    Features

Superior Headphone Housing: The superior headphone housing used in the AH-D2000 to produce high quality sound is made of materials yielding exceptional acoustic characteristics ensuring faithful reproduction of the original sound. Compound metal is used to increase density, making the sound more stable and clear.

Driver: The Denon AH-D2000 headphones feature a 50mm driver with a 1-31/32" Neodymium magnet in each ear-cup to reproduce delicate musical details and powerful sound.

Microfiber Diaphragm: A micro-fiber has been used to form the headphone's diaphragm so that it faithfully reproduces the sonic details and delicate reverberations that occur in concert halls.  The size of the micro-fibers is approximately 1/100 that of natural cellulose used in ordinary diaphragms, and with this density, transmission rates are increased.

Acoustic Optimizer: The acoustic optimizer provides optimum acoustic characteristics by adjusting the sound pressure balance in front of and behind the diaphragm.  This makes the sound more dynamic, provides clear bass, and also keeps balance at low to mid frequency ranges.

Comfortable Fit: The headphones use a light-weight magnesium frame and feature vinyl covered foam ear-cups that gently rest over the ear and a padded adjustable headband for added comfort.

High Quality OFC Cable: The cable used is made of high purity 99.9% 7N OFC cable and employs an aluminum connector cover and a cloth mesh jacket.  The High-quality cables are of equal length for the Left and Right channels to maintain optimum sound quality and performance.

Connector: The headphones feature a gold-plated 3.5mm mini-plug connector for superior signal transfer with an aluminum cover to add more durability. The headphones also come supplied with a gold-plated 3/4" adapter plug.

    Denon AH-D2000

Written By Scott, Union, NJ on Saturday, October 04, 2008

These are by far the best headphones I have ever experienced, and are really spectacular--especially for bass. However, they are large and heavy, you only get about a ten foot distance from your audio source, and they are not $200 overall better sound-wise than my Denon AH-D1000 headphones for which the sound reproduction is outstanding.

    Fantastic Movie & Music Headphones!

Written By HiTekJeff, IL on Friday, January 04, 2008
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these as a gift having never tried Denon headphones before. However, I did read REAL good reviews on several home theater web sites and like their high-end DVD players and receivers. I am very glad I went with them. They are EXCELLENT for both movies & music! The headphones are made of VERY high quality material and feel really good for long times. NOTE: I do NOT recommend them for those with small heads or children. These are quite heavy but comfortable, but they can be hard to position just right if you have a very small frame due to the full wrap around ears and how large the cans are. In short, they are truly dynamic and you would have to spend at least 2 or 3X this amount to find better and I would buy them again.

    Excellent Fidelity

Written By Robert, Chandler, AZ on Thursday, October 11, 2007
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I back-ordered these headphones a long while ago based on previous experience with Denon headphones. The previous pair I had lasted for over ten years. My own abuse killed them, and so that is why I had to eventually buy a new pair.

The original pair I had cost approximately the same as these, so I did not have a problem paying the admittedly hefty price for these, hoping they would at least equal the quality of my old pair. Well, I was not disappointed. This pair of headphones is very good. The fidelity of sound is excellent and the earcups are large enough to completely surround my ear, blocking most outside noise.

The highs and lows are equally impressive and you can play even the most bass-laden of classical or modern hip-hop through these headphones with rich reproduction. You can tell the bit rate of mp3's if you listen to them with these, as the compression of the highs and lows is easily revealed with bit rates under 192 kbps.

I also play the drums and use these to listen to the tracks as I play. Due to the sound isolation qualities of the design of the ear cups and the excellent fidelity of the headphones themselves, I can actually play without having to max the volume, which is good news for my hearing.

Overall, these are an excellent set of headphones and I would recommend them to anyone.
