Purchased these for the front doors on an FJ Cruiser. They fit with adaptor plates or clever work with hollowing out the factory speaker and using its plastic shroud. The sound from these is very precise and clear. Tight bass with no distortion. The ability to focus the tweeter towards the listener is great. Wish these were visible since they look better in person than in the pictures. They need more power than my factory HU can give them so I'm adding an Alpine MRX-V70 to give these speakers what they need to sing. So far very impressed. Crutchfield speaker hook ups worked great! I'll update once the amp goes in.

These speakers are excellent! The best 6x9 speakers I have heard. Not only do they look great but they are extremely clear & detailed. I have a pair of Alpine Spr-60c Components in the front & these focals are in the rear of my SUV, all powered by an alpine PDX F4 (100w RMS x4) . The Alpines pack a serious punch as they can handle 110 rms, but aren't nearly as detailed as the focals. I only wish I had a pair of focals in the front as well. Some may call these speakers a little "bright" to listen to, but after the proper adjustments with a head-unit they sound amazing. I think they have a substantial amount of clean sounding bass for speakers their size. No distortion at all! The attached tweeters are slightly adjustable by rotating it clockwise or counterclockwise. A WORD OF CAUTION however; I was a little disappointed to find that these speakers do NOT come with speaker grilles. Crutchfield's website shows a grille attached to these focals in one of the profile pictures which can be misleading. After talking to crutchfield customer service they told me they do not carry the grille for the 690 CA-1 speakers nor can they order them from focal for me. I find it odd that such a expensive speaker does not come with grilles for protection. Crutchfield offered for me to send the speakers back for free & order another pair of speakers that have grills on them. Unfortunately the next focal 6x9 speakers up from these, the Performance PC 690, are $150 more than these
