Overview: The Sony NWZ-S618F portable
digital audio/video player has a built-in 8GB flash memory that can store up to
5,050 songs, 30 hours 40 minutes of video, 10,000 still photos, or a combination of the
three. It also has an FM tuner built-in and you can store data files.
Home Menu:
The home menu offers a pathway to all the player's functions:
- Intelligent Shuffle:

Multiple Audio Formats: The
NWZ-S618F Walkman comes with software for customers who
already have extensive MP3 music libraries to store and play back their
collection. This device supports playback of MP3, WMA, AAC, and Linear PCM (WAV)
files.
Intelligent Shuffle: This
feature offers two random play modes:
- Time Machine Shuffle:
player randomly selects a year, then plays songs from that year in random
order
- Shuffle All: all tracks
stored on the player are played in random order
Photo Library:
Up to 1,000 folders can contain a total of up to 10,000 still photos. Options in
the photo settings menu include:

Music Library: The 8GB NWZ-S618F will hold
up to 5,050 songs (4 minutes each, recorded at 48 kbps). You can search for
music by Album name, Artist name, Genre, Release year, Folder name, or all songs
can be listed alphabetically by song title. Once you select a category, you can
then play all the matching songs, or further narrow your search to a single
song. Options in the music menu include:

normal, repeat, shuffle, shuffle & repeat, repeat one song
- Equalizer:
none (flat), heavy, pop, unique, and two custom curves can be programmed
with the 5-band EQ (400 Hz, 1 kHz, 2.5 kHz, 6.3 kHz, and 16 kHz) and Clear

choose downloaded art or a generic Sony file

video fits on the 8GB flash drive (recorded at 384 kbps video, 128 kbps audio).
Up to 1,000 titles are listed in the library with their time. Options in the

Playlists: You can create playlists
of tracks using the included Windows Media Player 11 software and transfer them
the the NWZ-S618F. Once transferred, access them using the Playlist icon on the
home menu.
Now Playing:
Return the the display showing the currently playing song from the home menu
using the now playing icon
USB 2.0 High Speed: You can
easily transfer your music to the NWZ-S618F at high speeds via the WM-PORT using
the included USB cable.
Hold Button: This button allows
you to lock and disable the controls on the player.
Charging the Battery: The embedded Lithium Ion battery
is charged by connecting the player to a computer
using the supplied USB cable. The battery charges to approximately 80% in 1.5 hours
while a full charge takes approximately 3 hours.

Player 11 software is included and allows you to import audio and video data to your computer from
external sources (audio CDs, internet, etc), then transfer to your NWZ-S618F.
