Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

Our take on the Sony DSX-S310BTX

by Zak Billmeier

It's nice when you can plug your iPod® into your car stereo and play all your tunes on the road, but where do you keep your player when you're driving? Sony's DSX-S310BTX receiver solves this dilemma with its innovative Tune Tray. It lets you connect your iPod and store it inside the stereo, keeping it secure and charged while you drive.

Built-in iPod controls
With your iPod safely stowed, you can access your music library using the stereo's controls. Sony's Quick-BrowZer™ lets you search by artist, album, genre, song, or playlist. You can also fly through your library with Jump Mode, which lets you skip around in 10% increments. An additional USB input on the front panel lets you connect your iPhone® or another USB device.

Enjoy PANDORA® Internet radio streaming via Bluetooth
Built-in Bluetooth lets you talk hands-free, but it also lets you stream music from a compatible device. You can even control your Android™ or Blackberry™ smartphone's PANDORA® app right from the stereo while streaming. iPhone users can control PANDORA® while connected to the front-panel USB input.

Bright, 4-line display
Whether you're making a hands-free call, streaming a PANDORA® station, or listening to your iPod, Sony's 4-line Organic Electro-Luminescent (OEL) display shows you plenty of info. You can also choose between red and blue button illumination.

Fine-tune your sound
Sony's Advanced Sound Engine lets you tailor your sound to match your system and taste. You can set the timing of your speakers for your listening position, so you're always sitting in the sweet spot. Low- and high-pass filters let you block frequencies your speakers can't handle, helping them run more efficiently. Use the Rear Bass Enhancer to dial in more bottom end to fill out your sound, and tweak the overall tone with a robust, 7-band parametric equalizer.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Sony stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and this Sony, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

This digital media receiver will not play CDs. If you want to play CDs in your vehicle, we offer a wide selection of CD receivers.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod note:
If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver or its optional iPod adapter.

      Display Features

Detachable Fold-Down Face: The Sony DSX-S310BTX digital media receiver features a detachable fold-down face for theft prevention. Two face-fixing screws are supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired. The digital media receiver's face folds down to access the unit's USB port. The fold-down face requires 1.6875" of space to open. No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit.

Caution Alarm: If you turn the ignition switch to the Off position without detaching the front-panel, the caution alarm will sound for a few seconds. The alarm will only sound if the built-in amplifier is used.

OEL Display: The 4-line OEL (organic electroluminescent light) display makes it easy to read station & song information.

Image Display: The Sony DSX-S310BTX offers various display images to choose from. You can select between Movie, Spectrum Analyzer (1-3), Wall Paper (1-4), All (displays rotation of all images), or Off.

Auto Scroll: This feature allows long displayed items to scroll automatically across the display when the track is changed on a disc.

Dimmer: You can manually dim the display at night, if desired. You can operate the display dimmer automatically, when the vehicle's lights are turned on, or manually. If the dimmer is set to automatic, the orange/white wire in the power harness must be connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit in order to properly work.

Display Illumination/Clock Display: Pressing the Off button for 1 second will turn off audio output, but the clock display and button illumination remain on. This makes the clock display and face/button illumination "Keyed" instead of "Unit On" only. To turn the unit off completely, you must press the Off button for two seconds.

Selectable Button Illumination: The Sony DSX-S310BTX offers selectable blue or red key illumination to complement your vehicle's interior lighting.

Auto Off: When installing in a vehicle without an accessory power wire at the radio location, you can set the unit to turn off all lighting a set amount of time after you turn the power off. The Auto Off feature can be set to 30 seconds, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or No.

      Audio Section

True Fidelity Sound Construction: The Sony DSX-S310BTX FM/AM compact disc player features a newly developed sound processor for less distortion, an S-MOSFET IC for smooth signal transmission, and a large-sized capacitor for deep bass sound.

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Sony DSX-S310BTX utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

CEA2006 Compliant Amplifier: The power specifications for the Sony DSX-S310BTX are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the DSX-S310BTX are as follows:

      • Continuous Power Output: 17 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
      • Peak Power Output: 52 watts x 4-channels (208 total watts)

Three 4-Volt Preamp Outputs with Adjustable Crossovers: The Sony DSX-S310BTX is equipped with 4-volt Front, Rear, and Sub pre-amp outputs with selectable LPF/HPF (Low Pass Filter/High Pass Filter) functionality, giving you the ability to customize the sound output to your external amplifiers.

      • High-Pass Filter: The front and rear speaker outputs offer a selectable high-pass crossover frequency of 50Hz, 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, or Off.
      • Low Pass Filter: The subwoofer output is non-fading with a low pass filter with a selectable cut-off frequency of 50Hz, 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, or Off. You can also adjust the subwoofer preamp output's Phase (Normal/Reverse).

Sound Balance/Fader: The sound balance between the left and right speakers (Balance) and front and rear speakers (Fader) can be adjusted to your preference. You can also adjust the volume level (+/-10dB) of the subwoofer preamp output.

Advanced Sound Engine: Sony's Advanced Sound Engine creates an ideal in-car sound field with digital signal processing. Advanced Sound Engine contains the following features: EQ7, Listening Position, DM+ Advanced, Rear Bass Enhancer, and Dynamic Loudness.

      • EQ7 (Parametric Tune): You can select an equalizer curve from eight music types - Xplod, Vocal, Edge, Cruise, Space, Gravity, Custom, or Off (Flat). The Custom EQ7 mode allows you to make your own equalizer settings. You can adjust the level (+/-6dB) of seven different frequency bands - Band1 (40Hz or 63Hz), Band2 (100Hz or 160Hz), Band3 (250Hz or 400Hz), Band4 (630Hz or 1kHz), Band5 (1.6kHz or 2.5khz), Band6 (4.0kHz or 6.3khz), and Band7 (10.0kHz or 16.0kHz).
      • Listening Position (Time Alignment): This unit can change the localization of sound by delaying the sound output from each speaker to suit your position, and simulate a natural sound field with the feeling of being in the center of it wherever you sit in the car. You can choose from Front Right, Front Left, Front Center, Custom or Off. The Custom Mode lets you precisely calibrate your listening position distance from each speaker so that the sound delay reaches the listener more correctly. The distance is adjustable between 0.99-9.9'. You can also set the subwoofer distance to Near, Normal, or Far.
      • RBE (Rear Bass Enhancer): RBE enhances the bass sound by applying the low-pass filter setting to the rear speakers. This function allows the rear speakers to work as a subwoofer even if there is no subwoofer connected.
      • Dynamic Loudness: Dynamic Loudness refers to compensating for volume level and signal gain.
      • DM+ Advanced: DM+ Advanced improves digitally compressed sound by restoring high frequencies lost in the compression process (works only for USB).

Beep Tone: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.

HD Radio Ready: The DSX-S310BTX is compatible with Sony's optional XT-100HD add-on HD Tuner (158XT100HD, sold separately) through its UniLink Bus connection. HD Radio technology, where available, offers higher quality sound than conventional analog broadcasts and receives text data. HD Radio provides FM broadcasts that are equal to CD sound quality and AM broadcasts that are as good as analog FM stereo broadcasts. HD Radio also provides a variety of data, including station name, song title, artist name, album name, etc. Once connected, all AM and FM broadcasts are received by the XT-100HD. HD appears as an additional source, with five preset banks; HD1 (FM1), HD2 (FM2), HD3 (FM3), HD4 (AM1), and HD5 (AM2). In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 8 multicast programs (HD1 to HD8 and analog). There are also data programs for each program.

Note: Right now there are about 2,000 radio stations broadcasting using digital HD Radio technology in the U.S. To find HD Radio stations in your area, visit the HD Radio website (HDRadio.com).

Satellite Radio Ready: There are several options for connecting an optional satellite radio receiver to this head unit:

      • SIRIUS Satellite Radio: To receive SIRIUS Satellite Radio, you can connect the optional SCC1 SiriusConnect Vehicle Tuner and the optional SNYSC1 Sony interface module (package item number 700SIRSONY, sold separately).
      • XM Satellite: A portable XM satellite radio receiver can be connected to the head unit using the Sony XA-300 UniLink auxiliary input adapter (item number 158XA300, sold separately).

Note: A subscription is also required to receive satellite radio programming from SIRIUS or XM.

      USB/iPod Connectivity

Tune Tray: The Sony DSX-S310BTX digital media receiver features an integrated Tune Tray to securely store your iPod, Sony Walkman MP3 player, or other compatible USB (MSC/MTP) device neatly within the receiver, eliminating loose wires. It even includes a reminder alert, which ensures you don't leave your device behind. You can easily connect, charge, and control your digital music player with a USB 1-wire connection, located within the Tune Tray. This innovative feature displays metadata like song title, artist, & track number on your front display when your music is playing. Capacity of the tray: approximately 2.5625" (w) x 0.625" (h) x 4.625" (d); will fit iPod video, classic, nano, or touch. The DSX-S310BTX needs approximately 2.5" of open space in front of it for the Tune Tray to open properly.

Note: Do not leave your iPod or other USB device inside the Tune Tray in a parked vehicle, as malfunction may result. Do not place a cellular phone (iPhone) or a device with wireless communication functions in the Tune Tray, as it may not receive phone signals or communications may be terminated. Due to an increase in the vehicle's interior temperature, charging of the USB device battery, may not work, depending on the USB device specification.

Dual USB Ports: The Sony DSX-S310BTX features dual USB (type-A) ports. One is located inside the head unit's Tune Tray and the other is on the front of the unit's faceplate. Great use for my last generation Ipod

Written By SHF1, Dallas, TX on Monday, May 06, 2013

It has been a few years since I did my last install, but I am restoring my car and needed an upgrade in sound quality and the world of bluetooth. This radio met all of my expectations. I read the other reviews and experienced none of the problems. I installed a complete system upgrade (speakers, amp, sub) with this. I use an 8g Ipod nano 4 in the tune tray and bluetooth with a Iphone 4S . The sound settings and adjustments tie everything together. The tune tray is a brilliant idea and keeps the look clean. Best way to use the last generation Ipod. Needless to say, I am very satisfied.
      Pros:
Tune tray , RDS info, bluetooth and the sound settings. Everything you need
      Cons:
none, however sense me and zappin are overkill

Overall I like the stereo. As others have said, the controls take some getting used to, and unless you are on a smooth road, it can be a challenge to move the selector wheel.
      Pros:
Good overall, easy to install, nice feature to hide the ipod inside the unit.
      Cons:
Annoying selector wheel. Vague menu system. Annoying beep when you shut it off with the ipod in it. I know! I left it there on purpose!

This is one nice radio. I do many audio installs both small and large. For the price this packs a punch. I have a 4 channel amp running two sets of comps and one woofer. I can dial in the eq, time alignment, all while receiving phone calls etc. Highly recommended
      Pros:
Audio quality, easy to use, price
      Cons:
      None

      Sony DSX-S310BTX

Written By Anonymous, Westland, MI on Friday, April 12, 2013

I couldn't wait to get this radio. The coolness factors are great; iPod tray, the amp adjustment options & I luv the 4 line display. But defective right out of the box. I drive a stick shift so the Bluetooth feature is one of the main reasons I wanted this radio. Never ever worked from day one. I have many other intermittent problems with this radio. It loses connection with my iPod often. Uninstalling & reinstalling the iPod often doesn't re establish connection. I usually have to reset the radio all together then reset the EQ all over again once I'm able to stop the car. At times when turning the key for the 1st time of the day I get an awful static sound until I turn the radio off then back on. At times the display goes black but the unit keeps working. There's been times it stopped playing. The display shows all the track info but the track numbers aren't moving & there's no sound as if I have it paused. Usually when this happens there's nothing I can do to make it work again. Eventually it'll start working on it's own. I think Sony really had some great ideas for this radio but they really need to work on the bugs. I stretched far outside of my budget for this unit because it's packed with so many features I need and want. The sound quality is great. Many complain about how bright the display is but personally I like it. At night it sets a night time cruise mood in my car. However, all of these issues make me wanna 4get a warranty replacement & go with another brand.
      Pros:
iPod tray, Bluetooth, 4 line display, the design overall is nice & looks cool. I have no problem with the knob design as I always use the remote.
      Cons:
Way too many bugs and kinks. Especially with losing USB connection, often! I've been a fan of Sony & I hate to say but I wouldn't recommend this unit to anyone.

      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this unit for the features, love the ipod tray and no cords. Replaced the stock head unit in a 92 BMW 325IS. Hands free works flawless, crystal clear. Install was easy one hickup a call to support fixed in two minutes over the phone. Huge range of settings make twenty year old speakers sound as better than expected. Remote makes life on the road safe no need to look at the display load a playlist and go.
      Pros:
      Features and functions.
      Cons:
more color options for display would be nice.

      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far no complaints to really worry about. The main annoyance is when making a call the voice dial feature on my phone (the prompt itself) is SOOO loud compared to the actual call. Weird, because it wasn't like this when using my blueant hands free. I'd like to think it's the phone (Motorola Razr MAXX HD / Android), but only happens on this radio. The dial/knob/button/joystick is a little touchy as alot have mentioned, but like everyone else, I've learned to live with it because of all of the other features! I also drive a crew cab 2500hd and unless trying to use while hitting bumps, it's ok. The phone doesn't display mp3 music data on the screen, only Pandora. Sony states this may happen right in the manual, so it's anyones guess as to what makes that part work??? All in all, great radio, seamless hookup, bluetooth button not a waste to me because I start the truck outside sometimes, then turn on / off quickly using the radio to easily pair - works great, especially compared to alot of other bluetooth devices I've had over the years! ......now just need a subwoofer.... I'm open to donations or bartering :-)

      Quality problems

Written By JohnRD, Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, December 19, 2012
      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This seemed like the perfect solution for my needs: I don't use CDs anymore, I want Bluetooth connectivity, and I wanted an external plugin for USB devices. I've owned this since July 2012.

Overall, given the quality problems I've had, I wouldn't recommend this unless I could get a pain-free one year warranty. A 60-day warranty is not sufficient at all.

Cons: - USB inner connectivity became intermittent around day 75 of ownership (outside of warranty!) and now doesn't work at all. DEAL KILLER. As a user below pointed out, the USD devices show as "Not Supported" or "No Device". - Bluetooth connectivity does NOT have high quality sound during streaming from my iPhone...this might be my iPhone 5 but I don't get the same loss of quality when I stream from this iPhone to a Jambox - Horrible knob design and functionality. This unit utilizes a sort of joystick type of control for song navigation and it's very finicky and hard to direct. After five months I still have a lot of trouble navigating menus - Horrible button layout. Wow. I thought that whatever the navigation scheme was via buttons and the joystick, I'd be able to live with it because the other hardware features were so strong. Alas, the buttons are not intuitive and the aforementioned joystick control makes the user experience typically confusing. Why is it that car stereo manufacturers can't spend money on industrial design to create something easy to use.
      Pros:
      - incredibly designed, hidden tray for iPods and other USB devices - good sound - a wide variety of input flexibility - fairly easy connection to Bluetooth devices - easy installation
      Cons:
I really wanted to like this unit and on paper it seemed too good to be true. It is. This unit is going in the right direction, but it falls short in key areas of quality and design.

      great radio

Written By basshead813, al on Monday, October 08, 2012

i decided to pick up this radio to replace my alpine cda-9851 that 7 years old. what made me pick this head unit is my friend has this one in his show truck that has a big high end system and i saw this nice 30 minute review on YouTube . sony has got allot better the sony that came with my car was garbage.i like it has a tune trey so i can have my iPod inside and have my iPhone or a friends iPod on the front usb at the same time. the Bluetooth is great the quality of the call is great and the mic that comes with the radio is good other cool features about the Bluetooth is that when i have my phone connected it show how many bars of signal i have and the battery you can do Bluetooth audio when you get a call it pauses your music unless your listening to am/fm or Sirius and shows the number and if the name of the person if you have there number saved. if you are using a iPod and wanna search for instance a artist you can push the knob to the right and search them by the first letter if you have a iPod or iPhone connected on front usb and have a passenger that wants to control it from the iPod or iPhone it's self instead of from the radio. you can control Pandora from the iPhone via front usb or android and blackberry via Bluetooth and thumbs up or thumbs down or skip. the down falls is the sense me program is only available for windows :( does not have built in hd radio it's additional $100 for it and the presets is in the search button instead of preset buttons on the radio

Love the Radio, Hate the USB Function

Written By Tim Conmy, Buffalo, NY on Friday, September 07, 2012
Installed in a 2007 Jeep Liberty
      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

All though difficult to use, the radio works fine and the sound quality is good. The USB function is terrible. Most of the time USD devices show as "Not Supported" or "No Device". This happens with both the front USB port and the internal tray; and with every USB Device I try. Sometimes I can get it to work by opening and closing the front panel or by removing and reinstalling the device. Often nothing works. What's so hard about engineering a USB port that works?
      Pros:
      Sound quality and features.
      Cons:
      Almost useless USB function.

      Excellent design, albeit with flaws

Written By Kelly, Vancouver, BC on Tuesday, August 14, 2012
      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, let me preface my review by letting you know that yes, I would recommend the Sony.

I was pretty leery about ordering another Sony audio product, as I've had a couple of car audio lemons from them in the past; when it comes to TVs and game consoles, Sony is tops although their audio has left a lot to be desired in the past.

      Not so with the DSX-S310BTX.

When searching Crutchfield's decks, I was adamant that I wanted a.) a rear USB port for iPod b.) a front USB to charge my phone and c.) full bluetooth compatibility, and I was shocked at what little selection manufacturers offered. In my humble opinion, the complaints about lack of CD stacker control are ridiculous- it's 2012. who listens to CDs anymore!?! While we're at it, what about adding an 8-track input? Anyways, as far as the actual deck goes, the design is ingenious. Having the iPod actually in the deck is a fantastic idea, and I was surprised that the other guys haven't copied it, seeing as most people I know haven't listened to a CD in at least 5 years. In addition to the iPod 'cubby', I can charge my phone using the front USB port and connect to the deck via A2DP/AVRCP- everything I was looking for.

      Pros:
      - intuitive iPod storage design (no CD- yeah!!) - sound/call quality - iPod AND Android control - solid feel - intuitive sound customization - wiring harness - Crutchfield support
      Cons:
      - price/value - dubious Sony audio quality - display (lack of customization, brightness adjustment, legibility) - finicky faceplate - install guide doesn't give any help on taking apart the console/dash

      Sony DSX-S310BTX

It integrated well with my factory amp and sub and sounds great. I use a flash drive to listen to music. I'm used to head units that allow me to plug in a flash drive and forget about it. Sony forces me to plug the drive in after starting the car and then I can't leave the usb in a the parked car or "malfunction will result". If I get the sequence wrong or accidentally push the wrong button, it will refuse to recognize whatever I have plugged into it. Had I know about this issue, I would have had second thoughts about buying this unit.
      Pros:
      Great Sound
      Cons:
      Not easy to use

Got this unit and installed it in my Honda S2000, along with the ASWC integration unit to maintain my console controls. I love the look of the unit and how I don't need to be selective in the cds I bring along...just scroll through the menu and select my playlist and I'm good to go! Call quality using the unit is really good, too. My main complaint, though, is that the menu/scrolling system is a bit clunky to use, it's a little easier to use the supplied remote, but using the knob takes a bit of practice. I guess I need to give myself time to acquaint myself to the controls/menus, but other than that, I am really happy with my purchase!
      Pros:
Sleek look, great sound quality, exterior component integration, bluetooth connectivity, wired mic for better voice output on calls
      Cons:
Menu system takes time to get used to.

Nice unit for the money but it takes a while to get used to the menu system. Using the main knob for almost everything takes practice. Bluetooth set up was as easy as anyone could ask for. Bluetooth connectivity to our Droid phone allows us to play music, Pandora, and take calls. The iPod tray that is inside the unit is a great way to attach and hide your iPod and works great. This was for my son's car but I may get one for mine.
      Pros:
Price, design(for the most part) and features. The sound quality is GREAT and we still have the factory speakers in!
      Cons:
Takes a while to get used to the complex menu system using the main knob.

      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great unit overall, and don't regret my purchase at all. I installed it (using the detailed instructions included) two weeks ago into my '01 Silverado Z-71 - very pleased. I'd considered Alpine and Kenwood also, and I've always been happy with my Alpines in the past. What sold me here was the internal iPod storage, ability to stream music, and overall bluetooth/handsfree capabilities. There are units out there with more bells and whistles, but you don't miss anything with this unit, really. Sound quality is unsurprisingly good, but it should be (MB Quarts with Alpine power). Bottom line is you won't regret your purchase.
      Pros:
-Bluetooth performance with my iPhone4 is flawless for my iTunes; flawless also with handsfree pairing and handling phone calls. -Mic clarity excellent, as is Sirius antennae reception. -No power issues whatsoever - to address some concerns I read prior to purchase; likely these folks had compatibility issues stemming from the vehicle itself.....just speculating. -Build quality seems top rate, but time will tell the true story.
      Cons:
-Can't control Pandora via bluetooth with DSX if you've an iPhone; have to plug into front USB port. -Only blue and red are your wallpaper color options...but, contrary to other comments I've read, I've no issue with the brightness of either color. -Why is the bluetooth button so large?! -It's not as intuitive as one might hope regarding your menu options. -Menu/volume knob is difficult to "center push" when accessing menu options.....no, it really is!

      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit is really cool. The thing is built well and feels sturdy. The sound is fantastic and it has no issues with my phone on any level. I have never actually owned a Sony head unit before and I must say I am impressed! The thin is a little hard to get used to but I have been using the factory setup for years so that could be some of the issues facing me. I had no issues installing this thing and the face folds down with no issues to getting the tune tray to open. I have found that I use a 32 gig "built" for car audio memory stick in the front usb more than anything. This pushes my Pioneer speakers to some very nice heights! The Pandora for android has worked flawlessly and the BT functions for the phone work like a champ. Love the fact that with Pandora or just streaming music from my phones player that the GPS lady breaks into the music to give me directions (I use the GPS function on my phone)! So when I travel I just use my phone to play music which works great as my phone has 32 gig of music stored on it! Overall I would recomend this unit to anyone and everyone looking for a great bump in sound quality and convience at the cost of good bump!
      Pros:
Sound is great and the BT is perfect! It also looks really cool :)
      Cons:
The only con for me is the knob and the "burried" features.

Installed in a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette
      Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Recently bought this product for my c5 corvette and the major problem i have with it is that the internal ipod USB connection is really hard to get it linked. Sometimes its easy when you first start the car, but when you go somewhere for a quick stop or if your car stalls and you cut it right back on, it doesn't recognize the ipod, i have an iTouch and it gets it to charge, but it doesn't bring any sound. When you do get that connection its very easy to surf through the ipod playlists and songs and fast too. I've had stereos where it takes a while for ipod songs to load through, this ones is relatively fast. Other then that i haven't had much of a chance to install the radio properly since i was sent the wrong cable for the factory bypass system i ordered and sometimes when you start the car, the faceplate doesn't come on right away, so you have to flip the faceplate down, then up a few times until it lights up.
      Pros:
bluetooth connection works great and when you can get an ipod connection, very quick and easy to surf through the menu and playlists
      Cons:
Inside USB connection hard to stay connected and face plate doesn't always come on when starting the car
