    Not worth it for the cost

    I recently purchased 2 of these cables and out of curiosity purchased 2 other HDMI cables costs only one-third the price. I have read and also experimented with many such cables from Monster, and others, but I have ended up paying a lot more than I had to. But the quality of these cables is good and what I hate about them is the cost and marketing hype.

    So to continue the experiment, I placed my TV in PIP mode so I can watch 2 at the same time but there is only one audio. From video point of view there is hardly any difference whether you play DVDs, Blu Ray, home recorded camcorders, regular HD TV. From Audio perspective only if you have a home theater there is some slight difference which can be noticed by very few. So I decided to continue to keep these 2 cables and purchased additional ones at one-third the cost.

    Please educate yourself before we fall into the hands of high-pitch sales people....There are very technical and simple articles on the subject of HDMI cables - save money and there is no need to spend more....

    Yes, It DOES Matter

    I have been to other people's houses before with nice HDTV setups but with average wiring. Their HDTV picture looked really good but it seemed to
    be just missing that little extra to make it great. So when I finally decided to take the plunge into HDTV, there was no way I was going to skimp on anything, or let anything short-change my large investment. So I decided to use 1000HD's to hook up my DirecTV HD-DVR receiver and my Sony S350 blu-ray player to my Sony Bravia 37XBR6. Let me tell you, the picture pops like no other HD picture I've seen anywhere else. Even when people come over that have HDTV setups of their own and they look at mine they remark about how great it looks. I can't honestly say it's got 100% to do with the cables, but when you see other people's home setups with what you would consider similar performing equipment and one of the major differences is 1000HD wiring vs. brand X wiring, and when they see your picture they like it better than theirs, I think it hints at the possibility that these cables ARE a difference maker. Everyone is free to spend as much or as little as they want and draw their own conclusions, but I think at least in my case, seeing is believing, and I'm a believer.

    We recently purchased a Samsung 46" 1080 HDTV, model #650, that the cable company had hooked up with regular component cables to receive digital and hi-def channels. We thought the picture quality was good. However, after connecting the Monster cable, which was a breeze, we noticed how much crisper the picture & color looked. Would DEFINITELY recommend this product, especially if you have a high end TV.

    This is a great product, as always Monster Cables blow away the competition, for quality and performance.

    I just wish they could sell these cables for less, even though Crutchfield doe's a great job at reducing the cost. Is still is alot of money for a cable.

    For HD Worth it

    First off I would like to state that I am an engineer and deal considerably with embedded and digital systems. It is true that in digital you are only dealing with 1's and 0's, but also know that you are dealing with physics as applied to those signals as well.

    I upgraded from a 32" LCD television to an 60" Plasma and had to subsequently upgrade other items as well including cabling. I have invested considerable money in my home theater and there is one area where all that money can be in vain: the cables. I actually got three of these, one for the DirecTV, one for the BluRay and the other for the out to TV. There is a considerable difference as the digital image is, as specified in other reviews, sent to the television and other components extremely quickly.

    One thing to keep in mind here is that these cables are also sending audio signals as well as video signals, and some of the HDMI cables I was researching did not support 7.1 full surround and some did not even list support for 5.1 (i.e. cheaper store brand). The audio sent through this cable is lossless and pristine (192 kHz/24-bit; Dolby TrueHD & DTS-HD for BluRay), something which is a must if you have good drivers (which tend to magnify any problems within your system).

    Bottom line is if you are wanting HD on your home theater setup then use quality cabling. You do not necessarily need the Ultra 1000D series depending on size of tv, but you should do some research before coming to a decision.

    I went from Component Video to 1000HD. All I can say is wow! What a difference a cable makes. Most of my cables are Monster so I thought I knew what to expect. Well worth the money spent!

    Not all cable is equal

    I've used cheaper HDMI cable than Monster's and cannot honestly say that I see or hear a difference in audio or video quality. What I really like about Monster is that it is a much more flexible cable which make the component connections so much more stable. The stiffness of the lower-priced cables cause offset and strain at the connector points. The Monster plugs feel much more secure. For me, the flexibility and snug connections are well worth the additional cost.

    Monster cables are simply the best cables to hook up any electronics. I use Monster cables on my Home entertainment center and the sound and video are amazing. HDMI Cables are new to me so i didnt know one from another. My Direct TV Recievers came with HDMI Cables and the sound and picture quality wera good, But then i remembered what a great job Monster Cables did on other electronics. So i purchased the Monster HDMI Ultra high speed 1000 HD HDMI Cables , need i say more. These cables improved the sound and video to the next level. They are a little pricey but they were well worth every penny.

    WOW!!!

    I used to think the same as everybody else, "It's a digital signal, you can't change 0's and 1's, so I am buying the cheapest cable I can find!" Well let me tell ya, it's not neccesarily about the digital signal but the speed of that signal. Think of it this way, remember dial-up internet service? Remember how it would take anywhere between 30 seconds and 30 minutes to load a page, and how one part of the page would load and then a picture, and so on? But now, with broadband internet the entire page comes up at once. Relate that to high-speed HDMI cables, the faster the digital signal can get to your HD TV, the better it will look.



    I previously owned a "Big Box" store brand HDMI, and it made 3 different HD TV's pixelate. Well, I no longer own that cable, and now have this one, and it is 200% better. As far as price goes, yeah its $100 for a cable that is slightly longer than your arm, but when buying a $2000 - $5000 HD TV, why skimp out on the cable? Also, with Monster's Lifetime Warranty and "Cable for Life" replacement policy, how can you lose?

    It's pretty and it works, but then again so does any digital cable. After all, it's only carrying ones and zeros.



    However there is one thing that should be addressed. This not only is directed to Monster, but all those companies that use over-packaging. These bulky heavy plastic housings that are so difficult to open and hardly fall into the "Green" category.



    On a lighter note, Crutchfiled is the best company with whom I have ever dealt. They don't do every thing perfectly, but in the end you could not purchase from a better vendor. Therefore, they get five stars.

    Great quality cable but over priced. All you need is any HDMI cable that adheres to HDMI 1.3a standard.
    But some people think that the quality on their audio/video system is directly in proportion to what they spent on it.
