Marine Receiver: The Clarion M475 Marine CD receiver has been
engineered and tested for use in the harsh marine
environment. The M475 meets ASTM B117 and ASTM D4329 guidelines ensuring the
receiver's resistant to salt, fog and UV exposure. The unit features a sealed
stainless steel chassis and drip shield over the wire connections to keep water from dripping onto the internal circuits
and wire connections.
The receiver also features a HumiSeal coated PCB to protect against corrosion.
This means the main circuit boards features a silicone coating to help resist
the effects of humidity.
Shooting Star DCP Design:
In this design, all the frequently used
controls are as close as possible to the driver for ease of operation. The
organizing of the controls on the left side of the detachable control panel
allows for a high visibility, easy to read single line display. This enables you
to see station or track information quickly and easily with minimal distraction
from the road. Additionally, a precision rotary volume control knob is centrally
located for optimum control from either the driver's or passenger side seat.
CEA-2006 Compliant Amplifier:
The Clarion M475 amplifier section is rated at 21 Watts RMS x 4 channels in 4
ohms at 1% THD+N with a 91 dBA signal-to-noise ratio.
MP3/WMA Playback: The unit can
play MP3 and WMA files recorded onto CD-R and CD-RW discs using ISO9660 Level 1
or 2, Joliet, or Romeo formats. The player can recognize up to 8 hierarchical
levels, up to 255 files per folder, and up to 510 total files. Bit rates for MP3
are 8-320 kbps, plus VBR (Variable Bit Rates). Bit rates for WMA are 48-192
kbps. This unit is compatible with, and will display MP3 and WMA ID3 tags.
Z-Enhancer: The Z-Enhancer
function features three types of sound tone effects stored in memory. You can
choose from the following.
- B-Boost: Bass frequencies
are emphasized from -3dB to +3dB
- Impact: Bass and Treble
frequencies are emphasized from -3dB to +3db
- Excite: Bass and Treble
frequencies emphasized from -3dB to +3dB and Mid frequencies de-emphasized
Note: When the
Z-Enhancer feature is on, the bass and treble controls cannot be
Bass and Treble: When not using
the Z-Enhancer you can adjust the Bass (60Hz) and Treble (10kHz) independently
from -7 to +7 (+/-14 dB).
Magna Bass EX (Extend): The
Magna Bass EX feature provides an extra boost of bass when activated. Unlike
conventional loudness features which boost the low frequency range at around
100Hz, the Magna Bass EX boosts the low- and center-range frequencies of about
50Hz. By focusing on the lower frequencies, the added bass impact won't distort
or muffle the high frequencies.
3 Sets of 2V Preouts: The M475 features
front, rear and subwoofer preamp outputs on a set of pigtails attached to the
rear chassis. The subwoofer output is non-fading and
its output level can be adjusted from -6 to +6.
Amp Canceller: If you choose to
connect the receiver to external amplifiers, you can turn off the built-in
amplifier for better sound quality.
Auto Store: Auto Store is a
function for automatically storing up to 6 stations in sequential order in the
provided preset bands. The receiver features 3 FM bands and 1 AM band; giving
you a total of 18 FM bands and 6 AM bands.
Preset Scan: Preset Scan plays
the stations stored in the preset memory momentarily. This function is useful
when searching or a desired station in memory.
Station Recall (ISR): You
can store one radio station in Instant Station Recall (ISR) memory and recall it
from any mode (except Power Off). Once the ISR station has been recalled, you
cannot tune to another station without first disengaging the ISR function. You
can, however, switch to another source.
Front Auxiliary: The CD player
feature a 3.5mm stereo minijack input on the front panel to enable you to
connect an external portable audio source such as an MP3 player. You can adjust
the input sensitivity level of the AUX input from Low, Mid to High to match the
output level of your portable audio device. The minijack input features a rubber
cover when not in use to protect against corosion.
Cell Phone Interrupt: If you
connect this unit to your vehicle's cellular phone with a separately sold
hands-free kit supporting AUX input, you can either listen to your telephone
calls on your car speakers or have your car's audio system automatically muted
when a phone call comes in.
Dimmer Control: The unit features a Dimmer
Control which allows you to select either "On" or "Off" to the dim the radio's

sticking out of the CD slot for 15 seconds, the unit automatically reloads the
CD to protect if from damage.
Backup Eject: The Backup Eject
feature allows you to eject a disc even if the power to the unit is turned off.
Mounting: You can install the
unit within 30-degrees of horizontal. When ISO-DIN mounting, you will need to
use your vehicle radio's original factory ISO screws.
