Features
Marine Amplifier: The Sony
XM-604M marine amplifier is designed to be used in the harsh marine environment. It
features specially conformal coated circuit boards and gold-plated connectors that resist mold, mildew, and moisture
damage.
Pulse Power Supply: This
amplifier has a built-in power regulator which converts the power supplied by
the 12 V DC marine battery into high speed pulses using a semiconductor switch.
These pulses are stepped up by the built-in transformer and separated into both
positive and negative power supplies before being converted into direct current
again. This is to regulate fluctuating voltage from the marine battery. This
light weight power supply system provides a highly efficient power supply with a
low impedance output.
CEA-2006 Compliant: The
amplifier is CEA-2006 compliant and is rated at 60 Watts RMS x 4-channel in
4ohms at 20-20,000 Hz with 1% THD+N and a signal-to-noise ratio of 97 dBA.
Bridgeable: The Sony XM-604M
marine amplifier is designed for 4-channel or 3-channel applications. You can
use the amplifier to power two pair of full-range speakers or the rear channels
can be bridged to power a subwoofer while the front channels remain stereo to
play your full-range speakers. The amplifier's peak output in 3-channel mode is
110 Watts x 2 + 300 Watts x 1 in 4 ohms.
Protection Circuit and
Indicators: The amplifier
features the following protection circuitry.
- Voltage Loss: the
Power/Protector indicator will not light up if the amplifier does not sense
at least 10.5 - 16V
- Short Circuit: the
Power/Protector indicator will light up Red when the amplifier senses a
short circuit
- Sound Interrupt: the
thermal protector guards the amplifier from overheating and will shut the
amplifier down if it gets too hot
Controls
Gain Controls: The rotary gain
controls allow you to independently set the gain for the Front Channels and Rear
Channels from 0.3V to 6.0V.
High-Pass Crossover: The
amplifier features an 80Hz, 12db per octave high-pass crossover for the front
channels.
Low-Pass Crossover: The
amplifier also features an 80Hz, 18db per octave low-pass crossover for the rear
channels.
Connections
Gold-plated Connectors: The RCA
jacks, power and speaker terminals are gold plated for corrosion resistance and maximum
signal transfer.
Front of the Amplifier: All of
the amplifier's connections are found on the front of the amp.
- Fuse: Two 25 amp fuses
- Power: Screw terminal
(0.375" wide); will accept up to
8-gauge power wire
- Ground: Screw terminal
(0.375" wide); will accept up to
8-gauge ground wire
- Remote Turn-On: Screw
terminal (0.375" wide)
- Speaker Outputs: 8 Screw
terminals (0.375" wide)
- Speaker-Level Input: 8-pin
input for use with included speaker level input harness
- Front
and Rear Line In: Two pair RCA inputs
Speaker Level Input: One
4-channel speaker-level input harnesses is included, allowing you to connect the amplifier
to a receiver without RCA line level outputs. The harness has an 8-pin Molex plug
that easily connects to the amplifier. The amplifier also is equipped with a
Hi-Level Sensing Power On feature that allows the unit to be activated without
need for the Remote turn-on connection when using the speaker level harness.
