    Portable Bluetooth Powered Speaker: The BOOM Urchin water-resistant, portable Bluetooth speaker is ideal for your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablets, players and other devices. The BOOM Urchin supports Bluetooth audio streaming and Bluetooth hands-free communication. This unit pairs with your Bluetooth-enabled device with a single press of a button. Once paired, the Urchin will automatically re-connect with your device when in wireless range (up to 33').

    • Bluetooth Audio Streaming (A2DP): The BOOM Urchin portable speaker streams stereo music wirelessly from Bluetooth-enabled devices such as your Apple iOS device, Android smartphone/tablet, Blackberry, computer/PC or other devices. The Urchin offers basic playback control (Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track, Volume Up/Down) of your music. You will continue to use your Bluetooth-enabled device for advance navigation of your music and to view song/artist information.
    • Built-in Hands-Free Communication (HFP): The BOOM Urchin features a built-in microphone and a Answer/En button so you can answer phone calls, talk on Skype, or use Facetime from the speaker. You will continue to use your Bluetooth-enabled device to view video calls, dial a number, and control advanced phone functions.
    Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the BOOM Urchin.

    Rugged Design: The BOOM Urchin Bluetooth speaker is water resistant, so you can use it in the shower, outdoors, or by the pool. It is also shockproof and dustproof which makes it perfect for hiking and the beach.

    Removable Silicone Skin: The BOOM Urchin water-resistant, portable Bluetooth speaker includes a pre-installed silicone skin which helps protect the speaker from water, dust, and shock. The pre-installed silicone skin can be removed and replaced by other skin colors (sold separately).

    Mounting Attachments: The BOOM Urchin Bluetooth speaker includes a self-adhesive mount (pre-installed), a suction-cup mount, and a carabiner clip so you can mount it almost anywhere. The pre-installed silicon skin also includes an integrated looped handle

    Two Full-Range Speakers: The BOOM Urchin employs two full-range speakers and built-in amplifier for great sound.

    Aux Input: In addition to built-in Bluetooth, the BOOM Urchin is fitted with a 3.5mm auxiliary input for connection of almost any portable audio player with a headphone output.

    LED Indicator: A LED indicator lets you know when the built-in battery needs to be recharged, as well as when the BOOM Urchin is in Bluetooth listening or pairing mode.

    Rechargeable Battery: The BOOM Urchin water resistant speaker has a built-in rechargeable battery that provides approximately 10 hours of playback time on a single charge. The battery is easily recharged from the speaker's built-in USB port, using the included AC power adapter or a free USB port on your computer. The AC power adapter can also be used to power the speaker.

    I bought this speaker for my teenage daughter, who swims/coaches on a synchronized swimming team. The girls practice their routines to music both in the water and on the pool deck ... so a durable, watertight speaker is essential. This product fits the bill, and has outstanding sound as well ... much better than the competing $200 bluetooth speaker I use.

    The Boom Urchin is an excellent way to listen to your music while on the go. I had some hesitation about ordering a portable bluetooth speaker. The speakers i had heard in the past were small but sounded aweful and were cheaply made. I felt better about the order after i learned that Boom is a company owned by the same company that owns polk audio. When i received it i pulled the packaging out of the box and right away i could tell it was heavier than i had anticipated and when i opened it the speaker was bigger than i thought as well. The speaker isn't too big though, just right in my opinion. The speaker feels very well made and durable. The directions to use it are very simple. I plugged it in and let it charge for about 4 hours and it was good to go. The sound this device puts out is AMAZING!! It simply blows away any other bluetooth speaker of its size. The clarity even when cranked up is very good and the speaker will get very loud. Great mids and highs , even the bass is passable for a unit of this size. Very nice product , a bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

    I have had the jambox for a year now and as soon as I got my Urchin I gave away the jambox! The sound on this thing is amazing and it is so convenient with it's sleek look and key ring attachment! You can take it anywhere even in the shower!!! I love this thing!!!

    Stoked when I got mine. Its super loud and just what I need when I'm on the go. love that it is water proof, and can't wait to take it snowboarding to really put it to the test!

    Goodbye Jambox, Hello Urchin

    A year ago I purchased a Jambox and thought I was in paradise. I came across an article reviewing the Urchin online and was intrigued by the water resistant and drop resistant properties of the device. Also I found the different mounts for the shower and carabiner extremely convenient. In the end I decided to pre-order one and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Not only is it more durable and better looking, it sounds better too! For anyone on the go, this is one accessory that you definitely cannot live without!

    Water resistant, drop resistant, dust resistant, long battery life, loud, compatibility with all devices.
