Infinity's UniPivot design allows you to aim each textile dome tweeter toward your ears, so you enjoy excellent stereo imaging even if the speakers are mounted way down low in your doors. Each tweeter features a level control switch so you can boost the brightness to your taste.

Larger woofer for more bass
The REF-6502ix appeals to bassheads too, with tough polypropylene woofers and durable hi-roll rubber surrounds that deliver strong low-frequency performance. Each Plus One+ woofer sports a significantly larger cone than speakers of similar size, adding plenty of punch to the speaker's smooth and accurate highs.

Great for any power supply
You can power these speakers with up to 60 watts of RMS power — they'll work great with an external amplifier, but they're also sensitive enough to be a good match for a factory or aftermarket stereo. Plus, Infinity comes up with a safe way to get a little more power out of your system — these 3-ohm speakers combine with the speaker wire in your car so your car stereo sees actual 4-ohm impedance. Grilles are included along with Infinity logo badges that can be attached to your factory grilles.

Note: Infinity describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

    Features

    Plus One+ Woofer Cones: Each speaker uses a cone significantly larger than other speakers of the same size. This is accomplished by using a unique basket design and hi-roll surround. The Plus One+ design offers greater bass output and increased efficiency.

    Hi-roll Rubber Surrounds: The hi-roll rubber surrounds allow the woofers a greater range of movement, resulting in longer X-max and more bass output.

    Textile Dome Tweeters (UniPivot Design): Each speaker uses an edge-driven textile dome tweeter for smooth, accurate highs. The UniPivot design mounts the tweeter at an angle and pivots, so the tweeter can be pointed at the listeners, optimizing the stereo image for a more uniform response. The tweeter housing can be turned approximately 315 degrees.

    Tweeter Level Control: A switch on the front of the tweeter allows you to boost the tweeter output to +3dB, useful if the speakers are mounted low in a door where high frequencies are easily absorbed.

    True Four Ohm Impedance Technology: The speaker's 3-ohm impedance combined with the impedance of your speaker wire provides a true 4-ohm load to your connected head unit or amplifier.

    Power Handling: Although Infinity rates the 6502ix speakers at 60 watts RMS (continuous average), they also recommend amplifiers with a power rating from 5 to 125 watts RMS.

    Mounting: Without an adapter, the 6502ix speakers fit standard 6-3/4" applications. Given their required cutout, they will also fit standard 3-hole 6-1/2" and 4-hole 6-1/2" applications without an adapter, but new screw holes must be drilled. Using the included adapter brackets they can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications, without any modification.

    I replaced the worn out speakers in my 2003 Silverado with these speakers. The installation was pretty easy with the helpful links on the website. The speakers sound great and I couldn't be happier. I might just look into a new radio in the future to go with the new speakers.

    Updated speakers in Class A motorhome

    Installed 2 sets of speakers in our Class A motorhome -one set in front cabinets over driver/passenger area and second set in cabinets over bed in rear of coach. Each set sounded different driven by the cabinet size. Front cabinets were deeper giving more bass but muffled sound. Cup your hands around your mouth as if you were going to shout at someone - this is what it sounded like. This was easily fixed by buying polyfill at Walmart and loosely stuffing the cabinets. Add/delete polyfill stuffing to achieve your desired baseline sound quality with stereo treble/bass tone settings at zero. Rear speakers sounded great with no tweaking required. Yes I would buy them again. These speakers greatly improved our factory speakers!
    Pros:
    Love the angled tweeters & 3db gain option to direct sound where I want it. Grill design makes for easy installation - it pops off allowing easy access to 4 mounting screws. Additional gasket material included provides a nice seal option.

    Excellent sounding speaker. Used to replace the stock speakers in a 2005 Jeep Liberty. They sound great. Hooked up to the stock amplifiers in the doors. I left the stock dash speakers in. I will either disconnect them or replace them if they go bad.

    Good price, came with adapters to fit the doors. Crutchfield sent additional adapters that I didn't need.

    Installed this speaker system in my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. Very easy to do with included instruction sheets, brackets and wire harness adapters. sounds great even with a factory radio still installed and no amp. Clean and crisp through out the sound level from low to high. Replaced both front and rear door speakers with this model.

    Infinity REF-6502ix 6.5"/6.75" 2-Way Car Speaker in Silverado

    The Infinity REF-6502ix 6.5"/6.75" 2-Way Car Speaker is an excellent choice to replace OEM front door speakers in a 2006 Chevy Silverado. The OEM speaker is mounted in a bracket that holds the speaker in the door and lifts the speaker to fill the gap between the speaker and the door panel speaker opening. The OEM speaker has a foam face that seals to the door panel opening. There is be a gap between the aftermarket Infinity speakers and the door panel opening of about .8 inches.

    I installed the speakers straight to the door. I ended up going with 0 db on the tweeters and with them orientated down and slightly facing forward. You really can't appreciate the speaker's performance from listening to the radio. You need to play a CD to really appreciate the sound quality. At half volume, I'm ready to get run out of the cab. At that level there zero distortion. I used weather seal foam tape to seal the Infinity speakers to the door panel. I figured if I didn't seal the speaker, like the OEM's were sealed, I'd be losing some sound to the door panel void because there's a gap between the Infinity and the door panel. I used Duck brand .5 inch thick by .75 inch wide weather seal self adhesive foam and applied it at the door around the speaker outside edge and at the door panel around the speaker opening.

    I installed these speakers in my 2008 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab P/U and they are a good upgrade from the factory speakers. I am using the factory head unit with these and they sound great! Installation wasn't a problem using the instructions supplied from Crutchfield. If you do not have plastic trim tools to remove the door panels I would suggest getting them from Crutchfield so you don't damage your door panels while removing them.

    My 2008 Sierra Extended cab pickup has the speakers mounted in the lower door panels, right on the floorboards. This really kills the high end. I tried a couple of speakers that had really good sound in other vehicles, but they just sounded really "muddy" , even with tweeters installed in the sail panels, due to the low speaker placement in my truck. These Infinitys were recommended, I replaced all 4 speakers and I am really pleased with the sound. They have a switch to increase the tweeter +3 db and also rotate the tweeter upwards. These have really brought out the sound of the Kenwood DDX419 head unit. You can't really expect a lot of base with any 6.5 in the door panels and I do use a 12" sub.
    Pros:
    Great performance for the price. High end adjustable +3 db.
    Cons:
    Doesn't come with any speaker wire, in case you have to run any extra.

    I replaced my factory speakers in a Honda Pilot with 2 pairs of the Infinity 6502ix. I also added a Sound Ordinance Subwoofer and and Alpine head unity. I listen to jazz, folk, rock. I don't run the volume up to ear splitting levels but I enjoy a full sound experience. These speakers work great for me. They installed with a little modification to the factory speaker plastic housing. The instructions from Crutchfield were excellent. I am really glad I bought these.

    Installed both front and rear Speaker. They sound very nice much better than the stock ones. The front Speaker came with mounts and a wiring harness very easy to install The rear Speaker did not come with mount had to rework the GM mounts. (not a real big deal) If I were to do it again I would get the 51/4 speaker for the rear they would be much easier to install. Overall with the detailed information that Crutchfield provided on how to remove the door panels thing went very smooth
