Features
Woven Carbon Fiber Woofer Cones: The Blaupunkt Velocity series of speakers uses woven carbon fiber cones, which deliver sonic accuracy because of their rigidity. The woofers feature butyl rubber surrounds for increased durability.
Silk Tweeters: The Vx662s have 1" silk dome tweeters for bright, accurate highs. The tweeters are recessed in their mounting cups for protection.
3" Voice Coils: The Velocity Vx662 speakers are equipped with 3" voice coils. Because the surface area of the voice coil former is nearly 3 times that of a 1" voice coil, heat dissipation is considerably increased, and power handling is significantly higher.
Cast Aluminum Baskets: The speakers feature cast aluminum baskets which maintain a rigid alignment for superior sound and reliability. The baskets have a "Mystic Blue" plating for a "subdued cool" look.
Spring-loaded Terminal Posts: The speakers are equipped with gold-plated, spring-loaded terminal posts that can handle up to 12-gauge speaker wire or pin connectors. Spade lugs, and dual or single banana plugs cannot be used.
Rubber Magnet Cap: The speakers have a rubber cap over the 11.3 ounce Barium Ferrite magnets to protect the double chrome plating. This rubber cap is removable, if desired, to help the speaker fit in tight mounting installations.
