USB connections — digital music and more

With a USB connection on your in-dash stereo, you can enjoy more versatility in how you use your gear. With a USB input, you can:

  • Play digital music files

You can save music files onto a USB thumb drive and enjoy real portability and flexibility.

  • Plug in your MP3 player

Many MP3 players plug into a stereo's USB input (except for iPods®, usually; they require an adapter), making it easy to control and play their files. Most USB inputs recharge your player's battery when it's connected.

  • View digital images

A USB input makes it easy to view digital images if you have a video receiver with a USB input in your dash.

USB-compatible in-dash receivers usually feature a built-in input, or the option to add one with an extra adapter. And most of these receivers can do much more — make sure you check out all of a receiver's features as you shop. You can also find expansion systems for factory stereos that feature USB inputs.
