Each Comp sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone with 360-degree back bracing for hard-hitting lows without distortion. The ribbed foam surround offers long excursion and keeps the cone on target, while double stitching ensures your investment won't come apart at the seams. A tough steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Kicker's 10C124 12" subwoofer handles up to 150 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, and its 4-ohm impedance makes it compatible with just about every amplifier on the market. Subwoofer Features

Polypropylene Cone: The Kicker Comp subwoofer's super-rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone features 360-degree back bracing to completely eliminate flex and distortion.

Ribbed Foam Surround: The optimized ribbed foam surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives. This prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.

Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features durable Spiralead tinsel leads, which are woven into the woofer's progressive-roll polycotton spider, for added strength and reliability.

Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features a resilient, steel basket with coil-cooling perimeter venting and a vented pole piece for heat dissipation, so the high-temperature voice coil stays cool.

Speaker Terminals: The spring-loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for speaker wire up to 10-gauge. Single banana plugs and pin connectors will also fit.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation.

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications as well.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequency between 20 to 30 Hz.

Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.25 cu/ft
SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 3.5 cu/ft

Recommended Vented Box Volume: A vented enclosure design is the choice for loud, high-performance bass for SPL contests.

Compact: 1.75 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.0" in depth
SQ: 2.25 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.375" in depth

Note: The SQ enclosures generates a flatter response curve and extends sub-bass response.

Infinite Baffle Mounting: The Kicker Comp subwoofer does not require a sealed or vented enclosure for good bass performance. The Comp subwoofer is designed to also be used as a free-air driver. The infinite baffle mounting method effectively utilizes the rear deck and trunk space of most sedan type vehicles.

Bought this for my son's Hyundai Tucson upon recommendation of the Crutchfield sales rep. WOW! There is only one and it fills the vehicle with bass. Hooked it up to a Kenwood stereo and amp ( also Crutchfields recommendation ) I made my own box after doing some research about the optimal size. ( found on Crutchfields website ) No regrets!

Good sub. Purchased for first time sub owner(not myself). Purchased open box with open box b amp and both were a pretty good deal. Hits hard, hits pretty clear, even in a box not designed for it with an amp that was bottom line as well. (Blau bottom line bridged). I hooked it up to a clearer amp and was about the same. Again this is not a DD sub. It's not a Focal. But you aren't paying several hundred for it either. For added bass in the trunk on a standard system, pretty good deal.

Used two of these bad boys in a ported box for over a year and a half trouble free, they will give you SERIOUS bass, i fed them with an Alpine MRP-M500 and they rattled everything, some tracks felt like a punch to the ribcage. however if you are looking for accurate high quality sound these are not for you. if you want to show off how loud your system is without spend serious cash these are the way to go.

The way buying a sub-woofer should be!

I saw these subs on here for this price and after reading all the positive reviews I had to pick some up. I went ahead and bought four of them, I'm only using two in my car right now but they sound GREAT. Honestly they're the best speakers in my system and I can't believe that people could possibly ever need more than 150 rms. These suckers shake my car and produce some insane bass especially if you have more than one. I gave the other two I had to a buddy of mine and he's loving them too. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS DEAL, a subwoofer like this costing this much is crazy and it can't last that long.

Pros:

Great sound, Realistic cost (Company probably has low profit margin for these speakers) Look cool, and never stop.

Cons:

I think these subs have a little trouble hitting extremely low frequencies and making them stand out as much as the other notes in the song, but it's an extremely low frequency and I've never noticed in in actual music.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased two of the Kicker Comp 12 4 ohm speakers about a month ago and installed them into a sealed enclosure measuring 1.26 cubic feet per speaker. I am powering them with a Polk Audio PA880 mono amp and they sound awesome. It's pushing 500rms to the two bridged Kickers and I have the lpf set at 90hz. I was able to purchase the Kickers at a discount which made the deal that much sweeter. Crutchfield kept me up to date from purchase to delivery. And shipping was ultra quick. I would definitely recommend this company and this product. For an entry level speaker they can handle the power and pack a solid punch.

I went from 2 12" Pioneer Subwoofers to the Kicker 10C124 Competition Subwoofer, and let me tell you...what a difference! Granted I have preferred using Pioneer brand stereo products because I was always told that Pioneer is a quality brand, but I decided to take a risk and purchase 2 12" Kicker Competiton Subwoofers and I am glad I took the risk. I noticed that these subwoofers definitely hit not only harder, but they give a deeper tone to lower bass notes, and have a better capability to hit higher bass notes as well. For the price that you pay for these subwoofers, you are definitely getting a great deal out of these subwoofers. I plan on using more Kicker brand stereo products in the future. I also plan on using crutchfield.com for all of my audio equipment needs, by far crutchfield.com has the best quality assurance and free shipping.

I've always liked the sound of Kicker's subwoofers. I replaced a perfectly good subwoofer simply because I knew that it wasn't a Kicker, and that I was not experiencing the tight, accurate ambiance of a subwoofer that really hits hard in a sealed box! With Kicker--no more compromises! In my opinion, Kicker is the top-of-the-line subwoofer !!

Pros:

The appearance, the construction, the compatibility with various sizes of sealed boxes, all the way from 1.25 cubic feet to 3.5 cubic feet, and the incredible sound quality and hard-hitting performance !
