Overview: The Harman Kardon
Go+Play is a
powered, portable speaker system and iPod dock, designed for any iPod with the
dock connector. When the unit is powered with the included AC adapter, it
charges the iPod battery.
The Go+Play will not charge 3rd generation iPods.
The speakers are bi-amplified; 30 watts x 2 for the woofers and 30 watts x 2 for
the tweeters. Harman uses IEQ (Intelligent Equalization) technology to optimize
sound quality for AC and battery power.
iPod Adapters: The Go+Play
features a slot on the top of the unit with the proprietary iPod dock
connector. Two rubber inserts are included for use with the smaller iPods; mini
and nano. Eight plastic dock adapters accommodate a wide variety of iPods.
Controls: The only controls on
the speaker system are volume (up/down) and power (on/off). A wireless RF remote control is
also included which controls both the speaker system and your iPod. Although the
remote only has six buttons, it has both music and iPod modes to offer more
complete control. The controls on the iPod also work while connected to he
Go+Play. There is a storage compartment for the remote on the back of the unit.
Note: The Go+Play volume controls must be used because the iPod's volume
control only affects the headphone output.
Auxiliary Input: In addition to
the iPod dock, there is a 3.5mm mini-jack input on the back of the Go+Play,
making it compatible with any device with a line output. An audio cable is
included with mini-jacks on both ends; if the source you connect has RCA
outputs, an adapter cable is necessary.
USB: You can sync the iPod with
your computer while docked with the Go+Play using the USB Type B connection on
the back. A USB cable is not included.
Video: An S-video output on the
back of the Go+Play sends the iPod photos or movies to your TV. Note: The
video output is not compatible with iPod classic, third generation iPod nano
(with video), iPod touch, or iPhone.
Power Supply: The unit is
powered by the supplied AC adapter or eight D cell batteries. Fresh batteries
will power the unit for approximately 24 hours at nominal volume.
Non-Slip Feet: The bottom of
the Go+Play has four surface-gripping rubber feet to provide a stable
platform on most surfaces.
