Features

Overview: When used with a Satellite Radio Ready Pioneer head unit, this tuner allows you to receive SIRIUS satellite radio programming in your vehicle. In addition to this tuner and antenna, you must have a subscription to SIRIUS Radio to receive SIRIUS digital satellite radio signals.

Note: Satellite radio service is available only within the continental United States. Service is not available in Alaska and Hawaii.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio: SIRIUS Satellite Radio features more than 120 channels of original programming beamed coast-to-coast, including 65 channels of commercial-free, digital-quality music, and news, talk, sports, entertainment, and children's programming.

Compatibility: This tuner is compatible with 2004 and newer Pioneer satellite radio-compatible in-dash receivers that use the IP-Bus protocol. There are two different levels of compatibility: Full Control and External Unit Control. Units that control this receiver through "External Unit Control" have some limitations in operation and display, compared to Full Control models.

Full Control Models (2006):

  • AVIC-Z1, AVH-P7800DVD, AVH-P6800DVD
  • DEH-P9800BT, DEH-P7800MP, DEH-P6800MP, DEH-P4800MP, DEH-P3800MP
  • DEH-P980BT, DEH-P880PRS, DEH-P780MP, DEH-P680MP, DEH-P480MP

External Unit Control Models:

  • 2006 Models: AVIC-N3, AVIC-D2, DEH-P5800MP, DEH-P580MP
  • Older Models: AVIC-N2, AVIC-N1, AVIC-D1, AVH-P7500DVD, AVH-P6600DVD, AVH-P5700DVD, DVH-P5000MP, DEH-P9600MP, DEH-P8600, DEH-P80MP, DEH-P7700MP, DEH-P6700MP, DEH-P4700MP, DEH-P3700MP, FH-P5000MP, FH-P4200MP, DEH-P77DH, DEH-P47DH, DEX-P9, DEH-P960MP, DEH-P860MP, DEH-P8MP, DEH-P770MP, DEH-P670MP and DEH-P470MP.

Enhanced Features: Three special features are available on select Pioneer head units:

  • GameAlert: The receiver notifies you when your favorite team starts playing. Favorite teams are selected in the menu.
  • Game Information (Game Zone): The scores and game status involving your favorite teams are scrolled in the display.
  • MyMix: The receiver will notify you when your favorite songs are playing on other channels.

Note: Check specific models for compatibility to these features.

CD Changer Pass-Thru: The SIRIUS radio tuner uses the CD changer input on the Pioneer head unit. If you also want to use a CD changer, there is a CD changer pass-through connection on the SIRIUS radio tuner, so they can be daisy chained together.

SIRIUS Antenna: The SIRIUS antenna has a powerful magnetic base that allows you to mount the antenna on the roof or trunk lid of your vehicle. The antenna needs to be positioned in such a way that it will be free of mechanical and line-of-sight obstructions.

Inputs and Outputs

Front Panel of Tuner:

  • Bus Output: IP-Bus jack that connects to the head unit using the supplied cable
  • Bus Input: IP-Bus jack that connects to an optional CD changer
  • Power: 4-pin jack for use with supplied power harness

Back Panel of Tuner:

  • Antenna: single SMB input
