6.5" Widescreen Monitor: The
AVD-W6200 features a 6.5" Widescreen 16:9 TFT Active Matrix LCD Color
Display. It has an anti-glare and low-reflection coating for best visibility.
The screen has a total of 336,960 pixels (1,440 pixels x 234 pixels), and is
compatible with NTSC sources. The monitor features a small 1.375" diameter
speaker on the back panel with a front-panel volume control. You can also turn
on/off the speaker in the setup menu.
Adjustable Mounting Arm: The
monitor can be mounted on the supplied adjustable mounting arm, giving you added
flexibility in positioning the monitor. The mounting arm attaches to a
dual-shaft adjustable headrest. Since the width between headrest shafts varies
for different vehicles, the shaft guides on the mounting arm can be adjusted
between 4.75" to 11.625" for best fit. Once the monitor is mounted to
the arm, you can tilt and swivel the monitor for best viewing angle.
Hide-Away Unit: This monitor
has a small hide-away unit containing the system's inputs and outputs, power
connections (harness supplied), and an attached 9-meter (9.9 feet) monitor
Inputs/Outputs: The AVD-W6200
features 2 audio/video inputs (with stereo RCA and composite video jacks) on the
hide-away unit, allowing you to switch between two sources such as the
AVH-P6500DVD and a VCR or Video game. The Source button, located on the
monitor's front panel, lets you choose which source to watch. The audio/video
outputs allow you to send the signals from the selected source to another video
Remote Eye: The front panel of
the monitor has a small IR eye to receive signals from a remote control.
Dimmer Function: You can select
the brightness level from High, Medium or Low settings. Furthermore, if the
Illumination wire is connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit, the display
will automatically dim when the headlights are turned on. You can store
different brightness/dimmer settings for each source.
Monitor Adjustments: You can
make the following picture adjustments to the monitor:
- Brightness: You can make
black appear darker or lighter (-24 to +24).
- Contrast: You can narrow or
widen the gap between black and white (-24 to +24).
- Color: You can make colors
appear lighter or darker (-24 to +24).
- Hue: You can adjust the red
or green of the picture (-24 to +24).
Note: These settings are
stored by the source (Video 1/Video 2) and the lighting switch (Car lights
Location Designation: When
using the monitor for the first time, you must set the mounting location to
front or rear. If you set the monitor location to "Front", neither the
video or setup screen can be viewed while the vehicle is moving. The parking
brake must be engaged before video is viewable. If you set the monitor location
to "Rear", the video can be viewed while the vehicle is in motion.
Wide Screen Modes: This unit
allows you to select one of five methods of viewing a normal (4:3) picture on
the 16:9 screen: Full, Just, Cinema, Zoom and Normal. Different settings can be
memorized for each video source.
