via a compatible Harmony universal remote control. With a range of up to 100
feet, you can place your equipment out of sight, or you can even move your
equipment to the next room. Its Z-Wave (RF) Technology enables remote control of audio, visual, lighting,
climate, and security systems without direct line-of-sight. You can even use
additional RF Extender receivers to control multiple entertainment systems. The RF Wireless Extender is designed for use with
the following Logitech remotes:
-
Harmony 1100
- Harmony 1000
- Harmony 895
- Harmony 890 Pro
- Harmony 890
IR/RF Control: Logitech's
Harmony RF Wireless Extender uses radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR)
wireless signals to deliver powerful complete control of your home-entertainment
system that may be hidden behind cabinets when using a compatible Harmony
advanced universal remote control (sold separately). With a wireless range of up
to 100 feet, your Harmony 890, 1000, 1100 remote sends RF commands to the RF
Wireless Extender receiver, which then blasts infrared signals to your
components. You can control up to 8 devices with the supplied 4 dual head IR
emitters (Each emitter can control up to 2 devices).
Installation: The RF Extender
receiver features two keyhole slots and three rubber feet on the bottom of the
unit for installation mounting. For AV cabinet installation, you should
mount the RF Wireless Extender on the underside of the top shelf facing down and
toward the AV devices, with a minimum of 4 inches between the RF Receiver and
your entertainment equipment. The RF Extender receiver should be placed no more
than 8 feet from your A/V equipment if wall mounting the device when using the
supplied IR emitters. The emitters should be attached to the area where the
device receives the IR signal or to a surface above, below or in front of the
area where the device receives the IR signal. The IR emitters feature a
self-adhesive backing to secure them into place. The mini-jack end of the
emitter plugs directly into the Wireless Extender.
Controls: The Harmony RF
Extender features a Connect button on top of the unit to initialize the unit's
RF connection with your compatible Harmony remote control. The RF receiver also
features three red led indicators labeled Status, Power and RF on top of the
unit to indicate the RF receiver's operation.
Connections: The RF
Wireless Extender features the following connections on the rear of the unit.
- USB Port: Contains a
mini-type-B USB port to connect to your computer for remote-setup using the
supplied USB cable.
- 4 Minijack Ports: Features
four 3.5mm minijack ports to plug-in the supplied IR emitters. The ports are
labeled A, B, C and D.
