Total control from your favorite device
How many times have you had to search for a missing remote? What if you could just take your smartphone out of your pocket and use it to control your system? Well, with the Logitech Harmony Link, now you can.
The Link turns your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Android smartphone into a universal remote for your home entertainment system. It begins with the free app you download to your device from either the iTunes or Android app store. With it, you can send commands wirelessly to the Harmony Link, which translates the commands into infrared (IR) signals that your A/V gear can understand.
On screen controls
You'll see a virtual control panel on your device. Operate your gear, adjust volume, and more by simply touching the screen. The Link lets you control up to eight devices, and with over 5,000 brands supported, there's a good chance Harmony's data base has the commands for your gear.
One-touch commands
Just like Harmony's popular and easy-to-use line of remote controls, the Harmony Link app lets you select an activity, such as "watch a movie," or "listen to music." The Link will turn on or off the various components necessary and switch them to the proper settings — all you have to do is touch an icon on your device's screen.
With an iPad, you can do even more
Use an iPad? The version of the app you'll download gives you another advantage. A personalized grid of TV listings will appear that lets you search for new shows without interrupting the program you're watching.
When you've made your decision, you can select the program you want to watch right from the listings. With one touch your iPad sends the commands to turn on your system and set the TV to the proper channel.

Included with the Harmony Link is a mini IR blaster. If your system's components are stored in a cabinet or a closet, the blaster can relay commands to them.
From the review Logitech Harmony Link: Finally, the missing Link
"If you've adapted to the smartphone lifestyle, and if you've got an A/V system that uses several remotes, the Harmony Link is easily worth the price of admission. Even more so if you're an iPad owner."
