You put some good bass in your car, but now your speakers just aren't hanging with your subs. Kicker designed their KS Series speakers to deliver the performance you need to bring that "live music" experience to your ride.

The KS68 6"x8" 2-way speakers use heavy-duty polypropylene cones supported by Santoprene rubber surrounds. These speakers can handle high-level playback without straining, especially when they're powered by an outboard amplifier. Each speaker sports a titanium 3/4" dome tweeter that broadcasts plenty of high-frequency sparkle, so you'll hear all the sonic details that make your tunes exciting.

These speakers will fit in both 5"x7" and 6"x8" speakers. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

    Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for power and control. Polypropylene woofers are also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

    Santoprene Surrounds: The woofer surrounds are made of Santoprene rubber to allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. Santoprene is durable and resists moisture for a long life.

    3/4" Titanium Dome Tweeters: The 3/4" titanium dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.

    No Grilles: The KS68s do not include grilles. They are designed as a replacement for OEM speakers, utilizing the factory grille.

    Mounting Options: Each speaker features six mounting tabs for 6x8" and 5x7" speaker opening applications.

    Kicker KS68

    Just finished installing new kicker KS68 from Crutchfield in my 2004 Explorer. I put the ks68 kickers in the front doors and installed kenwood KFC-C6894PS in the rear doors. I was looking to match the base that came out of the stock speakers in the Explorer. Believe you me, they are awesome!!!!!! I have a Clarion head unit. No aftermarket amp, these speakers really rock I'm telling you. There is plenty of base and the highs and the meds are exactly what I was looking for. The install was so easy came with stock wiring harness no cutting no soldering No mass. Door panels a breeze to get off, couldn't believe it. If you're looking for a replacement speakers to go inplace of the old crappy stock ones this is the only choice for the 2004 Ford Explorer ,these are the ones.

    Learned how to remove the door panels of a 2004 Ford Explorer
    Cons:
    Couldn't afford to pay somebody else to install.

    Replaced my stock Ford Ranger speakers with these and WOW what a difference paired with the baffles that I cut the bottoms out of they are crisp, clear, and pack a bass punch for a 6x8.

    Ditch those factory speakers and put in a pair of these! I placed these as the rear pair, along with DS68.2 up front, in my 05 Freestyle, and the difference was amazing! These things offer enough thump to make it hard to justify adding a sub and amp unless you really want the panels to shake loose!

    I'm very happy with these speakers in my 2009 F150 XLT Super Crew Cab with Sync. I wanted a good choice for a speaker replacement on factory headunit power, and after installing the Infinity Reference 8602 speakers and not being happy, I installed these instead. Crutchfield's customer service is second to none, and the return was made very easy. All of the installation instructions were very detailed, and they made installation easy! These speakers have very good bass response for factory power, and they sound much better than the stock Ford speakers.
    Pros:
    Good Low, Mid, and High response!
    Cons:
    Doesn't come with any gasket type material to improve the seal between the speaker and the door.

    These speakers are so go, I now know how bad the radio station is that I listen to! Crisp sound with great separation of the highes and lows. Vocals are rich and the truck is vibrating from the bass. Worth every penny, which was $250 less than going to BestBuy to purchase and have them install.

    Paired these speakers (front doors) with JBL GT6-69's (rear deck) and a JVC KW-R500 head unit. Sound is great....and even has a fair amount of bass. Easy install and the instructions supplied by Crutchfield could not have been better.

    Kicker is a great company, so I was surprised when I got a bad speaker. After using Kicker parts for about 10 years, this is the first defective part I've received. All it dies once installed is buzz! No fault of Crutchfield, but I am uninstalling as we speak to return.

    I replaced all 4 of my speakers in my f150 and man what a difference! I can actually make out the music over the roar of my tires and exhaust going down the interstate. The low end bass was about the same as factory but I don't listen to that boom boom music so not a big deal to me. Sound quality is second to none as is the service from Crutchfield. Everything I needed was in the box no more splicing wires for me. Crutchfield will be the only place I shop for any of my truck electronics in the future!

    Sound quality at high volume levels, ease of install
    Cons:
    noise camplant from the neighbors the night I put them in.

    First off let me say that Ford puts a big pile of garbage behind the doors to produce a "sound" and that's it, nothing more. So generally, anything would be an improvement. I had a pair of Pioneers that I tried putting in there at first, but I did notice a significant amount of bass loss. So I decided to purchase these, and I haven't looked back. With Crutchfield's wiring harness and instructions, installation took a little over 30 minutes and the bass actually IMPROVED, alot. I would reccomend these speakers to anyone, but they are a must have in the new Mustang's. Thanks Crutchfield, and thanks Kicker for creating such an excellent product.

    The speakers do need to be broken in, but play them at a moderate level for about a week or so and you really start to appreciate them. Some people have complained that they need to "warm up" in cold weather to sound good. I haven't experienced this problem and it's been 20 below almost everyday since installation.

    Kicker in a SN95 Mustang

    I originally purchased these at a retail store b/c I got them on sale. Let me tell you, these were a significant improvement over the stock speakers. I disassembled the stock speaker to see what materials was used, the voice coil was held by a paper cylinder; most the speaker was made from paper except the surround was made from fabic (good job here ford.) For those debating on getting a set of these or some other brand, I'd say go for these. They sound really nice and most of all put out more bass then the original speakers that are in your car. I mostly jam to hardcore, trance, dubstep, rock, country, R&B-Rap and a little of alternative. These speakers can handle the abuse at loud volume. Bass/Mids/Highs are exceptional.
    Pros:
    Best sound I've ever heard from a speaker. Purchase these, you won't regret it at all!
    Cons:
    2½ hours of installation which required removal of the door panels & wire crimping. When the interior is cold, they will not throw out much bass until the car has warmed. Mainly because of the Santoprene surround.

    great speakers. got them to replace one pair of stock speakers in my '95 thunder bird couldnt be happier. excellent sound quality and they can pack a punch. i have a pioneer head unit running them and they are loud enough to make my music have a full balanced sound, even with my 2-12inch kicker subs in the trunk. great buy as far as fairly cheap speakers.

    Purchased these to replace the stock sets in the truck...Was pretty unhappy with the quality of the speakers. I actually liked the sound of the stock speakers better. The vocals were a little better with the Kicker's but overall sound was better from the stock Ford speakers, I thought. I'm using a Sony h.u. Just ordered some Boston Acoustics S85's with an Alpine amp so hopefully thats much better.

    I picked up 2 sets of these speakers for my truck, a 2000 Ford Ranger regular cab. The front set installed without a hitch, and sound absolutely wonderful. So much more crisp than OEM. The rears however, don't exactly fit the rear speaker grilles. The little mounting tabs on the centerline don't really fit within the stock speaker grille, and the plastic surround that sits atop the Kicker speaker interferes with mounting it to the grille as well. Modification to either the grille or speaker seems necessary. I haven't been able to install the rears as of yet, I may try to shave of some of the speaker grille.

    Concert in your car!

    I purchased these speakers on the recommendation of my son-in-law to improve
    the sound quality in my 2008 Ford Edge. And WOW!! While still using the factory
    head unit, the transformation has gone from muted and subdued music to an open
    soundstage with clarity that I would not have thought possible; even at low volume
    levels. Listening to the new found detail in my music is simply amazing!

    I like listening to live recordings of concerts from Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis and
    other progressive rock bands, and the sound experience from these speakers is
    like being there; sitting in the sweet spot of the venue. Then take studio recordings
    from Country Rock Bands like Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn or Lady Antebellum and
    the music just opens up to a near concert like experience. You have got to listen to
    Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland) with these speakers; they will turn your car into an
    "Incredible Machine"!

    Before pulling the trigger on these (sorry to the PC crowd), I considered Pioneer,
    Kenwood, Rockford Fosgate and Alpine speakers. While all are highly regarded,
    these Kicker KS68's just simply kick A.

    Finally, I cannot say enough be said about the service from Crutchfield, these folks
    are the best to do business with.

    Bought these speakers as a replacement for the factory rear speakers in a
    05 mercury sable sedan. they provided excellent bass, mids and highs over the
    factory speakers. Install was easy with the Master Sheets. I replaced the factory
    head unit with a JVC KW-XR 610 (double-din) and the only problem was that
    Crutchfield didn't sell the metra double din kit for 04-05 mercury sables with
    electronic controls( it is available #99-5719 Just google it.)

    Decent upgrade

    Got 4 of these to replace the factory speakers in my 2010 Mustang. The sound is an
    upgrade from the factory speakers (cleaner highs and a little more oomph) but these
    are not a "top of the line" series. If you realy want to upgrade the sound, more money will
    need ot be spent. But I am glad I did this upgrade.
