Just looking at this Panasonic lens, you might not suspect the truth. The fact is, you'd probably be comfortable using this lens on any Micro Four Thirds camera to the exclusion of all others. Before we go hyphen-crazy, let's just say we were duly impressed to see this elegant addition to Panasonic's new "X"-Series of premium lenses. This lens puts big pro-lens capabilities on the front of your small hybrid, while equipping it for genuine coat-pocket portability.
To keep it so small, Panasonic has put two ultra-quiet motors to work, powering the zoom and manual focus functions. There are no focus rings to manage. This is a zoom lens that lives in the sweet-spot range for photography — big wide vistas and vibrant, personal portraits come standard — yet it also gives you high-performance HD video.
