option. The BB12-200V ported enclosure holds one 12" subwoofer and offers an internal volume of 1.83 cubic feet. Its large vents feature rounded inner corners that keep port noise to a minimum for more accurate response. Just add the right sub, amp, and wiring, then mount the enclosure securely, and you're ready to hit the road with some real bass artillery in your arsenal. Warning: This enclosure does not include mounting hardware. If you're buying a sub from us, please check "What's in the Box?" to see if screws are included. If not, you should have an assortment of heavy-duty wood screws on hand for the installation. Written By H865, Powell, TN on Thursday, May 30, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I love this box. It took 2 days for it to get here. I got the package and immediately put my Alpine Type R in it and it bumps on 300 watts. Now I just have to go an amp and another amp kit and ill be set. Ill be recommending this box and Crutchfield to all of my friends Pros: Well Constructed. Fast Shipping. Really bumps. I love it. Cons: Small gauge wiring to connect your sub too. Yes | No 5 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By Anonymous, Caledonia, Minnesota on Friday, March 22, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I ordered this box or my new type r, the box is tuned to 34 hz so it was within the subs preferable enclosure, but the volume was a little on the big side!! But what they usually say the bigger the better! His box hits every note and it sounds amazing in my car! Never knew one 12 could be so loud and clear!! Great product! Pros: - looks nice - loud and clear bass - hits high and low frequencies Cons: NONE Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 A solid ported enclosure Written By Mike, Atlanta on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I purchased this box to replace an old sealed enclosure. I had recently upgraded my subwoofer and the old sealed box was just way too small, it was choking the sub. The enclosure seems well built, and has plenty of additional interior bracing. It is very sturdy, and weighs close to thirty pounds. For a pre-fabricated box, it's one of the best. The difference between my old sealed box and this ported box is night and day. I feel as if I had purchased a new more powerful amp, and better sub, but in reality, I just purchased a box that was within the recommended specs for my sub. Pros: Sturdy construction. Spring post terminal. Tuned to 34hz. A good amount of internal volume, 1.83 cubic feet. Cons: Speaker wire is thin, high gauge. SoundOrdnance logo on enclosure is tacky, but I guess that is more personal taste. 5/8" wood thickness. Should be 3/4", but for the price, 5/8" is fine. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I'm very impressed with this box... it produces an excellent sound and without the outrageous prices of competitor's boxes. I installed a 12" type x in it with in 10 min of recieving the box... a little tweaking the eq and wow it sounds better than I ever expected! I'm used to running the old vt boxes and was expecting a weaker sound by going to a smaller box, but it's just what i needed. It fits nicely behind the center consol in my dodge ram quad cab and I have an open backseat for anyone brave enough to sit back there with it!!! I would deffinitally recomend this box to anyone with a love for bass. Pros: Sounds great, looks great and it's holding up great!!! Yes | No 5 out of 5 Perfect Written By Paul, ATL on Friday, March 16, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Lack of time and motivation had driven me to search for a pre-fabricated enclosure, and I expected I would have to accept many compromised and less than ideal features. I just needed to find something good enough to get my by until I could find the time to build my own. Then I happened upon this box. Wow! To think a company actually put in the effort to build a box with braced panels, attractive corner ports, generous internal air space, and, if that's not enough, they tuned it nice and low! In short, this is exactly what I would have built myself for little more than the cost of materials. Pros: 5/8" MDF with bracing saves weight without compromising rigidity. Sealed inside joins. Spring loaded binding posts. Not a cube shaped standing wave generator like so many pre-fab boxes out there. Clean, aesthetically pleasing look. Cons: I wish the input cup was installed on one of the side panels instead of the back. I would prefer to mount the amp on the back, but the cup was in the way. If the cup was recessed I would have mounted the amp over the cup, but it is flush mounted and I didn't feel like improvising stand offs, so I ended up with the amp on the side panel. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Written By Gregory B, Glen Burnie, MD on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 When I first opened the box, I saw this tightly-built box. I knew it was going to be good. Once I installed the Infinity 1262w 12" in, it looked like it was meant to be paired with the box. Once I hooked up the amp, though, I was mesmerized. My last setup used the same amperage, but the new sound quality was unparalleled. It sounded like I had much more than 250W RMS pumping out the trunk. I recommend the box to anyone wanting a quality box of this size. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Why do I need an enclosure? Inside the enclosure the terminal has an attached 24" length of speaker wire for connecting the subwoofer. Brackets: Brackets for securing the enclosure to your vehicle are recommended.

5 out of 5 Great Box! I have to replace sooner or later with the StreetWires 12 gauge. Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By Anonymous, Caledonia, Minnesota on Friday, March 22, 2013 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I ordered this box or my new type r, the box is tuned to 34 hz so it was within the subs preferable enclosure, but the volume was a little on the big side!! But what they usually say the bigger the better! His box hits every note and it sounds amazing in my car! Never knew one 12 could be so loud and clear!! Great product! Pros: - looks nice - loud and clear bass - hits high and low frequencies Cons: NONE Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 A solid ported enclosure Written By Mike, Atlanta on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I purchased this box to replace an old sealed enclosure. Yes | No

5 out of 5 Buy it now fool! Written By Anonymous, Indiana on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I used this box with my alpine type-r sub. This is a great box for that sub. Offering 1.8 cubic feet, this box is within the type-r specs. Often times people neglect the importance of a good box. Without a decent box the sub will never sound good. Most will say build your own but this is a great alternative. It is affordable and built very strong, looks great too! Don't hesitate, if you need a 12" box with 1.8 cubic feet give or take than this is your box! Pros: Quality Tuned lower than typical prefabbed boxes Good price Sounds great Cons: Heavy? not really a con 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No

5 out of 5 excellent purchase Written By shadow, MS on Monday, April 16, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) I'm very impressed with this box... it produces an excellent sound and without the outrageous prices of competitor's boxes. (I blew my old vt box apart with the same speaker) Cons: NON 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No

5 out of 5 Perfect Written By Paul, ATL on Friday, March 16, 2012 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Lack of time and motivation had driven me to search for a pre-fabricated enclosure, and I expected I would have to accept many compromised and less than ideal features. 5 out of 5 Stop your searching!! Written By Happy Customer, Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, December 08, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) O.k. first off this thing shipped to my doorstep less than 48 hours from when i ordered it. DANG! thats obviously a plus. the box it shipped in showed up a little brusied up, but who cares. i open the packageing tape and i was amazed. THIS BOX IS GORGEOUS. It fits perfectly in the back of my 2011 mazda3, and matches the black interior just as nicely. It just feels so stury and heavy, weel designed and has a fantastic finish on it. My alpine type R will sound the best the closest i can get the box size to 2.0 cube, and this is 1.83 close enough. 5 out of 5 Quality! Yes | No
4 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By Drew, Dacula, Ga on Monday, February 21, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Good box for the money. The shipping was very quick. The only thing I don't like about the box is that it's a hatchback with the back slanted. Would buy again. Crutchfield has fair prices on good products. Was this review helpful? Yes | No
5 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By ManDeezle, Salinas, Ca on Friday, February 18, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Great Box! Hands down! Needed something a little bigger than my previous 1.25 cu ft ported Q-logic box. The Sound Ordnance box is about the same size as the Q-logic but is more than half a cubic foot bigger internally! It's low tuning frequency really livened up my music... It really woke up my Alpine Type R 12! And I still have plenty of trunk space! Awesome price, free shipping, and the usual awesome service! 5 out of 5 Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Written By John, Wisconsin on Thursday, February 17, 2011 Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?) Good value for the price.
