Features Speakers Remote Control Features Overview: The Bose Speaker Wire Adapter Kit allows you to easily connect pre-installed speaker wiring to a Bose home theater system. The kit includes a 7' home theater speaker cable, a speaker connection plate, a white cover plate and four mounting screws. Compatibility: The Bose Speaker Wire Adapter Kit is designed for use with the Bose Lifestyle home entertainment systems and the Bose Acoustimass speaker systems. It is compatible with both 5.1 and 6.1-channel versions of these systems. The cable can be connected to speaker wire up to 14-gauge. Connections: The 7' supplied cable features six gold-plated male RCA terminals on one end which plug into your Bose Acoustimass module. The other end features a 14-pin proprietary connector which plugs into the front of the speaker connection plate. On the rear of the speaker connection plate is 14 mini set-screw terminals for connecting the pre-existing and already installed in-wall speaker wire. Mounting: The supplied speaker connection plate mounts to a standard single-gang electrical box (sold separately). The included white cover plate mounts over and around the speaker connection plate for a clean and professional looking install. This made it a lot easier to connect my surround speakers plus I didn't have to create new RCA plugs to connect to the bass module. The connectors are a little tight to get 14 gauge wire into, but just use twist on connectors and it's much faster and cleaner or go with 16 gauge. Was this review helpful? The only thing I would change is the gauge size accepted by the terminals on the back of the décor wall plate and maybe give an option for a longer cable connecting from the wall to the Bose unit.
