Features
Overview: The LG NB2420A Sound Bar Audio System provides virtual 3D
surround sound from a single speaker. It make a great addition to your table-top
or wall-mounted flat-panel television. The LG NB2420A provides both analog and
digital audio connections, along with a USB port and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
The system includes an IR remote for wireless control.
3D Sound Optimizer: The LG NB2420A Sound Bar Audio System
creates a virtual 3D surround sound experience from a single speaker with a
wider soundstage and more immersive cinematic sound that will
completely envelop you and bring your audio/video content to life.
160-Watts Amplifier: The LG NB2420A employs an integrated
160-watt
amplifier for dynamic sound performance. The amplifier is rated at 80-watts x
2-channel (at 1kHz, into 4-ohms, with 10% THD).
Two-Way Speaker System: The LG NB2420A Sound Bar features a
two-way speaker system with two silk dome tweeters and two pair of parabolar
woofers.
- Silk Dome Tweeter: The NB2420A Sound Bar Audio System utilizes
LG's silk dome speaker technology for clearer sound with less distortion,
and an overall better sound experience. The sound bar houses a 1" silk dome
tweeter.
- Dual Woofers: The Sound Bar is fitted with four 2.5" parabolar
cone woofers for excellent midrange performance.
Note: The sound bar does not feature a grille. All drivers are
exposed.
Mounting Options: The LG Sound Bar can be either be
table-top or wall mounted. The LG Sound Bar can simply be placed on a table,
shelf, or stand thanks to its integrated rubber feet. The supplied wall-mount bracket gives you the option
of mounting the sound bar on your wall.
Magnetic Shielding: The LG Sound Bar is magnetically shielded for safe
placement next to older CRT television.
Controls
Touch-Sensitive Controls: The LG Sound Bar features touch-sensitive
buttons on the front-panel. Functions include; Power On/Off, Volume Up/Down,
Play/Pause, Stop, Function (source).
Remote Control: The LG NB2420A includes an IR remote control for
wireless operation of the Sound Bar System. The remote is pre-programmed to
control basic functions (Power On/Off, Volume Up/Down, AV Input, Channel
Up/Down, & Mute) of select LG flat-panel TVS, and can be programmed to
control other manufacture televisions ( Zenith, GoldStar, Samsung, Sony,
Hitachi).
Surround Modes: The LG Sound Bar System has a number of preset surround
modes to choose from, based on your listening preference and the source content.
- Natural: Enjoy comfortable and natural sound.
- Bypass: Enjoy the sound without equalizer effect.
- Bass: Reinforces the bass, treble, and surround sound effect.
- Clear Voice: Makes voices and dialog sound clearer; recommended
for Dolby Digital/DTS sources.
- Game: Enjoy more virtual sound while playing video games.
- Upscaler: Enhances the sound of compressed MP3/WMA music files;
this mode is only available for 2ch sources.
- Night: Useful when watching movies at low volume lat at night.
- Loudness: Improves the bass and treble sound.
A/V Sync (Audio Delay): When receiving audio signal from your TV,
sound and images may not be matched. In this case, the AV Sync function lets you
adjust the audio delay time between 0 and 300m/sec.
Dolby DRC (Dynamic Range Control): The Sound Bar provides dynamic
range compression for Dolby Digital content to make the sound clearer when the
volume is at a low level.
Mute: The Sound Bar offers a mute function on the remote control to
lower the volume to zero immediately.
Sleep Timer: The LG NB2420A Sound Bar provides a sleep timer function
that will automatically turn-off the unit after 10 to 180 minutes.
Automatic Power On/Off (TV Link): This function automatically turns
on/off the Sound Bar when you turn on/off your external device (TV, Sat/cable
box, Blu-ray/DVD player, etc.) connected via an optical digital cable.
Connections
Digital Audio Inputs: The LG NB2420A Sound Bar Audio System is fitted
with two optical (toslink) digital audio inputs in order to connect multiple
digital audio devices; such as your TV and Blu-ray player. The two optical
digital inputs support LPCM, Dolby Digital, DTS audio formats.
Analog Audio Input: The LG NB2420A is equipped with an analog minijack
(3.5mm) audio input for connecting your flat-panel TV (that lacks a digital
output), or other analog only audio device.
Bluetooth Connectivity: Built-in Bluetooth technology lets you
wirelessly stream audio from your Bluetooth enabled smartphone, tablet, digital audio player,
or other BT device to the LG NB2420A. The LG Sound Bar is Bluetooth A2DP
(advanced Audio Distribution Profile) compliant; meaning it allows you to stream
music from your Bluetooth enabled device, but not control it. You will still
control playback of your music from your Bluetooth audio device. Your Bluetooth
enabled device must be paired with the NB2420A before operation. Only one device
can be paired with this system (it does not support multi-pairing).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology,
some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or
may not support all features when used with LG NB2420A.
USB Port: The LG Sound Bar features a side-panel USB (type-A) port for
connecting a USB mass storage class device; such as a USB thumbdrive, digital
audio player, or smartphone. The Sound Bar supports playback of MP3/WMA files
stored on a compatible USB memory device. The unit provides basic playback
functions (Play/Pause, Stop, Fast Forward/Rewind, Skip Track/Folder, & Repeat/Random)
over your MP3/WMA music files. The USB port (5V/500mA) will also charge the
battery of your USB device.

Note: The unit's USB port cannot recognize external HDDs, Card
readers, USB hubs, or computers.
