No iPod needed to enjoy podcasts in your car
Like several of my coworkers, I enjoy downloading and listening to podcasts on my computer. Unlike them, I don't have an iPod® or portable MP3 player. But that doesn't stop me from listening to my favorite podcasts when I'm on the road.
Since my in-dash receiver can play MP3s, I simply burn podcasts in MP3 format onto a disc and keep it tucked in the visor CD holder, ready to play when I have a long commute or road trip. Since the podcasts I listen to aren't tied to current events, I have no problem with them going out of date.
Of course, with the increasing variety of inputs available on new in-dash CD receivers, there are other ways to do this. If you have a USB input, you can load your podcasts onto a thumb drive and plug it in. The same goes for SD card slots.
So don't let the "pod" in "podcasts" stop you. Use whatever resources your receiver has to enjoy your favorite podcasts.
