Need to shoot your show's narrator out on the school athletic field while you're on a tripod up in the stands? You've just discovered a use for Canon's WM-V1 Bluetooth® wireless microphone. With a range of up to 164 feet, you'll have audio recording options that simply aren't available when using a traditional wired mic.

The microphone and receiver modules are each powered by a "AAA" battery, and they communicate with each other. This allows the camera operator and talent to coordinate during the shoot, even in noisy circumstances.

The WM-V1's receiver module connects to your camera's "external microphone in" jack. An in-ear monitor is provided for both modules. And the microphone module comes with a jacket-style surround windscreen that minimizes overall wind noise.

Features

Overview: The Canon WM-V1 is a wireless microphone, powered by Bluetooth technology, designed for use with Canon HD camcorders. The WM-V1 consists of a microphone (transmitter) and a receiver unit, and enables you to record high quality sound from distances of up to 164 feet (50 meters). Both the microphone and receiver unit can be clipped to the subject's and camera operator's clothing. The WM-V1 comes with a windscreen, connecting cable, and two monaural earphones.

Power Requirements: The WM-V1's microphone and receiver unit are each powered by a single "AAA" alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH battery. The estimated battery life using an alkaline battery is 3 hours of continuous use (at 77°F).

Earphones: You can check the sound picked up by the microphone by connecting one of the supplied earphones to the microphone's and/or the receiver's earphone jack.
