The receiver kit was easy enough to install. Take your time. Pre-fit it. check out the extra tabs that you may have to remove to get your stock trim to fit. Make sure the attachment screw holes for the stock screws are big enough and in the right place. If not, drill them a little bigger. Hard to do, but try not to drop the screws. You can attach the screws with a little tape to the end of your screwdriver or socket with a little tape to hold them on till you get them threaded in. Once done, the receiver kit looked like a factory job. Very nice.

Pros:

Looks good. Fits good. Easy to install.

Cons:

Some of the extra tabs have to be removed in order for the stock surrounding dash to be placed over the kit. This was for a 03 Vibe. Other vehicles may be different. One of the kit screw holes was smaller that the stock screw and had to be drilled out just a little. I did this so as not to crack the kits bracket.

This does what it's supposed to and holds my new radio securely into my car's dash. While it isn't the highest quality product I've ever used, it does the job and I don't foresee any problems with it. I'm glad that Crutchfield includes this since it would have been a pain, and probably cost some money, to get somethings from somewhere else instead.

I had never replaced a stereo myself before, so forgive me if I don't know the lingo- there's no hole for a bottom left screw when installing this in the 2003 Vibe, but everything else went in just fine. The real problem is that the dash cover doesn't completely close on the right side. Also, I had to cut the front face piece so that the face of the stereo could fold down for CDs

Kit went in easy.

Pros:

The holes lined up perfect with the factory mounting holes. The radio fit perfect in the kit.

Cons:

Several extra holes on the side of the kit needed to be removed so that the factory trip would fit.

My first one came in broke, the plastic mounting tabs are not very strong. Crutchfeild sent out another and I got the stereo installed.

Pros:

Came with the new stereo at no extra cost.

Cons:

Cheap and it doesn't fit the best (The factory bezel doesn't fully seat back to the dash) it is really close though

Get that bulky, dim, stuffy, featureless factory stereo out of there and get
something awesome instead. This unit installs easily and is a no-brainer. As
a bonus you gain a storage space underneath for an iPod, remote or whatever
else.

This item works fine. It just feels a bit cheap and isn't the most attractive thing. Had to remove a few of the included brackets so my screwdriver fit properly to tighten. This was no big deal though since they weren't needed. Gets the job done.

Ugly and Cheap

First, It probably works fine, but I did not attempt to install it.

My wife and I both agreed after one look at it that it looked cheap and ugly. Thankfully, my car already had one of these installed with another aftermarket stereo. It was just little things like the exterior finish and the older one had beveled edges around the opening to the storage bay. Make no mistake, the previous one is just cheap plastic as well, but it looks worlds better than this one. I threw this one away. My car is not fancy (2003 Toyota Matrix), but this thing is ugly. I'm sure its mother loves it.

I have a 2008 pontiac vibe the installation was extremely easy. I love this product. I was initially alarmed as the side tabs kept the stereo cover from sliding into place. As another reviewer stated remove the tabs prior to installation.

What a great and easy setup. I now have an extra compartment to hold ....? whatever. Stereo fit perfectly and the whole thing went in very easily. It feels very secure after tightening everything down and is completely flush with dash. So nice not to have a stereo that says, "Hey I'm new in here, come look at me, check me out and get me out." It really looks like the stereo came with the car, only better looking than the OEM.

Extremely easy to install. Looks good. Does the job. Break off the pieces like the review below says. Instructions could be updated a bit to reflect this. I used a couple of washers to help straighten out the rear bracket.

This kit was easy to install and the instructions were straight forward. Break off excess mounting tabs to allow easier access to right side bottom mounting screw. It is easy to drop the screw if you don't have a magnetized driver. When you have the kit in place save the right bottom screw for last, then place the screw in front of the hole with your left hand by going over the top of the kit that way you don't have a balancing act by going through the front. Then bring your driver through the front while holding the screw in place with your left hand.
