The quest for better sound doesn't have to be difficult and expensive — at least not with Boston's TVee Model 25. You'll be wowed by the difference in clarity and powerful sound — it completely outclasses your TV's tiny speakers. Best of all, you'll hear all that sonic goodness without a separate AV receiver. You can get sound from your television to the Model 25 using either of the supplied cables: standard stereo RCA patch cord or optical digital. There's also a minijack input so you can listen to tunes from your portable. Boston's special Music Mode brings stereo clarity to listening from your portable — simply delightful.

A svelte two-piece ensemble
The TVee system includes two components: a slender stereo sound bar and a compact wireless subwoofer. Together they provide big, room-filling sound. Dialogue and other sonic details are clearly articulated, even when you're not sitting directly in front of your TV. The sound bar is wall-mountable with built-in keyhole slots, or just set it down in front of the TV.

The included subwoofer might look small, but it offers plenty of depth. It gives you the booms and rumbles that make action flicks and suspense movies so exciting at the theater. And since it's wireless, you can place it just about anywhere in your room — just plug it into a nearby power outlet and you're set.

Features

Overview: The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 25 is a two-piece home theater entertainment system that consists of a soundbar speaker and wireless subwoofer with virtual surround sound. The TVee Model 25 offers dramatically better sound quality than your flat-panel TV's built-in speakers. There is only one cable which connects the system to your television and you can control it with your TV's remote. The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 25 is perfectly sized for flat-panel TVs 32" or larger.

Soundbar Speaker: The TVee Model 25's soundbar achieves its stunning audio performance through the use of Boston's low-distortion, wide-bandwidth HHRT (Hyperbolic High Rigidity Transducer) driver technology. The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 25 soundbar is equipped with dual 1-1/2" x 6" HHRT (Hyperbolic High-Rigidity Tranducer) drivers inside a bass-reflex enclosure made of ABS plastic. The soundbar can be placed above or below your 32" or larger flat-panel TV. It should be centered with your television. There are two large keyhole slots (22.8125" apart) to facilitate mounting it on a wall (mounting template supplied).

Wireless Subwoofer: The wireless-powered subwoofer is equipped with a down-firing 6" woofer inside a bass-reflex enclosure with a downfiring 2.25" (diameter) port. The wireless subwoofer's enclosure is made of ABS and has been internally braced with MDF to eliminate resonance. The TVee Model 25 system's 6" down-firing wireless subwoofer delivers deep and powerful bass. The TVee Model 25's powered subwoofer gets its signal from the system's soundbar wirelessly (2.4 GHz), so it can be placed virtually anywhere in the room (up to 25').

150 Watt (Peak) System Power: The soundbar and wireless subwoofer are self-powered and each are equipped with its own built-in amplifier. The TVee Model 25 features a total system power of 150 watts to drive both the soundbar and wireless subwoofer. With a total system power of 150 watts, the TVee Model 25 virtual surround sound speaker system envelops you in rich, room-filling audio.

Digital Optimized Virtual Surround: The TVee Model 25 features Boston's digitally optimized virtual surround processing for pinpoint, theater-like, surround sound. You can indicate whether you have table-top or wall-mounted the soundbar speaker for better imaging. The soundbar's exclusive Boston DSP control switch maximizes performance for movies and music.

Movie Mode: In the Movie Mode, Boston's Digitally Optimized Virtual Surround delivers clear movie dialogue and music along with cinematic surround audio effects.
Music Mode: the Music Mode provides enhanced digital stereo music reproduction.

One Wire TV Connection: The TVee Model 25's soundbar speaker connects to your television with either a single stereo RCA cable or optical digital cable (also requires AC power). You can get this signal from your TV's audio output, or from your satellite/cable box. The powered subwoofer gets its signal wirelessly (2.4 GHz) from the soundbar; it only requires plugging into an AC outlet.

Analog Stereo: The soundbar speaker features an analog stereo RCA input to connect your TV or sat/cable box.
Digital Optical: The soundbar speaker also features an optical digital input for Dolby Digital decoding from your connected TV or sat/cable box.

Auxiliary Input: The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 25 features a stereo auxiliary (3.5mm) input to connect your portable MP3 player or other mobile audio device.

Volume Controls: The soundbar speaker is equipped with front-mounted volume controls. You can also program your television's or satellite/cable box's remote control to operate the soundbar's volume. The wireless subwoofer features a rear-panel independent volume control (min-max).

Trim Level Switch: The soundbar's trim-level switch changes the input sensitivity (1-3) of the TV Model 25 to match the output level of your TV or satellite/cable box.

Wireless ID Switches: The wireless subwoofer connects to the soundbar automatically. Both the soundbar and subwoofer have wireless ID switches, The various switch settings (1-4) change frequency of the wireless signal the soundbar sends to the subwoofer. The two switches must be set to the same position.

Overall I am pleased. Great price from the Crutchfield outlet. Arrived quickly as always. Install was easy, recessed connection area leaves room for wires. Hook up was a breeze. Sound is pretty good. Hard to overstate the improvement compared to stock LG LED TV speakers. It is A LOT better than stock tv speakers. Obvoiusly not a 5.1 system. My Energy Take 5 are a lot better for a similar price But for space conscious and those not wanting to redo alot of trim, drywall and baseboards to run speaker wires, this is the best alternative . No extra remote, learns the one you already use. Only drawback is it is weaking havoc on my smart tv wi-fi reception. Since it pairs to a wireless sub-woofer, and its right under my smart tv i have been having trouble getting on my home network with the tv. Will try switching channels to see if that resolves it.

Pros:

Sound, installation, learns your remote.

Cons:

Wireless signal affects my wi-fi tv

Boston sound bar

great sound for music......just good for movies and TV....if you have problems with remote picking up a good signal to the sound bar, just remove the front grill on the bar , then remove the small round plastic lens cover over the sensor , put the grill back on. That will increase the sound bar sensors range to the front and side.

Pros:

great sound for music....good base...wireless

Cons:

not so great for movies and TV but better than cheap TV speakers ....can muffle out dialog...a little expensive.

Good With Music But Poor Television Performance

The first thing I wanted to do when I installed this system is see how it performed with music and it did well. However, the dialogue during movies and television is very muddy and hard to distinguish. The lack of inputs is disappointing as well even though the set up is simple and clean. There are better sounding systems on the market at this price point.

Pros:

Good sound with music. Good build quality.

Cons:

Lack of inputs. Muddy dialogue with television and movies.

Subwoofer did not work on first order. Replacement order the Soundbar remote would not work properly. Switched to first soundbar and the replacement subwoofer. Everything is working now. Crutchfield team was great.

Pros:

Sound is better than the TV. Crutchfield advisor.

Cons:

Remote hard to set up. Had to replace subwoofer right out of box.

The remote only works from directly in front of, or to the left of, the sound-bar. Move it even slightly to the right of the perpendicular from the unit and it won't work at all with the grill on. Take the front grill off and the remote works from the right as well as the left. The location of the IR receiver lens was a very poor design choice.

The sound from both the sound-bar and the sub-woofer is fine, too bad this remote thing is a deal killer. When I spend this much on something like this, I want everything to work the way it's supposed to.

Not worth the price

I did not expect surround quality and neither should you, it is a soundbar. What you should expect from this category of speakers, a crisper clearer sound with better delivery and power than your tv's stock speakers. And based on price, subwoofer performance somewhere between a little depth and trembling furniture. That said, for what this system delivers it has a value of $80, then take off $10-15 for the poor remote situation.

Pros:

Bar itself has pretty clear sounds, better than than tv's built in speakers.

Cons:

Horrible remote control response, tested multiple remotes, never got better. For the cost, pretty shameful not to include a remote. Program the tv remote to it easily, but then the tvs volume goes with it. subwoofer is almost pointless, can hear but not feel the bass, crossover allows alot of vocal thru.

Good deal

Bought this BA Model 25 on sale. It is the model 25 not the older one. It is a good addition to a flat screen TV because the sound from all flat screens is weak. Not 5.1 and not as good as a real surround sound system but it does sound very good. The bass is nice with punch and the dynamic range is full.

The future that lets you program this to use with your remote is easy to set up and a great future. 5 stars for that. No need for multiple remotes, I programed it for my cable remote.

Someone else pointed out that you should turn your TV volume down / off so you only hear this unit. Would defiantly recommend for the price I paid 5 stars. Not sure about it for full price.

This unit has very good sound! Bass is crisp and solid, not muddy or mushy as some are. Mids and trebels are very sharp and defined. This is a huge improvement over the stock speakers and I would buy them again in a heartbeat! This is a cost-effective way to get a great sound without spending a lot of money. If you want surround sound, then get a surround system. I'd rather have this sound bar than have a muddy sounding cheaper surround sound system any day and be unhappy with the quality of the sound. The guys at Crutchfield are great!!!

Looked for speakers for bedroom. I had first purchased the vizio 32 inch soundbar with wireless sub, the led lights went out right away, so returned it (read reviews where that was a common problem). Looked for another 32 inch soundbar with wireless sub found this one. A little more expensive than vizio but size I needed. Easy set up, wireless sub, works with tv remote. Better than tv speakers, but not as great as 5 speaker surround.

I searched the internet for a couple of weeks for sound bar reviews. I visited a
few electronics stores to compare products and decided to purchase the
Boston Acoustics TVee Model 25. Although it does not perform as well as my 7
speaker surround sound, it made it to the top of my list for sound quality in a
sound bar system. I like the wireless subwoofer and the sound bar sound
quality is above average for this price range. All in all, I am very happy with my
purchase.
