Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I hooked up my system originally with the cable that came in an amp install kit, and whenever I started my engine, there was alternator noise in the system. When I upgraded from my factory head unit to the DNX9140, I decided that I was going to run six channels (excluding center channel), and I did not want a huge bundle of cables everywhere, so I upgraded to this cable because of others recommendations. I am very impressed with the cables. Not only is my alternator noise gone with all the wires running in generally the same locations, but the breakout is very generous for hooking up to multiple amps if the need arises.

The cable is also not excessively thick thanks to the twisting and lack of unnecessary shielding, so it will fit in tight spots in vehicles. The only problematic piece is I wish they would have included some type of labels to distinguish RCA outputs, as it is not easy to remember especially with some of the colors being somewhat similar.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed the Kenwood DNX8120 which has so many inputs and outputs that it would have been a nightmare to run all that cabling. I purchased two of these compact Streetwires 6-channel cables for 5.1 sound, as well as for future expansion and they cut down on cable clutter big time over running 6 pairs of regular cables. The RCA plugs are of a really high quality and they are fairly shallow so that helps when installing your amps in tight spaces.

Unlike some cheap cables I had before, I get absolutely no alternator noise with these when the engine is running and this is without using any noise filters of any kind. I have some hiss at high volumes, but I think it's another component causing this. Make sure to write down what colors you used for what channel to keep from mixing things up as it's a pain to go back behind the head unit if you forget how you plugged stuff in at the front.

I'm trying to think of any downsides, but there really aren't any. I can't recommend these enough.
