My big thing is to make the radio look like it belongs and this dash kit makes it look clean and beautiful everybody here comments on how good it looks with my kenwood stereo and now my pickup looks fantastic since the stereo isn't just hanging out of a hole thanks to the sides makes it fit properly Instead of it hanging out of the hold looking bad

Good looking, easy install, holds radio with metal tabs firmly, extends the room inside the dash

This dash kit replaced brother in laws original in 92 Chevy pickup; color was pretty close to original. Good fit and look, but the install of factory vents with clips were cumbersome and vent would not rotate from clip fitting snug. Overall, good repalcement.

Pros:

Good color match to original (pretty close to), good fit.

Cons:

Installing a/c vents and clips were a pain and not able to move up or down; just the horizontal would work.

Great product for a great price, however, I got the wrong color. The listing said medium beige and I got what looks like a grey color. In reality, my truck is a 93 Chevy with a mocha color dash.

In-dash kit

I had called crutchfield prior to ordering this part that was included in the setup I needed for my stereo installation. I had asked specifically about the "clips" that came with it for mounting purposes to secure this installation piece into my truck. I was told that it did have the clips and everything I needed for installation was there. When I recieved the package the important clips I needed, the gold colored ones that pop into the holes of my vehicle did not come with this piece. I had ended up going to my local salvage yard and finding some clips that would help me finish my installation. Also keep in mind when ordering these replacement dash parts especially for older vehicles there is going to be paint fade and these are freshly painted, so there is going to be a stark contrast in color.

Pros:

Fits my radio just fine.

Cons:

Security clips non-existent. Non-matching paint color.

The advisor on this order was incorrect. The OEM clips are not included with this item. The clips must be removed from the original panel for installation. In addition, it is certainly possible that color match could be off due to sun fading.

This worked fairly well. the instructions could have gone one step further in explaining where to reroute the wires in the dash, but it didn't take long to figure out. The A/C vents are a little loose in the new trim piece. Not unbearable, but it would be nice if they were retained better. Everything else was awesome. It clicked right in, under the dash has more room without that dang stock amp/radio thing... the color matched pretty well even though mine is pretty sun faded.

Pros:

Looks nice. Fairly easy install.

Cons:

A/C vents are a little wiggly. As someone stated, it would be cool if the vents came with it so they fit correctly.

Another great product that GM came up with. I am sure several years after they created these vehicles, their factory tape players were starting to die out, so they had to create something for those consumers that wanted an after market product. This item fit perfectly and was easy to install. The only thing we had some issues with was inserting the old vents from the piece we took out. It gave us a little bit of trouble, but eventually went in. It would be a little better if they sold it WITH the vent pieces too. Just an idea, GM.
