10" Waffle Style Speaker Grilles

Although these grills are quite cheap, they are EXCELLENT quality. I was looking for grilles to protect my subs, not really to look great. They fill that role perfectly. As my subs are mounted under the back seat of my '08 Dodge 2500, I was worried about the seat pressing down onto the speakers when people sat in the seat. The seat still flexes like it always has, but the grilles are rock solid. You could literally sit on the grille by itself and it wouldn't bend. Like I said, great quality, especially for the price. The only issue I can see is if you have a really large rubber surround on your woofer. In that case, you might run into clearance issues, especially with a top-mount setup (for the record, both of mine are top-mount and I had no issues). But with Crutchfield's return policy, you can't go wrong.

Pros:

Super heavy gauge steel. Fits 10" Polk Dxi sub perfectly. Easy to install.

Cons:

May have clearance issues with SOME top-mount setups.

Okay Speaker Grilles

Great sturdy Grilles, they will protect your speakers. The only issue I had, was on one of my cars, the speaker stuck out further than the grille clamps would allow. Although I was able to still use them, I got a dowel and cut it to length, about 1/3 inch long for each grille clamp and was able to put a screw through the clamp, then dowel and then into the speaker box.

Pros:

Sturdy and look good

Cons:

had to make a custom mounting surface to use on one speaker box. But still looks and works great.

Works as Planned

I used this grill to protect a 15 in. bass guitar speaker in a home-made cabinet. Fit perfectly and looks good too.

I PURCHASED A JBL GTO804 8" SUB WOOFER FOR MY BOAT AND ALSO PURCHASED A 125G08 8" SPEAKER GRILL AFTER CONSTRUCTING THE PANEL TO INSTALL INTO THE BOAT I OPENED THE PACKAGE OF THE GRILL AND FOUND IT SITS ON TOP OF THE SPEAKER. I KNOW THIS ISN'T THE WAY IT WAS INTENDED TO BE USED SO I GUESS I HAVE TO SEND IT BACK, CAUSE IT DOESN'T FIT. THE ONLY THING I'M UPSET ABOUT IS IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY AN ADVISOR, ALOT HE KNOWS

Fits Infinity 1260W

I purchased one of these grilles (12") for my Infinity 1260W 12" subwoofer. It
fits almost perfectly. It is a little small but if you are willing to see 1/16"
of the speaker's mount all the way around then it is perfect for you.

These didn't work out for an Alpine SWR-1243D

Unfortunately these Grille didn't work out for an Alpine SWR-1243D. These Grille will sit on top of the subwoofer and if you want them to stay on, you'll probably gonna have to drill holes through the grilles. Because these sit right on the subwoofer, the clamps that came with it definitely will not work because you won't be able to mount the clamps and drill them into your box. I ended up having to buy one that was made by Alpine. Judging by the provided clamps, my guess is that these grille are meant for a much smaller subwoofers where these grille do not make any contact with the subwoofer.

Grill Mount info

Very strong, heavy duty. however watch out for the required mounting brackets, if the grill is
mounted flush on the box, they won't work. I suspect the grills are to mount on top of the
speaker frame but note: I bought 10" to cover an 8" sub that is top mounted. If it was
mounted on top of the sub as I think was intended, they would clamp down but I think it
would interfere with the surround of the driver even though mine is not a "long excursion"
woofer. Measurements would be nice for reference since most apps will be custom made.
I'll be sending the brackets back so no big deal, that's part of customizing isn't it. I designed
a better way to mount them and am glad it worked out that way.

I bought this grille for my Infinity Kappa (10") 104.7 sub and it doesn't fit at all. It's not big enough or deep enough for a top mounted installation.
Possibly the manufacturer intended it for an internally mounted sub. Not an option for me. The grille is very sturdy and will definitely to the job so
long as it fits.

The grille is sturdy and looks fine but was not wide enough or tall enough for the 12" RF Punch Stage 2 Sub. Crutchfield can not possibly know every fitment but are more than happy to take them back postage paid on their side. It's not a lot of money but just make sure you tell the rest of us if they don't fit and what the speaker was.

Speaker Grilles

These are nice grills but are exactly the same size as the Polk Audio DB840, I thought they would fit over the speaker. I purchased the clips sold here and they are pretty huge, did not like them either. Do not recommend this product for an 8" sub

I callled to confirm that these grilles would fit my Infinity 1250w subwoofer. It doesn't. The customer service guy assured me it would. Yeah it's sturdy and all, but if it don't fit, what's the use.

The grilles are heavier than they look and will protect your subs very well. Once I had my enclosures finished they look professional. By using these grilles they remind me of professional equipment that can cranked up to 11 on a scale of 1 - 10 and then when done, throw in the truck and be off to your next gig.

If your subs don't come with grills or they come with plastic grills, get these metal ones. Especially if you use the area where your subs are located like the trunk. These grills are strong and will protect your investment no matter what you throw in the trunk. They are kind of ugly, but well worth the protection.

Want to protect your investment? This is the only way to go. Sure the other grills may look cool, but will they stand the test when little brother tosses something in the direction of your system. Perhaps your boogie board gets recklessly thrown in? Why take the chance? They can be easily removed when you just want to show your system.
