Get a quick look at the JVC KW-NX7000 navigation receiver. The touchscreen makes it easy and fun to use and a good array of features, like built-in navigation and direct iPod® control, make it handy to have in your dash.
Hi. I'm Ken and today we're looking at the JVC KW-NX7000 navigation receiver. Now, I'm going to focus on four features of this stereo. The seven inch touchscreen display, navigation, the add-on Bluetooth® module, and iPod® controls.
The 7-inch LCD touchscreen display has an adjustable display angle and brightness, so you'll be able to see it clearly in your dash and you can customize the appearance by selecting from four different background designs in twelve colors. It plays DVD movies and also MPEG video files and you can connect a rear view camera.
Here's a couple of cool touchscreen features. If you want to change your track forward, just drag your finger right across. If you want to change the volume, just spin it like a volume knob take it up or take it down.
Navigation is the highlight of this stereo. The KW-NX7000 does it very well, and you get the benefit of this giant display for viewing the map, your route, and the nav directions. It has twelve million points of interest so you won't have any problem finding important destinations. It also boasts text-to-speech which will announce the names of streets as you need to turn and lane guidance so you won't get caught out in the left lane when you need to exit right. It also has speed limit signs that will show the current speed limit for the road you're on.
Originally Bluetooth was an optional feature for this stereo, but now the Bluetooth adapter is included free. That's a savings of over a hundred dollars. Now, with Bluetooth, you can make and receive phone calls through the stereo. It uses an external mic which you can mount on the mirror, sun visor, or on your dash for optimum pick up, whatever works best for you.
You answer or ignore calls with a quick tap of the touchscreen, plus you can set the stereo to answer or reject all incoming calls automatically. You make calls by using the touchscreen's keypad, selecting a phone book entry, or selecting a number from your call history. You can also stream music to the stereo if you have a Bluetooth capable audio device.
When it comes to listening to your tunes, the KW-NX7000 will take care of you. Just plug your iPod directly into the USB input and then you can operate it with the touchscreen controls. The stereo is compatible with newer iPods including the iPod touch, but if you want to view video from your iPod or if you have an iPhone, then you will need the optional video interface.
Besides the USB input and CD/DVD playback, the stereo also has an audio/video input so no matter what your source, that makes it easy for you to check out all kinds of A/V content, and no matter what you are listening to, it'll sound good thanks to the powerful internal amp, 24-bit D-to-A converter, and a 7-band equalizer for fine tuning.
JVC's amplifier gain control limits the amount of power sent to your speakers. You'll turn that on if you're listening over factory speakers so the music stays as clear as it can, even when you turn up the volume.
